I did not know it was the black panthers who initiated the breakfast program. That program was greatly helpful to me and my mother as well as my four siblings I have a masters degree today so the nutrition was helpful in New Orleans school system.

Brother Marshall Eddy Conway, a former Baltimore Panther leader, is still in prison. Has been since 1970.

Probably the image of the woman with a baby on her back and a gun in one arm came from Mozambiaue, women revolutionaries in southern African fighting Portuguese colonialism. That appealed to the Black Panther party---and to me when I was but a teenager

@Tougemaster06 And a more recent ADVISOR said something like? " I would gladly give up the name (guise) of socialism, to gain the aims of socialism." Thus fullfilling your own quotes intentions. And yet neither has as yet accomplished their goals. So? In retrospect of consequences? What exactly did Van Jones mean when saying;" Pookies got to get a little uppity?"

The visitor's question at 1:07:05 and Davis' answer is worth hearing to know where she has stood politically since she joined Alliance, a CPUSA youth group, in high school, why she joined as an adult while in graduate school, ... and why Davis's commentary on prisons has been virtually ignored while Michelle Alexander's is common currency.
Capitalism is a barbarous system, and it buttresses Davis' critique. It is all but absent from Alexander's.
    "I may not be a communist with a large 'C'. I am still a communist with a small 'c' ... "

Lest we forget the African American brothers who gave their lives,Theirs was an Anti imperialist struggle The grunts returned from the NAM had seen the ugly face of colonialist brutality Malcolm X had studied the history of the Empires deceit ?that was a cocktail of radical consciousness that reminded the people about the danger of complacency we owe a lot the young social activist's of the 60's they were the worst of all times,of cruelty violence racial hatred,I wish you peace and love UCTV

@Tougemaster06 AND????? Or is THIS the breath and depth of your purported intellect? TO quote what OTHERS say as the versasity or content of a subject? Thus the book becomes the mind. While at some point? The mind created the book. Social democrasy are two wonderful words. Yet not defined. Yet not realized. Social: To create a brotherhood(humanist). Democrasy: To create the voice of the humans. BUT! What of what that voice, once known, says?

@Tougemaster06 What I find most interesting iss your cite of Eduard Bernstein as a source. Since he lived and died a hundred years ago and his writings are cited and listed on the main Marxist web site. And I suggest you search for the list of communist parties in the usa and note how many socialist democratic parties are listed there. The mear fact that the main communist parties changed their names to socialist democratic names speaks volumes all by itself. Search their roots and read better

@Tougemaster06 Yes indeed. Social Democrats ARE NOT commies. So nice of you to notice. Because Social Democrats have learned? The name begats the face. And thus the NAMES change. BUT? What of the intent and means? Or? The intended results? Have those things differed to any great detail? Call a tea bagger a racist or a patriot. Does either change the person? OR? Does THE PERSON rule the name?

@lousinup "Americans don't differentiate between fascism and communism. It's 2 sides of the same coin."
I'm an American. And I do differentiate between the two philosophies. Of course you wouldn't, because to do so would take work.
Tell me, Mr. Real American, if Fascism/Nazism and Marxism are identical, how come old Adolph sent communists to the death camps alongside the Jews?
And actually, during WW2 the US gov loved Joe Stalin. After WW2 the US gov told you to hate him, and so you did.

@Tougemaster06 And if YOU understood you would not ask that question pookie. Because it's burried in those definition the word play used to justify the unjustified. To spin the results as a metaphorical illusion to denie the aims and agenda. As has been said. Better to drop the cloths of the socialist, to gain the goals of the socialist. Define as you wish. It changes nothing.
