I think some people just start new gacha for the rush of free stuff and pulling, but once the games settles in to a groove, where you should be grinding, building and learning, they leave.

The level lock in the story is what actually did the job for me i guess. Once i reached it i literally just beat the shit out of the events, upgrading my favorite character, completing event quests, etc.
Yeah, the story locked by level is annoying but once you got all the characters built you went through, it's just the stalling that drives people crazy.
You don't need 3 weeks for 5* weapons btw, you can do the lowest difficulty in Nightmare mode Solo(Yes, coop solo, it's very easy) and in the 21 runs you definitely getting good chances of getting a 5* since solo. Then if you can't use it you can break or save for resonances. I have all my units with 5*s that way, 100% f2p no wp banner.
another issue is when they rush too much they forget that each boss and character fights differently and requires learning mechanics and developing muscle memory.. so they get rektd too much until they rage quit
I watched someone rage for two straight hours on stream during Prophetic Sequence against the parry ball Hetero-Hive Mother because they couldn't cheese the boss. We were all telling him to calm down.
Thanks, I feel a lot of people sell themselves short because this game has the, "This game is Dark Souls of gacha", yes, there is high difficulty content, but you don't have to do a no-hit run to clear it. I've seen way too many people on the verge of getting to level 80, which is endgame, only to quit literally TWO LEVELS away from endgame.

I'm a day 1 player with full catch up on all story chapters with all characters pulled. For the casual player just focus on the story and event grinding until you have a stable teams. Do your weeklies and dailies the other stuff imo is just for people who want to sweat.
I don't know but I finished the Memory Rescue Heisen Recommended Lv:60 at level 26. I'm new just playing the game for only a day and I'm planning to beat Shakespeare Lv:70. I only use Plume, Liv, and I got lucky and got S Rosetta in basic cards pulls. IDK if Im rushing things or I am just having a blast cuz the game is way too fun.
I think I have the opposite problem of rushing everything. There's so many options that I don't even level up a lot of things because I don't want to mess up.
The easiest way to not mess up your memories is to use the Gray Raven's fan wiki and look up the character you're working on, once you get the memory set on them it's impossible to mess up leveling the character the rest of the way.
It's funny; I'm the opposite, I spent prob way too much time building my Rosetta (just need her Unique Weapon tho I went full Catherine set when I should've got Leewenhuek in some slots lookin at some builds) and only progressing story when I needed to unlock the resource missions. A lot of people say story until Chap 9 is boring, but I think it's just slow though I guess it helps I read fast and get through the scenes in 1 min. Half the other time was spent doing Recitativo for Selena and the Prophetic stuff (tried doing winter defense, shit was hard). Just need 2 more pulls for Nanami Starfarer, can get about 2 or 3 of her mem set from spamming Cosmic Glow (free 6* every 8 runs, why not spam it peeps) Only problem is the weapons that I don't know where to get tickets (doing Co-op for that 5* wep chance)
Despite me getting my rear handed to me in this game, I feel it's pretty good experience so far. I can feel the whole "Punishing" part when I don't time my dodges and end up getting slapped around like a test dummy. I just recently reached lvl 60 so I'm not sure how long it would take to get lvl80, anyways the game for me is enjoyable, the wait for the PC client for me felt pretty worth it.

i think people don't quit, they're just hiatus waiting for future updates, global don't pretty much have the hype cause we already knows whats been coming, and sometimes players just play the cn server or different server that not too outdated like the global, i think they should make global updates much faster to catch up to cn it's better if the cn only had 1 patch ahead to global and not a ridiculous 1 year of content.
i actually dont mind grinding i love grinding and upgrading favorite characters and everything, it's just the limit of playing missions or anything that requires the serum feature of punishing gray raven, i would love playing it more and more and more if i didnt have to keep worrying about the serum stuff because once the serum runs out and you dont have any items that give you serum, you're pretty much not gonna be able to do a lot but play the next day, of course there is also the other events that you can participate in that you can still play your favorite characters as but the grinding for upgrades is halted or otherwise very slowed because of the serum feature which is always so annoying when you're in the zone and the game denies it because you dont have enough to keep playing for resources that get you better results i have no problem with rushing and non-rushing, if i die a couple times it just means i've gotta second-think who i want as one of my mains in my team composition and invest more time in leveling things up i just hope they just remove the serum stuff, it really stops me from building also great video by the way, 10/10
This vid is facts I started 4 days ago witch was September 24th and I already have 3 S rank physical characters that's my main team and i got all their 6 star memories in less than a week plus my level is 61 for this progress I'm just looking through a lot of CZcams content on things to avoid doing so I don't make them in the early game and it's been going well so far, basically i was rushing but i also took time to stop and think about my next move.
since i started this game like 3 or 4 days ago and still unlocking stuffs, played and experience the warzone and still at 5-11 of my journey as lvl 49 commandant, still figuring out on where to get decent weapons wihout using the BC :'D....still using the 4star i picked up somewhere with my Vera-Rozen, and have Liv-Eclipse (lvl32) and Nanami-Storm (lvl 35) (and yes stillusing them since tutorials lols, only Vera Rozen is my rolled character since i got the 2500 Besic Construct tickets from awards, i got nothing yet noted to invest much, only Vera lols. for now, i did what i could, tryied the events, i tested the coop, (very ashamed since i cant still do it) and tried solo ( i think the event right now is The Ark Beyond)... yeah will see, i do play Aether Gazer, Nikke, Eversoul, Genshin and HSR, lel.... i know too much too handle, not to mention PGR i heard is grindy and im getting tortured of being slapped while trying not to spend much stamina on dodges :'D....
Can only say, different people play games with different intensions and attitudes, someone want to finish the game in 1 day, someone enjoy playing a little bit in many days, Someone comes for certain contents or specific character, someone are waiting to enjoy new contents every month Kuro cannot satisfy all kind of people, i hope they just make the game become what they want it to be
Whenever I play coop, my character lags 2-3s even though I have green connection so I avoid it.. I also skip events that need 3 or more teams because I barely have 2 built teams atm.. Also hate the tower def event.. My only motivation playing is the upcoming Bianca and Alpha >_

ngl ive rushed the story and event and currently im on chapter 18 but ive never ran into a point where my characters cant beat said stage. and im a casual player. most of my characters are 80 6* memories and 2 6*weapon. ive been using alpha, A.r vera sss now , and a.r chrome whos now s from the start of the game btw f2p
I took breaks from the game mainly because I do not like the story. It feels all over the place and it looks like the writers have no idea what they wanted to do when making the original premise. Everything else about the game is top-notch, but it’s a big turn off for me when I can easily tell that a game’s sense of identity in terms of the kind of story it wants to be is obviously muddied. The only reason why I’m coming back is because of Black Rock Shooter.
i got baited by random mention of this game on gacha stream and so happened alpha just released global and she is badass so i got motivated, and there is pc client, im enjoying so far the game, got alpha ss1 with weapon 6* liv lux ss5 and arclight ss, with full sets in just 3 weeks or so, while not skipping anything no matter how borring or deppressing story was)) the game gives alot of activities and events while honkai starrail i also play is only pretty without content for weeks bettween banners
rexlent has also shown him beating the hardest content in the game as f2p as well as he has an NA server account thats entirely f2p he only whaled on cn

This is an awful lot of word to say "just play the game, upgrade your characters and don't expect to beat the end content in a week". In other words have common sense.
I don't know if that's the problem for at least half the players, I beat "everything" at half the power in two weeks without any guides (every chapter available to me until 12 or something when it says it's not currently available). With the current event it's easy to get 6 star memories too, and the game has the missions that direct you to leveling things. I'm in the process of quitting because the enemies are pretty boring after this long, even if the characters feel good to play. I'm not sure what's supposed to change after lv80, but I can play a little longer to go see for myself.
You will have the ability to fully raise your character and access endgame, you've been able to try some of it during the event but Norman Revival Plan is where the difficulty spike is, along with Babel Tower that was in this event if you didn't try it, it's the hardest game mode that is where the diehards go for difficult content. Also, try the Chaos and Hell stages of Phantom Pain Cage if you want your difficulty spike.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 Norman revival plan is one of the reasons I want to quit, the enemy positioning and AI is so trash it becomes impossibly annoying to match the timer. I did everything with the trial characters up to the last boss, but when I was trying to disable the nonsense that is the regenerating shield I couldn't clear the last fight from their spawn points and the stalling attacks with the characters I had left. Maybe I'll try to kill the boss directly through the shields, but I'll probably run into the same problem with it's frequency. Babel tower is better if it's the one I played, but also with annoying garbage on top like the rng lightning. The player has so much agency I haven't seen anything difficult yet, but they spoil the great combat with bad AI, a timer and those random effects. I'm still level 73, I'll at least see what I feel about level 80 before leaving now so I guess the video served it's purpose. Though honestly, I'm not holding my breath for it.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 I understand that, I used my better characters which are still lower power level in comparison in the earlier stages, with a trial dps to clear faster. But assuming they didn't build the trial characters poorly, it should be the same thing right? Especially with the kind of problem I'm having with it being just the enemy AI doing nothing when I need to go into the matrix to do damage, enemies chilling with 6 health bars at each edge of the map instead of in a position you can group and damage, attacks that stall time because they dash the whole screen or jump into the air... it's all a mess when they added a tight timer to it.
I just play when I feel like it, training with bosses in celica class etc. Don't want to play it for hours because it is not a game designed to be played that long per day. As for norman, sure the trial characters won't do much to progress especially starting from 3rd stage where they start getting more tanky. You will eventually need your own build up characters to blast through it with enemies that sometimes move too much or just straight up running away from your character. 3rd or 4th stages should be where any players able to clear it. EX norman at 5th stage, the enemies start to ramp up where they can deal ALOT of damage even your with your maxed out characters. 6th stage? even super whale can't clear it if they cannot position themselves/enemies correctly, F2p Tryhard might be able to but with alot of retries, trick enemies AI to do something specific etc. Well, every people have their own preference for game. Just want to share mine here.
Also what I've noticed: People come in thinking you can get at least 3 S Ranks after 1-2 weeks and then realize that they get between like 5-6 pulls only per week after playing every day and then claim the rates are bad and the game isn't as f2p friendly as everybody says. And the tutorial skipping. They don't see the importance of QTEs, core passive, switching between characters, correct equipment, etc. All they see for the first week is orbs that are generated randomly and that they are there to get pinged immediately for "fast damage". They don't see any of that and then think the combat system is blant, way too easy and repetitive.
Some of us helped a new player streaming the game and we got them to play No. 21’s tutorial after he pulled her and when he did it clicked for him and he was having so much fun playing the game.
This game is just very hard after finish main story. This how many mechanics and possibilities is there make players confused and after recognize how critical mistakes they do in one moments (Resonance, upgrading and much more) they quit. Simple challange force players to understand how fight works is hard. 3 characters in one team with skills description like a books. This game punishing players step by step 😂
I think one of the biggest reasons people quit is that Kuro games mismarkets this game. They so the crazy fights and when you get in the game that dream is far far away. Which for alot of people when they see that mountain of grind its a wrap usually. Second reason is no english voice over. A big way to retain a bigger player base is the story...if its alot of reading all the time people are less likely to stay. Another big downer is some of the events feel like chores instead of fun. A few honorable mentions, Coop is at a fixed time and the ping system. All in all Kuro games has a good gacha that is better than most. But there are alot of gachas doing this same thing near. I wager you will see alot more people warm up to WW over this game.
KuroGame doesn’t market the game all you ever see is fan content made by creators that are very talented but people don’t realize the characters they use are unreleased on global, don’t realize the creator is a whale with a maxed out character and that it takes immense skill and practice to do a no-hit run.
I honestly think my biggest issue with PGR is the mode at which they tell their story. I usually get hyped for gacha games because of storytelling but unfortunately i am leaning more towards aether gazer because they do that aspect well. I really don't want to be reading a novel while playing a game.
In my opinion people don't get the real reason we play the game. The story is great and all but it's the game play it self that is the key factor. Story is easy the whole way through and that goes for the bosses, the real hype bosses are outside the story and you need to get good for those. I play story for the story, I read it and enjoy it cuz the story level are way too easy by design. Also u can't whale this game, u can drop $10k and still lose so I agree that rexlent is a skilled player and it's not cuz of money. The game is hard in gameplay as well as building ur stuff, we should all focus on the that. It's DMC, it's MGR, it's soulsborne, you'll have more fun if u put in work.
Its the character design for me, everything else about the game is greet but the character designs. I'll give Kuro one thing they definitely made the constructs look less human.
I quited PGR for more than a year (I recently came back thanks to the pc launcher) for two mayor reason, in the country where I live you can't download the game from the app store, so I had to reinstall the APK in my android simulator each time a mayor update came, which were annoying when I was just trying to use my limited time to play the game, that plus the freaking grind really make me quit the game. I totally get your point of rushing the story under geared, I was not even rushing but I push the story until it wasn't a skill issue anymore (chapter 9), but because the basic mobs were killing me just by looking at my general direction, so I crashed against a wall where I couldn't play the story anymore (which is what I am more interested in) because I needed to grind gear, but grind memories and weapons is so confusing and annoying specially when you don't have good enough grasp of all the mechanics of the game, that I just said "f%ck this sh#t I am out", I think that PGR should mimic Honkai Impact 3rd in how the player can advance through the story, in Honkai basically the game lends you fully geared trial characters to complete all the story campaing without you needing to use your own characters if you don't want to, this simple thing make me invest so much time an attention to honkai that I can't even believe it, because to know the characters, their stories, their place in the world, really motivated me to gear up my valkyries and try other aspects of the game (in honkai). I have played many gacha games, I am a regular at Mihoyo games (Honkai Impact 3rd and recently HSTR), I have played FGO (I quit FGO for similar reasons than PGR), Azur Lane, Girls Front Line among others, I am veteran MMORPG player (WoW, TERA, Silkroad, Guild Wars, Warframe) so grinding isn't something rare for me, but I don't know why but PGR is so unwelcoming for new players that isn't even funny, I mean to be more unwelcoming to new players than Honkai impact 3rd, Warframe or World of Warcraft is an impressive feat to be honest. However I have been playing a lot these day thanks to the pc launcher, I have geared up my basic starting team and even get a couple of interesting S rank characters, so luckily I was able to break that entry wall of the gear grinding, at least for now, but I think that how confusing and convoluted can be the different currencies in the game, the grinding and how the story mode stops you in your tracks, if you don't have gear are mayor contributors to hinder PGR's grow as game and community.

These gacha games are all the same. 2 - 3 months to get overpowered? Nah. Not gonna happen. Need at least 1 year to be powerful enough, a good team, good weapons. People are usually mistaken when they watch trailers. All gacha games i also only played for one year and quit. Because i feel i enjoyed the game enough. At least this game's S rank characters are good throughout 2 years until they are replaced by new characters. In some games, they can be replaced fast in 6 months - 1 year because they release new characters so fast for people to pull.
You do just fine without meta, the only reason people pull meta is for difficult content and high scores, you can play the game however you want. If you think that people just leave old characters behind for the new shiny ones, you're wrong, Rexlent still plays Crimson Abyss in his videos, he still uses older characters during streams, people only see the new shiny videos from him and Blanc because they only watch those videos with the newer characters.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 It is fine without meta for most gacha games. But without meta you cannot go for higher or newer contents for higher rewards and cannot do works fast. So pull for good characters is really encouraged. Old characters really will be benched when you pull new stronger characters because they're stronger and easier to use. Why not use them? Of course there're still few people use old characters because they like them or for challenges or some contents need to use many characters. It's the same for gacha type games. Go for meta is the way to live unless you got great talent and skill. At least, a character in PGR which is good throughout 2 years until they release a new one to replace them is a good thing.
The problem with not being able to rush the story is people like me who spend most of our time working aren't able to fully enjoy it on our limited play time. Shame I'm about to drop this game just because of that.
Honestly it is too much bullshit and not straight forward enough for me. I like complex systems when it comes to building a character, I don't like it when I am spammed by system stuff, do these missions for optimal rewards do x y z to enhance character. Here is another bullshit event with confusing mechanics that nobody needs to learn because it will be gone in 2 week but if you don't do it, you lose on free stuff. It is gacha crap at it's finest. It has amazing character design and the combat gameplay is not bad either but everything around it is just awful.
Story being voiced doesn't matter, I've seen how people mash the forward button in Star Rail and Genshin, they just want to get through story to do the fun stuff, so even if it was voiced, people would be rushing through it anyway.
although I like the game and the best part of the game for me is the combat. the game has its problems and many frosting things. let me point out some Ridiculous clothes that you have to walk around trying to find the differences. I'm talking about when you evolve the characters. but in general the clothes are nothing special and never make me think about putting money in the game. seeing many of the same characters but of different elements is not pleasant either but these are minor points. my biggest problems with the game. story is interesting but the way it is told and the gameplay is horrible. i was stuck in the chapter 13 Luna story not because I'm weak or have problems defeating enemies but because the mechanics were just awful. I just couldn't get motivated in going through those stupid menus doing those bs researches. now i'm on chapter 14 and the story is repeating itself it's tedious and painful to go through the chapters. another thing that annoys me a lot with this game too is the bunch of game modes that force you to play with specific characters that I don't have and the game gives me trial versions of them. NO STOP I'm playing a gacha I want to play with the characters I have. I don't want to waste my time learning combinations with a character that I don't have or that I don't like. anyway I still think it's a good game and very F2P friendly I encourage everyone to try out the game
Visual novel storytelling is normal for most mobile games because it's cheaper, Fate/Grand Order doesn't count because Type-Moon has always done visual novel storytelling, unless your name is Mihoyo and you're rolling in money where you can afford to voice every scene, not that it matters much, everyone's mashing the forward button anyway. You don't have to do everything in this game if you don't want to, you're just suffering fomo because you want the black cards but there are people that just do dailies and that's it. It's not a waste of time to learn characters because it makes you better at the game, and yes, the story will make you use characters you don't necessarily like. If you just want to use characters you like you can ignore Norman Revival Plan and Babel Tower because you'll be forced to use different characters there anyway, just do dailies but don't whine about your black cards because you don't like playing certain characters and don't want to do certain modes because you can't use the characters "you like".

@@Fiufia You can play this game however you like but you will miss out on some black cards if you skip some stuff. This is not a game where you roll all the time, it's different from most gacha that want you to roll all the time, the only time you really have to roll is when a new patch drops. If you want weapons and fancy skins you buy the passes, but as F2P you'll get most characters if you just wait a bit. Most people are used to constantly rolling for characters and you don't have to do that in this game. And you don't have to do the harder endgame content if you don't want to, they have lots of casual stuff during events that you can play instead. It IS very F2P friendly when you can get all characters outside of collabs for free if you just wait. And for the record, I only play the easy version of Norman Revival Plan, I wasn't able to do the harder event activities in this patch like Winter Sequence, but I still got a lot of activities done, you don't have to do the hard versions of content if you don't want to since there are both "hardcore" and "casual" activities during events so you just focus on what you want to do. Norman Rival Plan comes around regularly so you could just wait til you get the characters you want to do it, it's always around.

Why people quit? The game is grindy and you do the same thing again and again. Each event is just a combat or tiny variation of it. Not to mention that Kuro does not know how to make their core gameplay fun without resorting to just making them a chore. Their roguelite modes are a chore. The first one people begrudgingly do it for the free skin. The second for the character but that is even more of a chore than the first one. The prophetic surveillance or its variance before has too many levels. The story is slow and boring at the beginning. You'd say it isn't but sorry, you're the only one. Even PGR lovers admit first 8 chapters are boring as heck. Even then beyond that the visual novel style makes is a boring read as well. The game doesn't utilize any gimmick to break the drawl of VN style reading. The world and character is boring as well. Sci-fi apocalyptic? How many is this again? Made worse with Aether Gazer that provided a more interesting world and character. Why would people play this when they can play AG? Not to mention that Kuro is in a self-cycle because of you guys. You guys want PGR to be hard and wants to play it all the time, so Kuro made everything lengthy that only you guys would say it's not a chore. But to others it is. So Kuro doesn't bother market itself because they knew the normies won't stick for long and so they continue the cycle of making everything for you hardcores. So it's not surprising that PGR have low market penetration and that normies don't like it.
Man really voiced his opinion and I really respect. But I will not agree one thing, Aether Gazer's story is bad as it gets. I'll claim my reasons because I read and endured the story. Who wants a sci-fi like with super paranormal activity story like that, adding a inside conflict of the families/companies in which the world doesn't concern of? The word of things is not really descriptive and make me "What? Where and How does that work?" I apologize that I sound unreasonable, but as a story sci fi reader that takes the story in the depth of seriousness. That is my view of point.
It's not pay to win if you're not chasing the high score board. You can pull every copy of a character if you save up 15,000 per patch, where you will lose out is signature weapons, but if you want characters you can get them all if you don't roll all the time and wait for a new character to drop every patch. The game is having multiple S-rank selectors that you get for free by just doing missions in the event. You're spreading misinformation. Aether Gazer is NOT F2P friendly with 150 pulls just to get both characters you want. PGR isn't perfect but you can get all the characters, outside of collab banners for free.
As someone who almost got the S-Ranks in PGR (only Entropy is missing) without even using any Rainbow Cards, only monthly pass and as a bonus their coatings. I guarantee it is F2P, IF you knew what you were doing and how to save up. Comparing it to Aether Gazer since I'm playing both, the gacha there is BRUTAL. If you only because got a S-Rank at early, trust me. That will not going to end well later. I pulled almost 450 pulls now, but I still didn't get any S-Ranks aside from what I got Shinri and Asura. Unlike my pulls in PGR, I got Nanamech at 2 pulls, her signature weapon at 4 pulls, and her signature cub at 5 pulls. Saving a 22k+ of Black Cards. If you want evidence, I have it screenshot, but don't know how to send/upload it.

The level lock in the story is what actually did the job for me i guess. Once i reached it i literally just beat the shit out of the events, upgrading my favorite character, completing event quests, etc.
Yeah, the story locked by level is annoying but once you got all the characters built you went through, it's just the stalling that drives people crazy.
You don't need 3 weeks for 5* weapons btw, you can do the lowest difficulty in Nightmare mode Solo(Yes, coop solo, it's very easy) and in the 21 runs you definitely getting good chances of getting a 5* since solo. Then if you can't use it you can break or save for resonances. I have all my units with 5*s that way, 100% f2p no wp banner.
You can even get 5 weapon instantly at the start

another issue is when they rush too much they forget that each boss and character fights differently and requires learning mechanics and developing muscle memory.. so they get rektd too much until they rage quit
I watched someone rage for two straight hours on stream during Prophetic Sequence against the parry ball Hetero-Hive Mother because they couldn't cheese the boss. We were all telling him to calm down.

Thanks, I feel a lot of people sell themselves short because this game has the, "This game is Dark Souls of gacha", yes, there is high difficulty content, but you don't have to do a no-hit run to clear it. I've seen way too many people on the verge of getting to level 80, which is endgame, only to quit literally TWO LEVELS away from endgame.

I'm a day 1 player with full catch up on all story chapters with all characters pulled.
For the casual player just focus on the story and event grinding until you have a stable teams. Do your weeklies and dailies the other stuff imo is just for people who want to sweat.
I don't know but I finished the Memory Rescue Heisen Recommended Lv:60 at level 26. I'm new just playing the game for only a day and I'm planning to beat Shakespeare Lv:70. I only use Plume, Liv, and I got lucky and got S Rosetta in basic cards pulls. IDK if Im rushing things or I am just having a blast cuz the game is way too fun.

I think I have the opposite problem of rushing everything. There's so many options that I don't even level up a lot of things because I don't want to mess up.
The easiest way to not mess up your memories is to use the Gray Raven's fan wiki and look up the character you're working on, once you get the memory set on them it's impossible to mess up leveling the character the rest of the way.

It's funny; I'm the opposite, I spent prob way too much time building my Rosetta (just need her Unique Weapon tho I went full Catherine set when I should've got Leewenhuek in some slots lookin at some builds) and only progressing story when I needed to unlock the resource missions. A lot of people say story until Chap 9 is boring, but I think it's just slow though I guess it helps I read fast and get through the scenes in 1 min. Half the other time was spent doing Recitativo for Selena and the Prophetic stuff (tried doing winter defense, shit was hard). Just need 2 more pulls for Nanami Starfarer, can get about 2 or 3 of her mem set from spamming Cosmic Glow (free 6* every 8 runs, why not spam it peeps)
Only problem is the weapons that I don't know where to get tickets (doing Co-op for that 5* wep chance)

Despite me getting my rear handed to me in this game, I feel it's pretty good experience so far. I can feel the whole "Punishing" part when I don't time my dodges and end up getting slapped around like a test dummy. I just recently reached lvl 60 so I'm not sure how long it would take to get lvl80, anyways the game for me is enjoyable, the wait for the PC client for me felt pretty worth it.
If you have an in-game mentor you can do guide missions and receive big level boosts by completing six of them every week.

i think people don't quit, they're just hiatus waiting for future updates, global don't pretty much have the hype cause we already knows whats been coming, and sometimes players just play the cn server or different server that not too outdated like the global, i think they should make global updates much faster to catch up to cn it's better if the cn only had 1 patch ahead to global and not a ridiculous 1 year of content.
i actually dont mind grinding i love grinding and upgrading favorite characters and everything, it's just the limit of playing missions or anything that requires the serum feature of punishing gray raven, i would love playing it more and more and more if i didnt have to keep worrying about the serum stuff
because once the serum runs out and you dont have any items that give you serum, you're pretty much not gonna be able to do a lot but play the next day, of course there is also the other events that you can participate in that you can still play your favorite characters as but the grinding for upgrades is halted or otherwise very slowed because of the serum feature which is always so annoying when you're in the zone and the game denies it because you dont have enough to keep playing for resources that get you better results
i have no problem with rushing and non-rushing, if i die a couple times it just means i've gotta second-think who i want as one of my mains in my team composition and invest more time in leveling things up
i just hope they just remove the serum stuff, it really stops me from building

This vid is facts I started 4 days ago witch was September 24th and I already have 3 S rank physical characters that's my main team and i got all their 6 star memories in less than a week plus my level is 61 for this progress I'm just looking through a lot of CZcams content on things to avoid doing so I don't make them in the early game and it's been going well so far, basically i was rushing but i also took time to stop and think about my next move.
The game is a long marathon but you picked a great time to start.
since i started this game like 3 or 4 days ago and still unlocking stuffs, played and experience the warzone and still at 5-11 of my journey as lvl 49 commandant, still figuring out on where to get decent weapons wihout using the BC :'D....still using the 4star i picked up somewhere with my Vera-Rozen, and have Liv-Eclipse (lvl32) and Nanami-Storm (lvl 35) (and yes stillusing them since tutorials lols, only Vera Rozen is my rolled character since i got the 2500 Besic Construct tickets from awards, i got nothing yet noted to invest much, only Vera lols.
for now, i did what i could, tryied the events, i tested the coop, (very ashamed since i cant still do it) and tried solo ( i think the event right now is The Ark Beyond)... yeah will see, i do play Aether Gazer, Nikke, Eversoul, Genshin and HSR, lel.... i know too much too handle, not to mention PGR i heard is grindy and im getting tortured of being slapped while trying not to spend much stamina on dodges :'D....

Whenever I play coop, my character lags 2-3s even though I have green connection so I avoid it.. I also skip events that need 3 or more teams because I barely have 2 built teams atm.. Also hate the tower def event..
My only motivation playing is the upcoming Bianca and Alpha >_
I too skipped Winter Sequence because it was too annoying.
Once you build a dps you can solo easy co-op for the weapon shards.

ngl ive rushed the story and event and currently im on chapter 18 but ive never ran into a point where my characters cant beat said stage. and im a casual player. most of my characters are 80 6* memories and 2 6*weapon. ive been using alpha, A.r vera sss now , and a.r chrome whos now s from the start of the game btw f2p
I took breaks from the game mainly because I do not like the story. It feels all over the place and it looks like the writers have no idea what they wanted to do when making the original premise. Everything else about the game is top-notch, but it’s a big turn off for me when I can easily tell that a game’s sense of identity in terms of the kind of story it wants to be is obviously muddied. The only reason why I’m coming back is because of Black Rock Shooter.

i got baited by random mention of this game on gacha stream and so happened alpha just released global and she is badass so i got motivated, and there is pc client, im enjoying so far the game, got alpha ss1 with weapon 6* liv lux ss5 and arclight ss, with full sets in just 3 weeks or so, while not skipping anything no matter how borring or deppressing story was)) the game gives alot of activities and events while honkai starrail i also play is only pretty without content for weeks bettween banners
the story is great. the game mechanic difficulty is over the top. getting one-shotted is beyond stupid in the challenge modes
rexlent has also shown him beating the hardest content in the game as f2p as well as he has an NA server account thats entirely f2p he only whaled on cn
He's also an excellent player so people underestimate how hard it is to do no-hit runs.

I don't know if that's the problem for at least half the players, I beat "everything" at half the power in two weeks without any guides (every chapter available to me until 12 or something when it says it's not currently available). With the current event it's easy to get 6 star memories too, and the game has the missions that direct you to leveling things. I'm in the process of quitting because the enemies are pretty boring after this long, even if the characters feel good to play. I'm not sure what's supposed to change after lv80, but I can play a little longer to go see for myself.
You will have the ability to fully raise your character and access endgame, you've been able to try some of it during the event but Norman Revival Plan is where the difficulty spike is, along with Babel Tower that was in this event if you didn't try it, it's the hardest game mode that is where the diehards go for difficult content. Also, try the Chaos and Hell stages of Phantom Pain Cage if you want your difficulty spike.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 Norman revival plan is one of the reasons I want to quit, the enemy positioning and AI is so trash it becomes impossibly annoying to match the timer. I did everything with the trial characters up to the last boss, but when I was trying to disable the nonsense that is the regenerating shield I couldn't clear the last fight from their spawn points and the stalling attacks with the characters I had left. Maybe I'll try to kill the boss directly through the shields, but I'll probably run into the same problem with it's frequency.
Babel tower is better if it's the one I played, but also with annoying garbage on top like the rng lightning. The player has so much agency I haven't seen anything difficult yet, but they spoil the great combat with bad AI, a timer and those random effects. I'm still level 73, I'll at least see what I feel about level 80 before leaving now so I guess the video served it's purpose. Though honestly, I'm not holding my breath for it.

@@guardiansoulblade2673 I understand that, I used my better characters which are still lower power level in comparison in the earlier stages, with a trial dps to clear faster. But assuming they didn't build the trial characters poorly, it should be the same thing right? Especially with the kind of problem I'm having with it being just the enemy AI doing nothing when I need to go into the matrix to do damage, enemies chilling with 6 health bars at each edge of the map instead of in a position you can group and damage, attacks that stall time because they dash the whole screen or jump into the air... it's all a mess when they added a tight timer to it.
I just play when I feel like it, training with bosses in celica class etc. Don't want to play it for hours because it is not a game designed to be played that long per day.
As for norman, sure the trial characters won't do much to progress especially starting from 3rd stage where they start getting more tanky. You will eventually need your own build up characters to blast through it with enemies that sometimes move too much or just straight up running away from your character.
3rd or 4th stages should be where any players able to clear it. EX norman at 5th stage, the enemies start to ramp up where they can deal ALOT of damage even your with your maxed out characters. 6th stage? even super whale can't clear it if they cannot position themselves/enemies correctly, F2p Tryhard might be able to but with alot of retries, trick enemies AI to do something specific etc.

Building the characters is easy if you just focus on your main DPS and then push through story.

You really should go back and read it, it has a bumpy start but it's really good.
The thing that helped me stay is EX 00
Also what I've noticed:
People come in thinking you can get at least 3 S Ranks after 1-2 weeks and then realize that they get between like 5-6 pulls only per week after playing every day and then claim the rates are bad and the game isn't as f2p friendly as everybody says.
And the tutorial skipping. They don't see the importance of QTEs, core passive, switching between characters, correct equipment, etc. All they see for the first week is orbs that are generated randomly and that they are there to get pinged immediately for "fast damage". They don't see any of that and then think the combat system is blant, way too easy and repetitive.
Some of us helped a new player streaming the game and we got them to play No. 21’s tutorial after he pulled her and when he did it clicked for him and he was having so much fun playing the game.

This game is just very hard after finish main story. This how many mechanics and possibilities is there make players confused and after recognize how critical mistakes they do in one moments (Resonance, upgrading and much more) they quit. Simple challange force players to understand how fight works is hard. 3 characters in one team with skills description like a books. This game punishing players step by step 😂
I think one of the biggest reasons people quit is that Kuro games mismarkets this game. They so the crazy fights and when you get in the game that dream is far far away. Which for alot of people when they see that mountain of grind its a wrap usually. Second reason is no english voice over. A big way to retain a bigger player base is the story...if its alot of reading all the time people are less likely to stay. Another big downer is some of the events feel like chores instead of fun. A few honorable mentions, Coop is at a fixed time and the ping system.
All in all Kuro games has a good gacha that is better than most. But there are alot of gachas doing this same thing near. I wager you will see alot more people warm up to WW over this game.
KuroGame doesn’t market the game all you ever see is fan content made by creators that are very talented but people don’t realize the characters they use are unreleased on global, don’t realize the creator is a whale with a maxed out character and that it takes immense skill and practice to do a no-hit run.

I honestly think my biggest issue with PGR is the mode at which they tell their story. I usually get hyped for gacha games because of storytelling but unfortunately i am leaning more towards aether gazer because they do that aspect well. I really don't want to be reading a novel while playing a game.
In my opinion people don't get the real reason we play the game. The story is great and all but it's the game play it self that is the key factor. Story is easy the whole way through and that goes for the bosses, the real hype bosses are outside the story and you need to get good for those. I play story for the story, I read it and enjoy it cuz the story level are way too easy by design. Also u can't whale this game, u can drop $10k and still lose so I agree that rexlent is a skilled player and it's not cuz of money. The game is hard in gameplay as well as building ur stuff, we should all focus on the that. It's DMC, it's MGR, it's soulsborne, you'll have more fun if u put in work.

I quited PGR for more than a year (I recently came back thanks to the pc launcher) for two mayor reason, in the country where I live you can't download the game from the app store, so I had to reinstall the APK in my android simulator each time a mayor update came, which were annoying when I was just trying to use my limited time to play the game, that plus the freaking grind really make me quit the game.
I totally get your point of rushing the story under geared, I was not even rushing but I push the story until it wasn't a skill issue anymore (chapter 9), but because the basic mobs were killing me just by looking at my general direction, so I crashed against a wall where I couldn't play the story anymore (which is what I am more interested in) because I needed to grind gear, but grind memories and weapons is so confusing and annoying specially when you don't have good enough grasp of all the mechanics of the game, that I just said "f%ck this sh#t I am out", I think that PGR should mimic Honkai Impact 3rd in how the player can advance through the story, in Honkai basically the game lends you fully geared trial characters to complete all the story campaing without you needing to use your own characters if you don't want to, this simple thing make me invest so much time an attention to honkai that I can't even believe it, because to know the characters, their stories, their place in the world, really motivated me to gear up my valkyries and try other aspects of the game (in honkai).
I have played many gacha games, I am a regular at Mihoyo games (Honkai Impact 3rd and recently HSTR), I have played FGO (I quit FGO for similar reasons than PGR), Azur Lane, Girls Front Line among others, I am veteran MMORPG player (WoW, TERA, Silkroad, Guild Wars, Warframe) so grinding isn't something rare for me, but I don't know why but PGR is so unwelcoming for new players that isn't even funny, I mean to be more unwelcoming to new players than Honkai impact 3rd, Warframe or World of Warcraft is an impressive feat to be honest.
However I have been playing a lot these day thanks to the pc launcher, I have geared up my basic starting team and even get a couple of interesting S rank characters, so luckily I was able to break that entry wall of the gear grinding, at least for now, but I think that how confusing and convoluted can be the different currencies in the game, the grinding and how the story mode stops you in your tracks, if you don't have gear are mayor contributors to hinder PGR's grow as game and community.
Later chapters doesn't have gear caps anymore and they just lend you stronk characters

These gacha games are all the same. 2 - 3 months to get overpowered? Nah. Not gonna happen. Need at least 1 year to be powerful enough, a good team, good weapons. People are usually mistaken when they watch trailers.
All gacha games i also only played for one year and quit. Because i feel i enjoyed the game enough.
At least this game's S rank characters are good throughout 2 years until they are replaced by new characters. In some games, they can be replaced fast in 6 months - 1 year because they release new characters so fast for people to pull.
You do just fine without meta, the only reason people pull meta is for difficult content and high scores, you can play the game however you want. If you think that people just leave old characters behind for the new shiny ones, you're wrong, Rexlent still plays Crimson Abyss in his videos, he still uses older characters during streams, people only see the new shiny videos from him and Blanc because they only watch those videos with the newer characters.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 It is fine without meta for most gacha games. But without meta you cannot go for higher or newer contents for higher rewards and cannot do works fast. So pull for good characters is really encouraged.
Old characters really will be benched when you pull new stronger characters because they're stronger and easier to use. Why not use them? Of course there're still few people use old characters because they like them or for challenges or some contents need to use many characters. It's the same for gacha type games. Go for meta is the way to live unless you got great talent and skill.
At least, a character in PGR which is good throughout 2 years until they release a new one to replace them is a good thing.
The problem with not being able to rush the story is people like me who spend most of our time working aren't able to fully enjoy it on our limited play time. Shame I'm about to drop this game just because of that.

I like complex systems when it comes to building a character, I don't like it when I am spammed by system stuff, do these missions for optimal rewards do x y z to enhance character.

although I like the game and the best part of the game for me is the combat. the game has its problems and many frosting things.
let me point out some
Ridiculous clothes that you have to walk around trying to find the differences. I'm talking about when you evolve the characters. but in general the clothes are nothing special and never make me think about putting money in the game.
seeing many of the same characters but of different elements is not pleasant either but these are minor points.
my biggest problems with the game.
story is interesting but the way it is told and the gameplay is horrible. i was stuck in the chapter 13 Luna story not because I'm weak or have problems defeating enemies but because the mechanics were just awful. I just couldn't get motivated in going through those stupid menus doing those bs researches.
now i'm on chapter 14 and the story is repeating itself it's tedious and painful to go through the chapters.
another thing that annoys me a lot with this game too is the bunch of game modes that force you to play with specific characters that I don't have and the game gives me trial versions of them. NO STOP I'm playing a gacha I want to play with the characters I have. I don't want to waste my time learning combinations with a character that I don't have or that I don't like.
anyway I still think it's a good game and very F2P friendly I encourage everyone to try out the game
Visual novel storytelling is normal for most mobile games because it's cheaper, Fate/Grand Order doesn't count because Type-Moon has always done visual novel storytelling, unless your name is Mihoyo and you're rolling in money where you can afford to voice every scene, not that it matters much, everyone's mashing the forward button anyway.
You don't have to do everything in this game if you don't want to, you're just suffering fomo because you want the black cards but there are people that just do dailies and that's it. It's not a waste of time to learn characters because it makes you better at the game, and yes, the story will make you use characters you don't necessarily like.
If you just want to use characters you like you can ignore Norman Revival Plan and Babel Tower because you'll be forced to use different characters there anyway, just do dailies but don't whine about your black cards because you don't like playing certain characters and don't want to do certain modes because you can't use the characters "you like".

@@Fiufia You can play this game however you like but you will miss out on some black cards if you skip some stuff. This is not a game where you roll all the time, it's different from most gacha that want you to roll all the time, the only time you really have to roll is when a new patch drops. If you want weapons and fancy skins you buy the passes, but as F2P you'll get most characters if you just wait a bit. Most people are used to constantly rolling for characters and you don't have to do that in this game. And you don't have to do the harder endgame content if you don't want to, they have lots of casual stuff during events that you can play instead. It IS very F2P friendly when you can get all characters outside of collabs for free if you just wait.
And for the record, I only play the easy version of Norman Revival Plan, I wasn't able to do the harder event activities in this patch like Winter Sequence, but I still got a lot of activities done, you don't have to do the hard versions of content if you don't want to since there are both "hardcore" and "casual" activities during events so you just focus on what you want to do.
Norman Rival Plan comes around regularly so you could just wait til you get the characters you want to do it, it's always around.

The personal construct stories are much more interesting.
Why people quit? The game is grindy and you do the same thing again and again. Each event is just a combat or tiny variation of it. Not to mention that Kuro does not know how to make their core gameplay fun without resorting to just making them a chore. Their roguelite modes are a chore. The first one people begrudgingly do it for the free skin. The second for the character but that is even more of a chore than the first one. The prophetic surveillance or its variance before has too many levels.
The story is slow and boring at the beginning. You'd say it isn't but sorry, you're the only one. Even PGR lovers admit first 8 chapters are boring as heck. Even then beyond that the visual novel style makes is a boring read as well. The game doesn't utilize any gimmick to break the drawl of VN style reading.
The world and character is boring as well. Sci-fi apocalyptic? How many is this again? Made worse with Aether Gazer that provided a more interesting world and character. Why would people play this when they can play AG? Not to mention that Kuro is in a self-cycle because of you guys. You guys want PGR to be hard and wants to play it all the time, so Kuro made everything lengthy that only you guys would say it's not a chore. But to others it is. So Kuro doesn't bother market itself because they knew the normies won't stick for long and so they continue the cycle of making everything for you hardcores. So it's not surprising that PGR have low market penetration and that normies don't like it.
Well, game is good. Dark souls is ass burning too. If you don't like it ok. But don't say it's trash or it's for crazy people.
Once you get characters built you have to grind a lot less.

Man really voiced his opinion and I really respect. But I will not agree one thing, Aether Gazer's story is bad as it gets.
I'll claim my reasons because I read and endured the story. Who wants a sci-fi like with super paranormal activity story like that, adding a inside conflict of the families/companies in which the world doesn't concern of? The word of things is not really descriptive and make me "What? Where and How does that work?"
I apologize that I sound unreasonable, but as a story sci fi reader that takes the story in the depth of seriousness. That is my view of point.

It's not pay to win if you're not chasing the high score board. You can pull every copy of a character if you save up 15,000 per patch, where you will lose out is signature weapons, but if you want characters you can get them all if you don't roll all the time and wait for a new character to drop every patch. The game is having multiple S-rank selectors that you get for free by just doing missions in the event. You're spreading misinformation. Aether Gazer is NOT F2P friendly with 150 pulls just to get both characters you want. PGR isn't perfect but you can get all the characters, outside of collab banners for free.
As someone who almost got the S-Ranks in PGR (only Entropy is missing) without even using any Rainbow Cards, only monthly pass and as a bonus their coatings. I guarantee it is F2P, IF you knew what you were doing and how to save up.
Comparing it to Aether Gazer since I'm playing both, the gacha there is BRUTAL. If you only because got a S-Rank at early, trust me. That will not going to end well later. I pulled almost 450 pulls now, but I still didn't get any S-Ranks aside from what I got Shinri and Asura.
Unlike my pulls in PGR, I got Nanamech at 2 pulls, her signature weapon at 4 pulls, and her signature cub at 5 pulls. Saving a 22k+ of Black Cards. If you want evidence, I have it screenshot, but don't know how to send/upload it.
