The Gemini Air with DIRECTV service is a robust entertainment system with all the conveniences that you expect out of a premium system. In my experience the guide was easy to navigate and with access to over 60,000 on demand TV Show and Movies, I was able to view all my favorite content that I enjoy. The Gemini Air supports 4K and HDR content and the Video and Audio quality was simply stunning. Local channels are important so I was pleased to see that DIRECTV supports that as well and I was excited to see that that DIRECTV has unlimited cloud storage that I can view from the Gemini AIR, TV, and mobile application. This is a great service for some one looking for alternative to their current provider.

Hi i live in the uk and am interested in what you mentioned a cloud system with storage for up to 9 months I don't think we have this in the uk and as we are gradually moving on to total internet tv . Perhaps the big companies like Sky and Virgin etc are dragging their feet.Is this part of the DIRECTTV or is it your service provider?
I received on of these devices for Beta testing. They are pretty great when they work. I am hitting about the 2 year mark of use and am on my 3rd unit. The latest was delivered last week and within 2 days was exhibiting the same issue as the last two. I get a black screen when I turn the entertainment system on and after about 30 seconds I get a prompt on the screen that allow me to select 4 different options, one being to perform a system reset. That always works but this failure has happened multiple times in a single week and I will usually experience it at least once every 2-3 weeks. I also occasionally get the blue swirling buffering circle on the screen. None of the hard resets or other troubleshooting solutions solves the problem.
Question...when you turn it on does it automatically go to the last Directv channel? Like the way you would turn on Satellite DirecTV? Or do you have to scroll and open up the DirecTV app?
What’s up man. I just signed up for DirectTV streaming service and this popped up when I searched the remote on CZcams. Straight to the point and 100% exactly what I needed to see. Great job man.

Hi Steve. I cut the cord a long time ago and went with CZcams TV using the Fire Stick. I'm very happy with it and the price can't be beat. The problem is that my 90-year-old Dad recently had to move in with me and the Fire Stick remote has been impossible for him to comprehend. Also, the fact that "channels" don't have numbers just makes it that much harder. The remote you use in this video looks very user-friendly and the system uses channel numbers. What I need to know is, does the Gemini Air and remote take the place of my Fire Stick? I wish these tech companies would consider the elderly population when developing these things.

Yes, use the DIRECTV app on all of your other devices. You will not have integrated app but you can watch the content
If you have DirecTV satellite service with the DVR can you still use the Gemini or do you have to switch equipment? I can get one for free so I'm trying to learn about it.
The Gemini air in this video is streaming only - no satellite. What you are being offered is the traditional Gemini which uses your satellite, as well as your internet to stream. If you already have a Genie receiver, you will keep it, and the Gemini will work in tandem with it. Long story short, you'll keep your equipment, and because it still leverages the satellite, is better than the Gemini Air.

@@captainobvious8665 Thanks, I did order one and got it a couple of days ago. Seems to work fine except when you turn things off the Gemini and TV shut down but not the satellite receiver. After a couple of hours watching pre-recorded shows the satellite receiver goes into standby mode. Don’t quite understand that part. Any ideas?

@@TechSteve Thanks. I just realized that the remote / Gemini device is not available with Directv Stream without a contract and equipment fees. It is a shame since it is one of the most full featured remotes. I wonder if we could but one on eBay and have it work for streaming only without contract?
@archidube stream is just a app, the Gemini streamer supports 4k, HDR and Dolby Atmos Audio
If I want to use this with several tv's do I have to buy one for each tv?
Yes but you get access to the Direct TV app as well, you need the streamer for HDR and better Dolby Audio formats

I am in Arizona, how do I get like this all the sports channels in California? And all the sports channels on the Chicago in Washington DirecTV the gym? And I cause I'm in a group home that I can't have a satellite dish hooked up too much. My house so I had to have something. Has internet and you'd be able to use one like my paypal

Can you buy the Gemini Air Device rather than paying $15 a month for every TV?
Normally the first device is free depending on qualifications. Now you can buy them but they are 60 a pice or if u qualified for installments then they can do that as well but of course it will go on your monthly bill

Most brands are supported but I would use HDMI Arc for audio then the tv can control it

I don't watch commercials does the recorded streaming allow you to skip commercials.
There’s some no skip about but mort are plus it has on demand
@@TechSteve Thanks Tech Steve for your response I'll try to explain better I do not watch any shows live I tape everyone to watch later. I have cable boxes so I can fast-forward thru commercials I watch the fast-forward comercials and support any products that support the shows I watch. If I steam can I fast-forward thru commercials or do I need to stay with cable???
I had Directv for 20 years, but after they got so expensive I had to change to Sling 🙏
Unfortunately not every tv in my house is a smart tv, so we got the Gemini for our room. My problem is that at the "Set up Wireless Network" the Gemini won't let me enter my password to get access to my internet. The remote is paired and my network is highlighted, but it won't let me do anything else ? Not a good start to a new service..
How do you get to the setup wizard?
When I plugged in, you would have to factory reset. But why all the options are in the setup menu

@Spankydoodle I explained in the video, unlimited recording but it stores on the cloud. You can play back anytime. I thinki it deletes around 9months

They charge you for all that equipment right? Along with the package choice costs, expensive. Nothing special here.
I'm upset. I was watching this video because when I go to direct TV about how to turn off closed captioning it only gives a text information about how to do it. No pictures. I'm here at my house trying to instruct my elderly parent about how to use your device that has no visual instructions. So I cannot instruct them on how to use it. I will never get this if this is gonna be customer service.
I’m not impressed with this device for a few reasons. Starting with parental controls that don’t prevent people from buying programs, and it also freezes up from time to time. If they don’t improve this device I will be back paying xfinity high prices.
Way too expensive, you can get at least the same for a lot less
This guy must be associated with direct tv. All you need is an android box and a decent internet connection and google iptv services and you will find plenty of choices with 10x the number of channels and VOD for 20 dollars or less a month.
I’m actually not associated it’s a sponsored video for them, You may be lucky because most of the iptv streamers I’ve seen are rebroadcasting content from the original sources from a hidden relay server. My friend had a tricked out firestick but after they seen my service they were amazed of how much picture quality was depleted on their unit. I like to always promote legitimate companies but it’s just a video and you don’t have to subscribe to the service it’s just information for those who are interested.
Why are you shilling for this company. Only way to get one of these is to sign a contract. They’ve clearly not learned their lesson.
My wife and I signed up through att and you actually can choose to not have a contract instead just choice month to month that way you can cancel at anytime
