I orded a clear blue one and I cant wait! I really wanted a Odin 2 but My cell has the same chip and more ram than the base model so ill just use my cell and gamesir g8 controller. The pocket pro 4 fits all my retro and play store needs.

However that's not the point of the RG556. The RG556 is a Streaming Handheld with decent Android Gaming and Emulation capabilities (on par with a Odin Lite or OG Odin) not just a Poor-Man's Odin like newer Retroid products. Thirdly IMO I'd personally buy ANY Anbernic product over ANY Retroid product because their bland unergonomic bricks that don't fill any niche outside of Price to Performance. There's more to a good Handheld than Price to Performance ratio's.

I like both but prefer Anbernic a bit more. Their quality seems to be a bit better and if you order directly from China from them, shipping is really quick. I don't think I've ever had to wait longer than a week each time I ordered from them. Retroid on the other hand....
@@NEONBattleBitch I found a way to run it smoothly. It’s Mame 2003 or Mame 2003 plus. It runs 25 fps, is the fastest it goes, smoothly. It’s just that buttons need to be remap properly which it was difficult to do.

This is a great review Jayde. I'm an Xbox fan and was hoping it could play original Xbox games. I heard the part were you mentioned it not getting hot, but how long did you play it for?
The Xbox consoles are the hardest to emulate. The Steam Deck struggles with Original Xbox depending on the game, you can’t expect that from a mobile unit that fits in your pocket.
The 556 had better form factor and size for me. If it doesn't have the tons of mechanical failure and bad QC the retroid pocket 4 pro had, then it's an insta win for me. The rp4 pro QC is worse than rp3 and shill channels still refuse to call out retroid on this goofery. Which is soooo frustrating. I was so hyped on RP4 pro as it was supposedly a good cheaper alternative for odin 2.
There are plenty of great emulator devices for under $100 that are pocketable and play 2d games flawlessly. The only reason to spend $200 on an emulator device is to play ps2/gc games. And if you're gonna do that, you want something that has a good big screen and great ergonomics. Retroid completely fails in that regard.
My personal experience with snapdragons has never been great, they tend to get very hot. I’d prefer exynos, personally. $200 is my personal limit for these handhelds. Ayaneo’s are very nice little devices though. Out of curiosity what will it do that this one doesn’t?

Its 4x A78 at 2.6 and 4x A55 at 2.0 on the Pro model. The specs you said were the non pro model.

Love the red shell. Vf2 looked great on this. Virtual boy looks great too. Now I am wanting to play wario land on virtual boy after seeing this.

Its surprising to me how much better Daijisho is compared to Launchbox, while still being entirely free.

What core were you using for Killer Instinct to run it smoothly?? How do you get the game to run it? I keep getting missing files of the game.

I think around three hours (at once) was my longest haul. Playing / testing games, streaming, playing with settings and reloading games.

The Craproid 4 has a garbage screen compared to the RG556. I'd take the far superior OLED screen even if it's less powerful than the Craproid 4.
A better screen and lower specs is no where near a dealbreaker but carry on 😂
