I have them both and I love different aspects of each. Bellows on the eureka help with retention, but fluffiness of the baratza grind in exceptional. While some users can notice the difference in taste between conical and flat burrs, I’m not in that league.

I have flat burr grinder (E5SD) but the fluffy grind of sette 270 get me keep going back using it....

I’ve never tried a flat burr set that I enjoyed coffee-wise. And I’d rather grind for weight anyday. Once it’s dialed in it’s just set it grind it and go. Instead of having to weigh out the beans. It’s just after. And I enjoy conical burr for my coffee anyway. So it’s always the sette. I don’t know what’s the hype about flat burrs.

They have fewer boulders and fines, main thing is the fines, which can get bitter. You want most particles in the middle, and flat is better for that.

Moved from the Eureka to the 270wi last week. Suddenly, the Eureka wouldn't stop clumping and jamming. Got tired of cleaning it.

I haven't cleaned mine for 4 years, until it jammed last week. It's been fine since cleaning and re-bending the anti-clog thing

Grinding by weight wins everytime. Zero waste and it’s just easier. I’d rather the convenience of having a scale on my grinder. I don’t have either. But my next grinder will for sure have a scale. And I’ll be damned if I pay over $600 for a coffee grinder. I rather like my balls and my wife would take them from me the second she heard how much I spent.

I just got a Baratza 270 and the amount of static on the beans is crazy. It making such a mess. Ive read posts about wetting the beans but I'm not down with having to do that all the time.

If you ever have to replace the burr, it's cheap...like 30 CAD... I have RDT it and it works great

The sette is actually very well behaved when it comes to static due to the use of anti-static plastics, but very dry beans creates static no matter the grinder. I'd suggest trying another roaster.

just spray a little bit of water on the beans. You just need one dash. this will help.

Thanks. Nice the Eureka has the Libra option for grinding by weight too. I’m really trying to consider which grinder to get at the minute.

We have reviewed the Libra on a separate video, as it wasn’t out at the time of filming this video. The Libra is awesome 👌🏼

And also $1000. No thanks. No grinder is worth that much money.

Iam not sure what you are talking about but grinding by weight is so fast it cant be compared to,press and go on the wi.

The chincy plastic hopper on the Eureka and also the poor design and finish of the portafilter holder is disappointing. If they got improved those two things I would be a buyer. For a $270 saving the Baratza a better option

Depends on which markets you are in and where you are shopping.
On our site only $80 difference between 270Wi and Specialita...
      We sell them for:
      Baratza 270 AUD 529
      Baratza 270Wi AUD 779
      Eureka Specialita AUD 699
(price on 10.01.2023 and subject to change)

@@CoffeePartsTV Comparing the same units (time only dosing), it makes the Eureka 30% more expensive when compared to the Baratza (529 -> 699)
