I know everyone and their mom has made a 5 things I hate about my car... so I that's why I had to do one myself DISCLAIMER: everything filmed was done in Mexico
One thing I hate is that there is not much aftermarket for it. Auto city imports, road race engineering and a few other companies have parts but, not much. Also, the headlights tend to haze cause of the sun fast so you gotta keep up with a sealant of some sort AND that it’s kinda a gas hog for what it is. Also, you need like a full 5 quarts for the oil change on the 3.8 liter. Nevertheless, an awesome car regardless 🤷🏽
I bought 2nd owner 2006 Coupe GT. I ❤it. I haven't had muscle cars in a long time. 1995 was my last muscle car 1982 Pontiac Trans am 2 barrel carburetors. I bought this 17! Year old Eclipse yesterday June 3. 2023!! In mint condition it's A CruiZer!❤
Great video bro, just a few thoughts: So that wheel gap, a lot of that has to do with your car having the smaller GS wheels on it for some reason, get some GT wheels and it'll fill in a bit better. The turning radius is large because the chassis is the same as the Galant sedan in the 4g, so it's essentially a sedan turn radius. Those interior door handles are the worst part of the car honestly, but you can buy some solid ones or build some and they'll just bolt in. It is a really wide car but I kind of love that, makes it feel a bit exotic. Nice car man, make sure you keep up with the timing belt and water pump so the engine doesn't kaboom on ya. I've done the timing belt / water pump on a 4g GT and twice on a 3g GT, it's not as bad as on the 3g but still a pretty hard job but well worth it to ensure the car continues to live on.
I have the 2008 gt spyder. Agree with everything you brought up, especially the turning radius and door handles. On the spyder the porthole back window is crazy. I'm glad they added a backup cam on the later models but backing up and changing lanes on my car i have to like triple check before i commit 😁. Also the top center dash squeak is annoying as hell. Love the car though.
The turn radius plagued Mitsubishis and some other cars from that era: my Lancer Ralliart, My friends Evo 8, my Galant Ralliart have ghastly turn radi. If you think the Eclipse is big, my same period Galant is a damn Bus... I almost get hit daily by other cars. The wheel gap thing is bad with my factory 18s, those 17s make it way worse. About the interior trim, my Galant's door interior trim kinda warped in a way that it doesnt line up right, lol. But damn it are they fun cars
I just bought an 06 gt manual 10 days ago , i changed all the belts ,timing belt , timing cover changed plugs its in very good condition for an 06.
If you don't like it, sell it😂😂😂

Really good video..I love the fact that you gave examples and clips of the issues as well. Amazing video

LOL this is fax dude the wheel gap and turning radius is so ass 😭😭
I've been thinking about getting a Eclipse 2006 GT.
I prefer lowering springs to coil-overs, more suspension travel
What exhaust do you have cause me want
Is there room in the driver seat?
why you have a дшпре ''service engine soon'' ?)
You missed the worst attribute of the 4G. Torque Steer!! ( any votes?)
