- My 2013 Ram Megacab came stock with a 31 gallon fuel tank. When pulling my 40 foot gooseneck I could get down to 4MPG at times and getting into smaller fuel stations with a 40' trailer isn't ideal so let's upgrade to a 52 gallon aftermarket tank to try and reduce our fuel stops when on the road and hopefully avoid having to pull into smaller stations that aren't as friendly for larger rigs! Brother if you honestly knew how much your channel has helped me. I lost my dog a lil over a year ago and all id have to say is Duff dog is on and she'd be up in my lap she loved to watch tv especially if a dog was on. It was our thing Mortske in the morning and PFS in evening. Got me another dog and things are back to normal. Just wanted to say thanks again for giving me something to look fwd to on Mondays going on 4 years.. Now ill wait to see how long it takes for a pinned comment 😁✌️

My 16 Lone Star is a "Crew Cab" ... I looked at Megacabs at first and chickened out. I ended up half ton, pasta-diesel, 6' 5" bed, and I think a 28 gallon tank. I think I'll get an upgraded stock tank eventually, but also a transfer tank/toolbox combo in the bed that fits under the tonneau cover. My truck is basically a rolling toolbox/recovery vehicle. I rock your D100 sticker on it, but still waiting on a 3rd or 4th gen sticker if you ever name your Megacab, or make a White Rhino (Ryan?) one.

I love that truck. That’s the exact truck I want.
If you really want fuel mileage to get better, get a custom tune. You don’t need to remove the EGR or the DPF but you can turn them off and lengthen the life of your truck. They should be able to put in the new tank size in too.

My Old 1982 Kenworth Cabover that I used to drive back in the 1990's had Twin 300 gallon tanks on it .Uses to cost me close to $600 bucks each fill up back then when diesel was $0.92 a gallon .Couldn't imagine what it would cost these days

I hear u on trying to find a crew cab longbed. I had been searching for 6 years finally found a 2014 6.4 gas that the only mod the guy did was a leveling kit and four corner strobes. Nicest truck ive ever owned. Going from a 99 ext cab short box. This thing is awesome.

I've never really paid much attention to the DTE computer, to be honest. As with MPG, it depends on how you drive. Mine will fluctuate just sitting in traffic. Which I think is odd because I never really thought idling used that much fuel to notice. Unless it does that to let you know it's "working"......Anywho....good job Mort! 👍👍

Mortski just lengthen the float in. The sending unit to account for the extra 10 gallons at the bottom of the tank and see if that will work

My 2012 f250 6.7l only had 26 gal picked up a titan 60 gal in there scratch and dent awesome up grade especially when towing you can pick and choose where you stop for fuel!!! With the ford you can use forscan not foreskin to change the size of the tank in the computer!!!

Knew a guy that had dual saddles underneath and one of them construction/road crew tanks in the bed of his old square body.
$455 to fill that tank in UK, but my sensible diesel ford estate [station wagon] would do 2000 miles on that at 85MPH, or 3000 miles at 60...
4MPG would be $2 a mile over here...

Doesn't quite work out like that Paul, our gallon is about 20% more (volume) than a US gallon. Still a valid point though none the less.

Hey Mortske, glad to see MMR is back! Not to rub salt in the wound but are you sure there isn’t something wrong with that thing? 10mpg just seems incredibly low. I towed a U-Haul trailer (those things are ridiculously heavy) with a 6k lb Range Rover on it with my 240k mi 6.0 powerstroke 4wd Crew Cab and got 17mpg. It’s mostly stock, just exhaust and EGR delete, no tune or anything plus it’s on 37s. I can’t believe a 7yr newer diesel with smaller tires gets that much worse. I know your trailer is bigger, but you’re usually hauling lighter vehicles than that rover and I can’t imagine there’s enough difference to warrant that much worse mileage.

with Alfaobd app for your phone and a elm 327 bluetooth obd2 for apple or android you can change the tank size in the computer of the truck and the remaining miles and mpg will work as should

1/4 of 52 gallons is 13 gallons. So I guess it's just getting used to the mentality of knowing that when you hit 1/4 tank you still have quite a lot of fuel remaining. I mean the entire fuel tank in my Land Rover Series 3 is only 12 gallons, so even at 1/4 tank you have more fuel than I do full.
got a good laugh when your pup kept looking at you then the door you then the door. last dog would get a little loud about it all. at least yours does get all bent out of shape. as soon as they learn how to use there voice its all over.

I have a titan tank in my 08, it's great having the extra capacity but not great to fill it up from 1/4 tank or less 😂 when I'm not pulling I average 22 mpg, and hauling my junk to a car show I get around 15

Diesel became unfun around 2001 when bent you over at pump with no lube 😂 diesel prices went up big before that was cheaper than gas
ON the computer not reading right, you should be able to go in with a scan tool and reprogram it for the gallons you need.
Distance to empty.....if you have the right computer, can you change the fuel tank capacity? I love the idea of a bigger tank, but that would drive me nuts!
