I once represented a cartel vicario. He was 30. Small guy, about 5’5” and 150 lbs. Had a girlish face that he covered with a heavy beard. Looked like Johnny Depp with a beard.
He had killed over 250 people as top gun for a cartel boss. He was a US citizen living in Mexico.
He was charged with a minor federal crime in the US.
Feds tried to recruit him but he had a wife and kid living in Mexico and was afraid to endanger his wife’s family.

Always good stuff Shawn. Great insight for us who didn’t serve as to the evil our men and women are dealing with and why the fight is important. We know it’s important to fight terror, but hearing specific details from men who were there really paints a good picture of why the USA is in the fight.
So thankful men like this exist and share these moments.

If he was serious about killing bad guys because they’re bad, he wouldn’t only kill bad guys that the United States tells him to. There are bad dudes in every nation on the planet. The oath he swore includes domestic threats to the constitution.
He doesn’t do dirty work for anyone BUT a corrupt government.
A few possibilities about the wife that showed no emotion with her husband getting killed, it could have been fear or shock and self-preservation that kept her from reacting. People from hard regions also tend to be more stoic. There have been many news stories and court cases of people who are innocent in violent crimes who almost found themselves in deep trouble because they didn't emotionally react the way others, who have not experienced those dramatic tragedies, think someone ought to act when that actually does happen. Everyone reacts different and there's no way to know until it does happen. It's like that in the military no one knows how everyone's going to react until rounds start impacting nearby even though everyone likes to boast and brag about how they think they will react and oftentimes a lot of the big proud loud mouths end up in the fetal position shivering while the quiet guys are rocking and rolling. Some people don't react right in the moment right there on the spot just like in combat you don't react and mourn and take it all in in the middle of the action you ignore it and put it aside until sometime later then you let it all come crashing down on you. And a lot of people won't let their enemy see them express great emotion and distress. Some certainly do but not everyone drops to the ground screaming and wailing like a goat being eaten alive making a huge scene when they see a loved one killed by their enemy. Especially people who have already seen a lot of death around them. And yeah maybe he beat her and she hated his guts too 🤷🏽who knows
I admire men like this so much. Not just for the courage and sacrifice and all they gave in that land. But for the burdens they still bare. The unimaginable weight they carry every single day.

More than likely SEAL T6 Snipers were using the MK23. That’s exactly the type of thing it was made for.
