You did a fine job restoring tis old bayonet. You cleaned it up very nicely and gave it new scales, and that is exactly what it needed. I'm glad to see you didn't try to give it a mirror finish...make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, so to speak. It's beautiful just as you made it.
Lovely job yet again the fact you don’t take them back to much then polish them like new is so much better. So many restorers try to make them new again then they lose all there history. But you have the perfect balance. It so great to see your items finished 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
You have great restoration skills. Even in Japan, 30-year-old bayonets sometimes come up at antique shops, but many of them are in pitiful condition with rust and rotten wood. I think I would be happy if I could repair my rusty bayonet to this extent. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Its a cool restoration except that you did not give attention to its original detail like the handle grip screws. And also you should not have used glue on the handle. When we are restoring the ultimate goal is always to supply with the closest material available and that the way we reconstruct it must always follow how it was done more or less in the factory. Overall its a good job. It is pulling a climber as he hangs in a cliff. We do not care if that climber goes up and made to safety with some bruises. It is important that we gave him his life back when he hanged in there like this poor relic.
I love how you restore things with power tools because it is somehow more satisfying than other restoration videos. So, please keep up the good work. 👍 EDIT: Maybe you should buy a handheld belt sander like the one I have.
What is the point or difference in manually brushing it by hand at first, then using a motorized brush? Will it be quicker if he just use the motorized brush to begin with? Sanding the edge away is a wrong move.
Чем продиктовано решение посадить деревянные накладки рукояти на эпоксидку и штифты? Даже на штыках позднего образца для фиксации применялись винты. Обидно, проделана неплохая работа и тут такой ляп...

It is called an Arisaka T30. 1897 up to about 1940.Then a new style came out from 1941 until 1943 or 44. Then the last one 1944 to 45 known as a last ditch had a squared handle with out the bird's head end and had no blood groove (fuller). All versions fit all Arisaka rifles. T30, T38 and finally the T99. The hook on the this first version was used to lock onto the enemies bayonet during close combat. The Japanese army was very well trained with the use of these bayonets.

На Арисаки продаются копии оригинальных винтов и гаек и даже кнопок .А заклепки больше на гвозди похожи .

If you coat your pliers jaws with silicon you’ll get the same grip but you won’t get the jaw marks on the piece you’re unscrewing.

Да уж с накладками обгадился, начал за здравие закончил за упокой, дилетантский подход был виден уже по тому как он кнопку "вандалил"!!!

I don't agree with the restoration, using metal brushes, files, sanding and new wooden parts. I agree only with the conservation method.
Cooper brushes are okay, but steel brushes are not.
