- Today ends our first quarter of our world cruise adventure we a stop in Los Angeles, CA. This was a restocking shopping stop for us in the morning, but then in the afternoon, the ship played “The Big Game”, you know, the super one. We watched in the main theater, and all our friends brought snacks to share as we watched The Kansas City Chiefs victory over the San Fransisco 49’ers. After that, we have 5 sea days to get to Hawaii, and we get the big news of our major itinerary change to Africa.

I was looking at the intenerary and felt like I’d want more sea days just to recuperate and absorb the places you visit. It’s so good you are making these videos to preserve your memories because if you are anything like me, I feel like it would all get jumbled in my memory bank. What you say is so true about things getting jumbled up quickly. We actually record the videos. Within a day or two of when we visit the places but it takes a while to edit the clips altogether. These videos are going to be the best scrapbook for us.

I'm glad you had a chance to get some necessary shopping in before heading out toward Hawaii and points west. But I did have to laugh...we were wondering what sort of fun excursions you might choose to do in Los Angeles and then it was Target...Joann's....Walmart! 😂 But really I don't blame you, seems like it was your last chance to stock up before several sea days.

Yes, it was a high adventure day, 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I did have to go with Nancy to Joanne's for an hour and a half, so that was a little dicey. But yes, you're right. Getting our last stock up before heading to the rest of the world was pretty critical. Go Chiefs! ##ChiefsKingdom
Hey you guys, I so enjoy seeing where you are. I thought you already did a video a month ago regarding change in itinerary. By the time anyone could help you with input you will probably be already in your immersive Africa experience.
You're correct we did one right when the itinerary change came out, but that was in Los Angeles so we thought it was worth mentioning there. Long time to go till Africa and we're still doing a lot of planning so any help is always appreciated

Great Video! When we sailed away from LA we passed the military base at retreat, everyone was quiet and respectful on deck. I was a USAF wife for 20 years so seeing and hearing retreat was very special. It was early 2022 and our first post covid cruise. We are from AL and we have done a bunch of caribbean cruises and wanted something different. I think walking up the ramp to the ship we were not believing it was really happening. ;) We loved the stops in Mexico.

I agree with your itinerary choice. The stops around Africa sound amazing. Schedule a Greek islands tour later, you’ll never get a chance to see the southern hemisphere like this again.
We agree with that completely. It’ll be much easier to get back to the Mediterranean sometime in the future.

Good question! We had some toiletries things like makeup cotton pads and a few other personal items. A little more sunscreen things like that

The Alley Cats are great! They were on both of my cruises in 2023. My 12 night Southern Caribbean in April on Enchantment and my 14 day Greenland cruise on the Jewel of the Seas in Sept. Because of Hurricane Lee we missed Halifax and the Alley Cats had to stay on the ship a little longer. We talked to one of the Alley Cats one night at the Schooner Bar and he told us about his farm. Really cool! Glad you got to restock in LA and use Amazon Locker. What a great way Amazon Locker is to receive items when you are far from home but still in the US. Africa sounds wonderful! I look forward to more videos. I hope you continue to enjoy your cruise.

We returned back to Miami September 15. It is a true around the world cruise. As we left for Miami and are returning to Miami.

We were on a HAL cruise when our Seattle Seahawks played Pittsburgh in Super Bowl. They put on such a great party!!

Love your videos. For some reason I seem to get your videos 6 weeks behind but I still enjoy them.
Yes, we have a bunch in the queue and are only putting out two or three a week.
I've been following you from the start of your world cruise and really enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Some people think that 9 months on board ship could get boring but you have shown there are many things to do and occupy your time including making videos to share your adventures with us plus the necessary admin tasks you touched on. I respect this is your holiday and sharing with us is not your main focus but i am keen to see more. In this video it is around 27th of Feb and you are in LA but wasn't posted until 1st April which is over a month gap and in meantime you have been to many other places which we are all keen to see. I know in reality you and the ship are now in Asia having been to Australia and NZ . It sounds as if i am complaining, well maybe a bit but only because interested and keen to share your adventures with you.
Well, we appreciate your enthusiasm regarding our journey and appreciate you following along. Today we’re just about to get off the ship in South Korea. We have many videos in the queue as we record them almost right after we go, but it takes a while to edit and get all the clips in.

So many beautiful sights here........Im in the desert of Apple valley after living 6 years at the beach and 10 years in the mountains.....and i love it here! What a lovely church! I also love Amazon........they have been more then wonderful to me! Oh boy superbowl Sunday the stores are empty......just not the markets.Wow its April and this vid is from February? I would pick option 2 just for the pyramids and the Greek isles.Ive been to Oahu....Maui.....and Kuai. My fave was Maui. Never been to the big Island so will enjoy seeing that!

Nancy, did you ever share the sauce recipe from your food tour in Nassau? I am a new subscriber- love your channel. I am watching past videos.
Oh my goodness. Funny you should bring that up. I remember us making it, however, the ratio of the ingredients was not correct and I was going to tweak it. We even had the video camera all set up ready to record and then it didn’t taste right. I’m not in a position to do that video now while we’re on the world cruise, I will have to try hard to remember to do that when I get home. I’ll make myself a note.

You know, I don’t think we ever did a short on that. We are going around Africa, intensively rather than rushing around it and spending more time in Greece.

Yes we are on the full world cruise, and we actually started recording a full ship tour, but we're not happy with the audio so we're going to redo it. There will be one coming out in the future

Yes you're correct. the internet was included for full world Cruisers
Your taxes and finances via the Internet?? I may have missed it, but how secure is the Starlink connection or are you using a VPN of some sort?
Yes we do use a VPN and the tax software use also uses an encrypted tunnel for all the work.

If you were not aware, the Yemen Houthis branched out and attacked a Chinese cargo ship, exiting the Red Sea, last week. This breaks the Yemen agreement with China for safe passage of their (China’s) ships.
No, we were not aware of this, so thank you for letting us know. This is why we are now going around Africa instead of through the Red Sea.
