- Tyler Childers celebrated his new album, "Rustin' In The Rain," by performing the entire album with his band, The Food Stamps, as part of the Grand Ole Opry's live broadcast on Tuesday, Sept. 5th, just a few days before the public release of the album. S.G. Goodman and Erin Rae joined them on stage to perform "Space and Time," which was written and originally recorded by Goodman.

This song holds profound significance for me, embodying two pivotal moments in my life. The first, a joyous occasion, was when I married my husband amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee in 2020-a memory cherished for its sheer beauty and love.
The second, tinged with sorrow, was when I received the heartbreaking news of my father's passing on Earth Day, 2024. As we solemnly drove to lay him to rest, the song played just as we turned into the cemetery, as if guided by divine timing. In that moment, amidst my grief, I felt my father's presence envelop me, his love echoing through the lyrics, reassuring me that he'll never leave without expressing his love.
He told my 3 y.o. son, Husband and I that he loved us that Sunday night, and tomorrow never came for us to see my Father again or hear his voice once more. ♡
Though his physical presence may be gone, his love remains a steadfast presence in my life. Every time those familiar lyrics resound, they serve as a bittersweet reminder of his enduring love and the indelible mark he left on my heart, my siblings and especially his wife of 49 yeara our mother, Vicky. Please pray for her to continue to be stong.
I find solace in knowing that he's finally free from pain and suffering, but the ache of his absence lingers. Yet, amidst the grief, there's a glimmer of comfort knowing that he'll always be with me, watching over me like a guardian angel.

I’ve loved this guy since I first heard him a while ago. So I hear him do this tune and think wow this is really something different. Not sure if I like it. Listen a couple more times to it, and just can’t believe how good it is. Jeez, Tyler is a talent for the ages. Amazing. I just know he’ll surprise me again.

This was the Grand Ole Opry bringing Tyler on to sing the songs from his new album before it was released. Tyler brought her on a featured guest, and she did another of her songs solo. But do you understand the first part of what I said? Probably not.
She does a set of her own later in the show. Believe me, she does not mind :-)

She's the one in the middle....
I love this song just the way it is with Tyler singing lead and the others singing background vocals. That’s what makes it so special.
Tyler has been good to SG Goodman, from the beginning he has asked her if he could cover this song... and now 2024 she is going out on tour with him. He wants everyone to know her amazing talent.
I listen to her version all the time, and I know Tyler loves her. I only wish we could have heard her voice more in this performance so that people would know how amazing her voice is with her song. Why do people have to be so negative?
