  • 295 | It's been a week of hot ones here in Siem Reap as the Southeast Asian heat wave swelters on. My walks always throw the tuk-tuk drivers into a feeding frenzy when they spot a foreigner roaming the streets and sweating profusely. Surely he will want to hire a tuk-tuk. I hate to disappoint but I always do.

What a change from over a month ago back home to this 42 degrees heat... yikes! Do drink lots of water Bill and happy exploring. Since I've not been to Siem Reap before, I'll be following you religiously.

Right about the water. The very hot weather was during my first week there. The last two weeks were never over 40°. But is was still hot and very humid. I've experienced warm weather in other places but my time in Siem Reap was one for the record books.

The amount of 'no thanks' spoken in a day must be high I guess. Anyways, for me Google Map is a necessity app even on my iPhone not just because it works well but due to the curated information by users.

The number of 'offers' I get for rides is off the chart. Either business is very bad at this time of year or there are too many tuk tuk drivers in Siem Reap. Tourism is the main industry.

@@InternationalBigshot not been there before but I am sure tourism is a huge driver

The down side of Cambodia, they won't let u walk, every few blocks someone is asking if u wanna ride. They don't think tourist just want to walk around look & get lost..

I know, it was so mentally draining to have to say no to people every few minutes. It takes the wonder out of seeing a new place.
