  • There’s something about the gorgeous intersection of shaping’s heritage craft and the design influences of modernity, especially when those two lines are being drawn on a foam blank and a wave’s face by the product of a specific location.
Daniel Jones grew up at Rocky Point. Surfing and board building run through his DNA. A lightfooted and stylish goofyfoot, Daniel has spent the last years building a dedicated following without any crass self-promotion of almost any kind.
With our Acid Test location locked in for Oahu’s North Shore in October, there was know way the experimental quiver would have been incomplete without one of Daniel’s handshapes being pushed by Noa out front of their house at Rockies.
Knowing Daniel’s a ravenous consumer of modern progressive surfing, when we tapped him to build a board for Noa we basically told him to build what he’d ride at fun Rockies most days. The result is a spicy swallow-tailed aimed at uncompromising hi-fi shredding with the free and easy sensation so beloved in twins.
The crew ran into Daniel on the way for the board’s Rockies christening. Confirming Noa’s suspicions about the Twin, Daniel was just finishing up a session on basically the exact same board. Noa connected with the board almost instantly, and returned from the session more than pleased with the hyper-local experience.

Noa, Creed and Shaun are my favorite surfers to watch at the moment. They look like they’re having so much fun while they’re on a wave.

Ah come on stab. Getting tired of the bloody guitar rock in surfing vids. Its been like this for years and there is so much good, new and interesting music around. Why not use some flying lotus? Or some teebs? How about lapalux. Even the vids with the lofi hip hop are great. Using the same old kind of music over and over again is incredibly boring and makes the viewer quite disinterested. At least it does for me and alot of my friends. I often turn these off if they have the same old music because no matter how well its edited or how good the surfing is the music sets the tone. You have the chance to create such an atmosphere and are waisting that opportunity! That being said I do enjoy your guys content. I'd just like to see you guys pushing the boundaries with the tracks you use a bit more. My 2 cents. Hope you guys take this well.

@@jamestew1463 I dunno man I find it incredibly boring. Just because it's not just Stab that uses that kind of music, it's the whole surf world that's completely saturated with it. I think there is much room for music that's pushing the boundaries. Flylo for the win! 😁
