  • UPDATE: AT&T TV has been renamed DIRECTV STREAM as of August 26, 2021. See my updated review here: • DIRECTV STREAM Review:...
AT&T TV has launched no-contract plans after merging with AT&T TV Now in January 2021. In this video, I share the one and only AT&T TV plan that I would consider signing up for. The price isn't cheap, but the AT&T TV Choice package with no annual contract includes regional sports networks that some other live TV streaming services do not offer as of this recording.

When AT&T TV was around it gave free 500 hours of cloud DVR storage for free, only if you signed a 2-year contract. I have to say that the idea for AT&T TV to give 500 hours of FREE Cloud DVR storage to people who signed a 2-year contract is pretty pitiful. So, AT&T TV was basically forcing you to sign a 2-year contract if you wanted 500 hours of FREE Cloud DVR storage.

I signed up for AT&T tv before the no contact option. I love my AT&T tv feels more like traditional cable. I love the voice control which was similar to what I had with the Xfinity x1 platform. Also when I was traveling I was able to watch my dvr and also local channels out Of the house similar to a CZcams tv. 2nd year is quite expensive and am hoping when my promo is up in May they will give me a some type of discount but am very satisfied with the service.

    Hi,
I’m a new subscriber. You did a great job explaining this plan. I’m an ex CZcamstv subscriber. I dropped it for Sling blue with sports ($40) when they dropped the regional networks. I wanted to watch my local hockey team but I won’t spend $85 plus whatever fee to do it. I’m doing antenna for locals which works fairly well. I may also buy a tablo for dvr.

@@MichaelSaves From what I have read, AT&T is in serious negotiations with TPG to sell DirecTv.
If it goes thru, they will be taking a pretty hefty loss on what they bought it for, so look for even higher prices, unless they are willing to take their lumps, and try to be more competitive with other streaming services.
So far they haven't been willing to do that, but IF they do, I think they will attract a lot of new customers, as long as they don't reduce the streaming quality.

Here's the big if... If AT&T keeps it at this price point but picks up the channels it's missing, then it will be worth it. Right now, it's the only service, if you live in the NY/NJ area, that offers both MSG (and their overflow channels) and the Yes Network. It still needs WPIX here but Hulu and CZcams are both hit and miss with a lot of other cable channels as well (C-Span, History, Axs, etc.) that AT&T currently carries. It's more expensive now so, in my mind, they shouldn't be thinking about any price increases any time soon. If they don't pick up the NFL Network and the Redzone channel before this fall, I might be switching back to someone that does offer them though. One last thing, the $10 a month for unlimited DVR is ridiculous. They're already charging considerably more per month for their service. They shouldn't be nickel and diming people for their DVR. That's how you can tell they are still just a big cable company with that big cable company mindset we all cut the cord to try to get away from.

Personally, I believe the prices of those plans plus the cost of internet service is on par with cable tv bundles. Therefore, there will not be a benefit to cutting the cord. AT&T is just too expensive and I don’t see how they will compete in the streaming services market. @@MichaelSaves Wow. $200 per month? I was paying $144 per month and that was outrageous. I think when you try to replicate the cable experience you run into trouble and that’s where people run to those high price services. Once you really decide what you need you come to realize that those $200 cable packages is really excess. Then, cord cutting becomes advantageous because you start to pay for only things that you need which is what I was able to accomplish.
