  • The video may seem warped at times because it has been stabilized. The original version was too shaky since I held it by hand. The battery does die at the end so you will miss the rest of his show.
    Yes there is annoying laughter somewhere near me. I'm sorry about that as well. Enjoy!

    No one can deny that the emotions in the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin on top of the volcano were there. It was amazing when I saw it.

    • @existenceisrelative
      @existenceisrelative Před 10 lety +7

      There were some vaguely emotional bits in there. But since it was stretched out over twenty minutes of lightsaber-whacking, it's not quite as memorable.

      ***** "I HAAAATTE YOU!"

    • @JazGalaxy
      @JazGalaxy Před 9 lety +9

      existenceisrelative Really? I seriously teared up when Obi Wan is like "YOU WERE LIKE A BROTHER TO ME!!". I LOVED the 3rd film. It wasn't perfect, but I really dug the story they were trying to tell and I thought they pulled off the emotional moments incredibly well. Whether Lucas really achieved it, or I simply give him credit because I want to like it, I really enjoyed how it truly felt like Anakin was slipping into madness. When something horrific happens, or you stay up too long and start running on fumes, you start to feel like nothing is real and everything becomes dream-like. I really felt like Anakin's slipping into his Vader persona in one night was a stroke of brilliance because I wouldn't have bought a slow transition. It really felt like they orchestrated events perfectly by having Anakin indirectly kill Windu by not helping him with Palpatine. I really bought that it was the kind of decision one could make in a split second, but that, once you think about it, peels back the layers of reality by having to come to terms with what just happened. Then he has to come to terms with the fact that his mentor, the one he thought was the ultimate good-guy is really the ultimate evil. But he's being told that evil is really good. Then he's further pushed over the edge by murdering the children, something he has already done with the Sandpeople. At that point he's just a complete nutcase and it felt earned.
      Man, now I want to watch that again.

    He didn't ruin your childhood, remember that he's just showing you something that you can watch with your kids and then fresh batch of movies all new trilogy for the new generation before I say so on and the process repeats itself. They are all different movies with unique settings and travel across tons of planets and environments and seeing other worlds in new and exciting ways. You can show your kids your old pre special edition vhs original trilogy before bringing them to see the new ones cuz they're so timeless and the physical practical fx that go hands on don't end up looking corny by future generations looking back on it cuz they had the best team with years of experience from long before they started filming a new hope. George Lucas is a man who believed in a dream and put it on film and that's what Kevin Smith is as well.

    Funny thing, Jay and Silent Bob are basically copies of R2 and C-3PO thematically. R2 and C-3PO are copies of a pair of slaves in a Japanese movie, the Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa, which also forms the basis for most of IV: A New Hope. Toshiro Mifune was even supposed to play Obi-Wan originally, as Obi-Wan is based on his character from The Hidden Fortress, the General. Funny he goes to Japan and the reporter connects things.

    And now I'm crying like a baby over "We made it Pete". One of my best friends who I grew up with isn't doing too good right now and he's really sick. I'm sorry but I need to get this out...
    He's the oldest of 3 brothers, and both he and his youngest brother were born with a very rare disorder, with a very long name that I have no idea how to spell.
    This disorder effects the spine and brain, and it could start in the lower spine and work it's way up, or start in the brain and if it starts there, you only have about a year to live after first showing symptoms. When starting in the brain you start to forget things, and it gets progressively worse until you die. The youngest brother had this one, and unfortunately he passed away before he ever turned 20. That one was sad, seeing a friend younger than you dying and you're only 20 years old, it messed me up, and I can't even imagine what it did to his family. His poor parents didn't have any money, and the poor kid looked so bad that they had to close his casket at the funeral. He didn't even get a tombstone till his parents were able to save up enough money to buy him one.
    If the disorder starts in the spine and works it's way up you get accending paralysis, along with a whole lot of other terrible symptoms, and a life expectancy of about 40 years. That's what my buddy, the oldest brother has, and he's currently 42.
    It's breaking my heart seeing him the way he is now, cause now he's starting to forget things and saying things that don't make any sense. He was so inspiring, he'd go to the gym with his walker every day, every single day, and he'd use the treadmill to the best of his ability. It was so humbling to watch, and whenever I felt like I had it bad, I'd think of him and I'd instantly get myself out of the funk I was in.
    God I'm really gonna miss you Johnny, when I go to see you now, and I can tell that you don’t recognize me anymore it breaks my heart. I know you don't have much time left, and I'm trying to help your family as best I can. I hope I have a "We made it, Johnny" moment in the future, like Kevin did with his friend Pete. I hope I can help your family in any way. Your poor brother feels so guilty for being born healthy, IDK what to say to him. I can barely look at your mom and dad in the eyes, I just can't imagine their pain.
    Now that I'm older and I have some money put away I promise that I won't let your funeral be like your brothers. You won't have to wait for a tombstone like he did, and if you want to be buried back in Peru, we'll figure out a way to make that happen for you. I love you brother, it will not be the same without you.

    If it was Kenji Ohba then the View Askewniverse has its link to Super Sentai and there could be a team of cleancut young superheroes who are color coded and ethnically diverse and don't do drugs and are in excellent shape who have strange wristbands and unusual cellphones and disappear for 10 minutes at a time and always run as a group but also do volunteer work and all that wholesome stuff... Except these teens were assigned to... Leonardo, New Jersey which is driving distance from Red Bank.

    What a great guy Kevin Smith is. He interveiws another true gent in WWE LEGEND Mick Foley on his radio show. 2 witty men shooting the shit it was music to my ears. Also RESPECT to KEV for helping his longtime friend & partner in crime The 1&only JASON MEWES FOR KICKING an addiction. I hope he is still fighting the good fight.
