    T-H-E most important thing about Madeira, Funchal IS it's FLOWER FESTIVAL around the first and second weeks in May. It is not to be missed. I just happened to be there about 10 years ago, from a cruise port, on a time they were having such, and since then I purposedly look for cruises that stop there then. I will be there in the Royal Caribbean Anthem May 4 & 5, and CANNOT wait!

    It's not known as the island of eternal spring.
    It is known as the pearl of the Atlantic!

    Hi - would you recommend a tour from the ship that includes the cable car/toboggan and Madeira tasting or would you do it independently? Thanks

    • @ritzytravelguide
      @ritzytravelguide  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi, we organised ours independently, so we could control how we did it, but if the ship also does it, no problem. Ships tours are generally about 50% more expensive... but for some the ease, and peace of mind is worth it.

      Hello can you tell me if I can reach the cable car by foot from the port? And the toboggan ride ?

    • @ritzytravelguide
      @ritzytravelguide  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi, the cable car is a gentle stroll from the port. We walked from the ship. The toboggan is at the top of the cable car, just a few minutes walk.

    Toboggan price for 2 people has increased to €35 as per late October 2023, quickly putting it on course to become another tourist trap. CR7 museum a relative 'bargain' at €5 pp.

    Hi, I am booked on Azura, P&O for October 2025 with a toddler and baby. We are stopping here. I never seen one child or baby in your video but worried I've made the wrong decision booking this cruise.

      Hi there, P&O, and indeed the Azura does frequently take children. Though in October there may well be less in board, as that is term time.
