What a waste of time, money, and resources.
How much of our money are they giving away now?
All of it
A disastrous idea from the WEF forum.
Accurate
Here comes hyper inflation... let's keep spending more and more
Joly is too inexperienced and naive to be a foreign minister.
foreign minister barbie.
But JT loves having her on his many road trips! 😉
And what are your qualifications to say that?
The only requirement is the ability to skate around Justin's fawning admiration for the basic dictatorship of China.

Not possible, their main job is to fight China. It will be much more worse if conservatives are in power one day. They do not know how to spend their day without saying some thing bad about China.

Canada needs to keep it's nose out of Asia's problems. Let the Asian cultures deal with themselves, after-all, they have to live with each other at the end of the day. They don't live with Canada last time I looked on this things called a map.

Just finishing 30 years in the CF and have lost all faith in the L party to properly support the CAF and she just proved it the amounts she quoted for support to the RCN to enhance their role will only pay for half a tour of one ship in only calm waters. We need REAL support because the treat is real.

It is a waste of Canadian tax dollars. Canada has many problems, and everyone is complaining taxes are too high. All those Asia country has been working with China for hundreds of years and needs China will continue to do so. 1.5 billion trade investment will not make a dent.
What are Canadas principles? HOW does this help with climate change? HOW does it create jobs for Canadians at another country?
She sure says a lot of nice things. Mostly to cover up their real intentions.
I don't necessarily blame the anchor as he is not a journalist but still disappointing
Climate change is a non issue. The last people who should be in charge of addressing it is government. They tax people for climate change and were does it get spent. Also CO2 is not a pollutant and you would be sunrised how resilient the planet is. Don't be brainwashed with this climate alarmism. Even the guy who invented green peace says this. Shouldn't we focus on actual pollution like plastic
Hey guys! This guy is worried about climate change! Point and laugh!

We are so screwed as a country.
Good point. Instead of spending money we don't have on a military operation we couldn't win the better idea is banning all trade with China because they use slave labour and a coal power plant in China used to power industries creates 1100% greater carbon emissions than the same coal power plant would if it were in Canada. Bring industry back! Save the planet!
Nonsense! Mind your own business!
Why, or maybe , how is it, the media always tells us what the announcement will be before its announced? I don't care either way but is the media a reaction to govt, or us govt a reaction to media. The convoy issue has brought this about, as they use each other's assumptions in defense of each other's reactions. No separation of state and media makes the media simply an arm of the state, and not a regulator of non partisanship

Please do not form a NATO style group in the Indo=Pacific region. Trade is okay. Military alliances do not work.
I feel the government is bloated. They as a government need to not be distracted by the issues at home vs issues abroad. It is absolutely ridiculous to think they put Canadians second to pander another country to trade partnerships that would not evolve or amount to equal returns. If we spent the money on the homeless indigenous and veterans I would support any and all spending. Yet they bandage problems at home to bandage problems abroad. Which one would you as Canadians would like to see better resolution for.???
@Ruckin Ehround Investing in Foreign Affairs is not putting Canada and Canadians second. The future of Canada is what it can sell/trade with the World. The money that Government is investing in Foreign Affairs, will generate Business opportunities for Canadians at home. This increased Economic activity will mean more jobs for people that are Homeless and Tax dollars to help pay for indigenous and Veterans support.
Asia is an excellent region for Canada to sell some of its natural resources. Instead of the region getting their Oil from Russia, it could get it from Canada.

The Lower mainland right up to the Artic is critical due also to the fact that all along our coastlines, from freighters, from transports goods from trains from the east coast as well as sent out to the Asian market as well as receiving from the Asian China coastlines, to the US and transport from the US markets through Canadian ports back to the Asian China markets.
