This reminds me of when Chris Eyedman got upset when brad tarvares kicked his leg after his leg surgery. Kurt angle wrestled and won gold with a broken neck. If your knee is too injured or compromised to compete, then dont compete. If you want to compete injured/compromised, you don't get to be upset when an opponent attack that injury. I mean it's a competition, all is fair as long as it doesn't break the rules of the sport.

Jealousy will make you say a lot of things you really don't mean. I never knew Bo Nickal had won an Olympic gold medal. WOW! News to everyone. I believe Bo Nickal had 7 losses in college and was a 3X NCAA champion just never good enough to make it through the Olympic trials and on to an Olympic team. Bo is probably trying to pump up his MMA career but at what cost? Respect those that have done so much that you aren't capable of accomplishing.

JB wrestled for Nebraska, Bo wrestled for Penn State. Those programs don't like each other. The Penn State wrestling coach, Cael Sanderson, does not like Nebraska. There is historical enmity and rivalry between the programs and coaches.
All that said, if you step on the mat, there is no "protected" area. Opponents will take advantage of any weakness. It's on Starocci to decide if his body is ready for the match or not. Nobody can be expected to go easy on him.

I had a bad wrist when I wrestled in high school so I taped the opposite one so guys would grab it. If my opponent was tapped up…I worked that spot 100%.

Yup. Ripped my left shoulder pretty good during a first period scramble. Between periods, before I took bottom, I made the mistake of wincing while rubbing and rolling that shoulder. As soon as the whistle blew, guy went tightwaist head lever on my left side. He worked that shoulder the entire period. I had no problem with it then and none with it now. Totally legit strategy.

Burroughs walks the walk. At the 2014 world championships Jordan was injured in his first match. In his second match the Russian went for the injured leg and beat Jordan. Did Jordan cry about it? No. He sacked up and went on and won a damned medal.

I was under the impression that when you are calling a match you were supposed to keep your own business out of it. For example, it would be hard for me to imagine DC calling the upcoming Jon vs Stipe match and making it personal, talking about how he would beat Jon or some such. Kinda weird that Jordan went there. And if Starocci has a knee that wonky why would they even let him compete in the trials? I can see Bo's point here. The entire situation seems unfortunate.
I have heard mma commentators talk about targeting injuries multiple times. It would literally be DCs job in that instance to point out openings he sees or potential paths to victory.
If you listen to the exchange it didn’t sound personal at all. It was a general statement that opponents should go after the I injury.
You can always tell who DC is going for. I hate DC commentary . Bo crying because he couldn't make the Olympic team. 😂😂😂 JB 7 time world champ .
You can see Bo's point? He was not targeting Carter with his response. He was basically being asked if he would Target the knee of an opponent.
I believe by "fraud" he was saying JB, who is absolutely one of the best all time wrestlers, and has a squeaky clean straight down the line honorable reputations, was being less than that. I didn't think it was all that bad to say. And it certainly wasn't news that Carter had an issue with the knee. The entire world knew. Bo was just being passionate for his teammate. Can't wait for the trials.

I was surprised by the JB statement. Didn’t think it was out of line. Just shows hey. This is the highest level of competition and the highest stakes. I’m surprised Bo had an issue and I feel…bad if he thinks an opponent wouldn’t exploit something similar against him
It could be argued JB announcing he WOULD attack that leg was the honorable thing to do.
I don't think Bo was referring to what he said as much as the timing of the statement and turning the spotlight on himself at a time when it should have been about what Starrocci had just accomplished.

From the outside looking in I believe both parties in this situation were right if you look at it from Burroughs perspective he’s not only doing his hun but he’s scouting the opposition , you don’t get to where he has gotten without having some kinda of combative attitude!!! And if you look at from Bo’s perspective that’s his friend and he’s doing what any friend would do , by standing up for his homie was he tryna start alil drama , yeah but it just bring more attention to the wrestling world

I was correct about Bo. He should have got the same or more money to go to another organization. Whether he was in another organization or the UFC he would have fought cans. (let's be honest, the UFC fed him cans). Except if Bo was in another organization he would be in line for a big payday to step into the UFC. As things stand now Bo's value has hit the depreciation point.

You wrestlers are closeted always so desperate to dominate another man by holding him. Wrestling teaches you how to fight without fighting but then you’re supposed to learn how to fight if you’re a man. Quit being gay and learn boxing and jiu jitsu so you don’t shoot in and get your head caved in a fight. I wrestled too and it was even gayer than jiu jitsu. Greco is the only wrestling style that’s really tactical cause it was made by a French guy in the military who was obsessed with history.

When I wrestled in high school I talked all kinds of trash in almost all my matches. Anytime I was in a tie up with someone I’d immediately start talking shit. I only ever got warned about it once cause my opponent acted like a real bitch about it. 😅 good times.
