The Biggest Scandals In Sports History - Sport
Would have been better if you hadn't reduced sports to certain domestic leagues (Soccer - Seria A; Basketball - NBA). In the case of Basketball, I think the biggest scandal was when the Spanish National Team of Paralympics basketball won gold in an intellectual disability event, but it was later found that none of the players were actually disabled lol
it is 10 out of 12 but your point is still very valid
Agree
Maybe that’s what they based that South Park episode on
That's downright despicable... Really??
It absolutely baffles me that more didn’t happen to the Astros.
funny he didn’t mention they made it out virtually unscathed. Mfs still denying it to this day too lol
I don’t see the issue with what they did, it’s clever
@@12thMandalorian aye I’m all about “if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying” but for one.. they went a little to far lmao. And two, they got caught and the MLB basically did nothing about it
I mean the Red Sox got caught too but everyone forgets about them
@@AshenSnow yeah that’s true. But they weren’t doing what the astros were
Wow, F1 wasn’t mentioned once. Where is Crashgate and Spygate?
Yeah, and Indygate? Where 14 teams dropped out due to tyre failures...
@@rotary_7812 Yep. That’s probably the reason F1 only has Pirellis right now. And those suck worse than those Michelins 😂
@@carguy9292 bring back Michelin or Bridgestone tires honestly
@@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1 Nah Michelin needs a second Chan
People, Americans especially, have this weird relationship with motorsports in that its to separate from "real" sports because they think most motorsports only involve you sitting down and driving.
Also surprised with the lack of combat sports.
You called it football and not soccer, instant sub
It’s soccer. Don’t @ me.
@@BulletAgarioplot twist. It’s both.
the 2007 spy gate scandal with mclaren and ferarri in f1 is HUUUUGE mclaren got fined for 100million and all of their constructor championship points
You didn't even mention the second time the Patriots got caught filming practices. In 2019 they got caught filming the Bengals special teams. The Bengals were winless at the time on their way to a 2-14 season. The Patriots don't even cheat because they have to, just because they can.
baseball got more scandals than fans ☠️
Ha
You can't talk about the NFL without mentioning the Denver Broncos cheating the salary cap to keep key players on thier team at would later win them the Superbowl in 1997 and 98.
Dope video
I like your vids
Do a series of the fastest players at each position

*THAT'S CAP*
*She Never Cheated Or Failed A Drug Test*
Yeah thats strange that they mentioned her, multiple higher ups have stated she passed every drug test they threw her way in 88
That “Black Sox” remark would have Twitter freaking the f*** out today
What's really damning about Lance Armstrong is that he made it a point to attempt to ruin the lives of those who said he was doping during his career. What a great person with great morals no doubt!
Uh it’s Lance Armstrong not the guy who made the Omega Speedmaster famous
@@carguy9292 My bad. Sometimes get those two mixed up on account of the same last name.
GREG LEMOND, SB Nation lol
That Armstrong dude doesn’t have 🥜 right? 😂
These videos are lit!!!!!
Surprised with the lack of combat sports.
Love the vids but I don’t think anyone is making the argument that Pete Rose is the best hitter in baseball history.
What about Jordans scandal, why he had to quit and go play baseball. Pretty big one
The football one is so small, you let out those on international football (Peru vs Argentina '78, Austria vs Germany '82, cachirules, etc.)
Manfred should have made Houston vacate their championship. I haven't looked at baseball the same since.
In hindsight, they went 0-4 against the Nats at home in 2019. So that's a form of Solace I suppose. Oh and they lost to the Braves
I want to see this channel cover move leagues and sports.
Who knew an American man could soccer, "football"
Jaylen Brown next video Nonstop Sports 💪💪💪
Great Video, I hope I can grow my channel as fast as you did!!
Seria a has so many match fixing scandals its not really that unbeliveable, i mean you could say Calcioppoli isnt even the largest one.
Cricket and Boxing fixing scandals completely missing. There are plenty and the 300 tons of it more.
God bless you 🙏❤
Ever that she does, it will have a great Christmas I bless all of you I hope that you will have a good day to👏
Omg stop with the irrelevant comments!
This another banger
Goddamn the Serie A really brought the hammer down. Stripped those zebra mfs off their titles and dropped them to the lower division.
They’ve bounced back but they’ve been cursed ever since in the champions league
They are still the greatest in the serie A history
God bless don't forget to keep God first
lol
Just why do they do all this
Hi
Oh man, if i can tell you something from IT, i really like you when you talk about american sports, but a lot of things were missed or misunderstood about the Italian scandal.
The only relegated team has been Juve at the end, and they were appointed as the main bad guys mostly because in italy Juve is like the Lakers or the Patriots, very winning, very hated. So people wanted the head of Moggi and judges gave them it despite other executives of other teams were into that system as well as him. Plus, as an executuve he was a really top class one, kinda like the Jerry West of Soccer (he could build a winning team with a really few budget if compared to then Inter and Ac Milan who used to spend unlimited cash from Berlusconi and Moratti), and most important, in a world like top level soccer one, there are a lot of literally assholes, especially in italian soccer. So, if you are at the head of a top class and such hated team (really, juve supporters in sone cities like Rome and Naples could risk their safety sometimes), you have to be as asshole as them, especially with very powerful agents like Raiola or Jorge Mendes, and of course at the same time keep good relationships with smaller teams in order to take from them talented young players when still not in their prime. So, Moggi throughout the years has become the public enemy number one. He already was not a really loved one when working with Roma or Napoli (yeah he was the brain behind their winning age with Maradona), but clearly the hate grew up once hired by the most despised team in Italy (despite being the most supported, but the ones who are not supporters of juve are haters).
This is just wrong lmao, to say that Juve were only relegated and punished the hardest because they were the most succesful team is a straight up lie.
Moggi was the instigator, Moggi was the one who was caught, Moggi(Juve) was the one who was punished the hardest
Car l Lewis never got caught
Lance Armstrong!!!
The DEATH of The GOOD Bicycle Industry!!!!
lazio was never relegated they had Administrative relegation cancelled instead and finished 3rd in 06/07 in serie a

Few more from football...
German match fixing scandal. Circa early 2000s...Bundesliga referees fixed matches, did time...and still referee matches. This reared its ugly head the other day after a controversial 3-2 loss
Brazilian....how do I describe the Brazilian match fixing syndicate? Calciopoli on steroids then. If Calciopoli was four teams. Try entire leagues and links to organized crime...
Also just a correction, the Black Sox term was around before 1919, it was due to Charles Comiskey not wanting to pay to clean the team's clothing, some sources say it's the players not being paid enough to afford laundry
Also, the BBC's coverage of the '88 Soul Olympics and Des Lynahm's iconic I have just been handed a note... is as the starting blocks. It's been said at least the top three were on PEDs in that final, if not more. I never knew Flo Jo was on PEDs though?athletics as a whole.
Cycling is a hobby not a sport
Cycling is a historic IOC sport, unlike baseball.
@@paulozhan it’s not a sport if you do it sitting on your ass
@@Mike.Hunt. as defined by who? You talk like someone who clearly has never cycled competitively. Plenty of sports are done sitting on your ass. Cycling and rowing are two prime examples. Some other sports you spend half of the time sitting on your ass, such as the American iteration of football and baseball. I can assure you that cycling and rowing are way harder and burn way more calories despite the fact that you're sitting on your ass than in many of the traditional sports. What defines a sport is not whether you're standing or sitting, otherwise birdwatching and commuting would be sports.
@@paulozhan not even gonna waste my time reading that paragraph 🖕🏼
@@Mike.Hunt. yeah mate it sucks when you don't have arguments, don't waste your time trying to conjure them because you can't
Inter and Napoli didn’t do it
I feel bad for Lance sometimes because he had no other option if he wanted to compete with everyone else that were also using PEDs. I’m not saying what he did was right but UCI could have not bashed him so hard. I still respect him as a athlete and he shouldn’t be treated as a cheater because everyone else cheated too.
No, you should not feel bad for him at all. Armstrong intimidated his opponents and the journalists, he tried to destroy his teammates when they decided they did not want to be involved in the cheating. He is a horrible human being. Every cyclists knew that at the time. He almost destroyed the passion of cycling among my fellow countrymen in France. He also implicitely forced other cyclists to take more dangererous products. Some people almost died because of that... I'm glad he got caught.
He cheated but shouldn’t be considered a cheater? Okay…
Two wrongs make a right?
