Reason I ask this question is that, at the subwoofer end of cable there is clip which I feel may be problem for me. Also is it fine to cut in built cable and then join to my existing cable using tape? If not what's alternative?

I have replicated the same thing but the issue im facing is that when i connect my TV to the HDMI output of the convertor im not getting the 5.1 audio from my speakers but if i remove the tv from the setup the video is visible on my laptop screen and te 5.1 audio plays in the sound system. So only when i connect the tv to the output the audio turns off and my sound sytem say "No input". How do i rectify this issue? Kindly reply asap

No bro u can’t get OTT Dolby .. im so sorry … because home theatre supports Dolby digital … ott supports Dolby digital plus .. so it can’t play… But Netflix in PC app only supports Dolby digital through this setup

bro if we connect sony HT-S20R to mi tv via spdif , and in sound settings , there is option called digital output format from there we can select the output as dolby digital , if we select that option the dolby atmos/ digital plus audio will be converted into dolby digital sound and we can get dolby digital from the home theater?

Pretty simple firstly use arc or optical arc is over hdmi optical uses optical after that your need to actually patch your sound driver to output dobly codecs to your receiver I can help you with all of that if you got discord ?
There is no prologic .. pcm stereo to lpcm 2.0 .. .. if ur tv supports dobly and dolby digital plus . Through optical cable u will get 5.1 dobly .. but in all other cases stereo

as far as i know optical port in any tv supports dolby digital will convert dolby digital plus e-ac3 192kbps to dolby digital ac-3 640kbps

Bluetooth supports only stereo channel sound. You won't get 5.1 experience with Bluetooth
