Very Hyped for this! Was wishing for more new models but Praying that in 2024 we will be spoiled!
One can also pray for chaos Dwarfs, Kislev, Khatay to come into the play in a future
I'd love for Kislev and Chaos Dwarves to show up again!! Always wanted those armies back when I was a kid and even then they were mythical.
Chaos Dwarves will get rules but no new stuff, as they are considered Legacy Content
Chorfs are confirmed to be getting a PDF like the other Renegade factions "shortly after launch". No word on Kislev or Cathay timeframe
I hope they go back to some of the old Kislev lore. A lot of the stuff in Total Warhammer is Flanderized and more generic fantasy than historically grounded.
This is the warhammer I played from age 10-17, years 2002-2009. This is what it will take to bring me back in, nj gw!

I sincerely hope that this game is a success and that it both brings in a lot of new players and also coalesce all the current players into this one edition.

Cannot describe how happy I am to see more metal models being released! I know GW never really stopped doing them, but more focused more on plastic/resin but seeing metal kits coming out like this is so good.

Looking forward to getting the Bretonnia box. Only negative thing is the transfer sheet is focused on the one Dukedom instead of giving options for others. So are there going to be other transfer sheets made available at later dates?

I'm so happy to see old kits coming back to sale, especially metal kits! I love metal models and I exclusively used models that are from 6th edition at the most modern, so getting a chance to buy these kits new again makes me very happy. The rules seem great too!
Since I'm PC Gamer who play Total War / Vermintide Old World is Warhammer I Would Prefer ! I Hope GW Continue on Develop Old World.

as a skaven player I guess I'll be relying on the "sheer weight of numbers" part, hopefully they bring back the skaven slaves unit if only to make a blob of the highest possible amount of rats rush across the field at some hapless sorcerer

I am going to use my favourite army, which is Orcs And Goblins. The orcs are stronger in melee and the goblins are better in long-range, but Azhag The Slaughterer is way to strong as six trolls.

Where did you hear this? I suspected GW would do paired releases but not very regularly. The shields on the new emblem for the game suggest chaos will be paired with High Elves but Empire is central so not sure if that's anything to go by. Perhaps all the old stuff will come back in one go and then we will get some new things occasionally (depending on how this sells).
I’m so excited for this game. I got into
Warhammer via AoS so I never got to play Fantasy. I’ve always wanted to play.
I can imagine painting them up to look like Fisher Price toys
I'm interested to see how the game turns out. New morale basically makes everyone stubborn, and if they fail modified LD they either scoot back or run back which seems to be to the defender's advantage. It looks like we are going to strict initiative for fighting order, with charger getting a bonus. It kind feels like we are going back to 8th edition, but I hope it all works out.
Refreshing to see the traditional battlefield back.

Bit curious - will the other armies models be available for purchase on launch? I mean the old models for WHFB rather than subbing in, say, AOS models.
Well, I have my old tomb kings. Brettonia, greenskins, lizardmen, skaven, and chaos dwarfs dusted off and ready for the fight.

Will we be seeing rules and sets for Skaven’s Orcs and Goblins also Ogres?
Skaven and Ogres are legacy as of this first wave, so they get a PDF army list.
Orcs and Goblins are in the upcoming Ravening Hordes book that cover the "evil armies" army list.
Orcs are a Core faction so they'll be coming soon enough. Ogres, and skaven are currently 'legacy' armies and will get a free PDF but are not in the Old World currently.
The rules for Orcs and Gobbos will be in the "Ravening Hordes" Book, which will be available right on release. The Ogres and Skaven, not being one of the focus armies, will receive free pdf rules, sometimes soon after the game drops.
Orcs have just been revealed today unsure if they are gonna stand a chance against Bretonnia etc
Time to dig out the old warriors of chaos.
Blimey this makes me feel old...... I still have the original Bretonnians and Green-Skin Lizards battle-set up in the attic....all painted of course.
Would it be crazy to suggest a video game adaptation of this very thing? Minimal figurine animation outside of the movements from A-B?
Literally a hand making all the movements to static objects. Maybe some special effects on impact during battle, but otherwise a straight adaptation to capture the table top feel.
