Decades of neglect and poor urban planning saw all these iconic structures be forgotten. Sayang talaga kulang tayo sa effort and appreciation para sa mga ito, kung sana sinabing buhayin ang Manila kasama ang mga yan then future filipino can look back and be proud of how we were as a nation back then. Thank you for bringing these structures back even if most of it are no longer pleasing to the eyes.

But those were the days, of course mostly modern na ngayon. In the 70's, Times theatre offered treats to movie goers like P3 per per patron for three movies in a row. If you go in at 10 am, you will come out of the cinema around 3pm light headed.

My favorite old cinema: The Times Theatre, in 456 Quezon Blvd (formerly Colgante Blvd) , Quiapo, Manila City, 1001 Metro Manila was built in 1939, and it was designed by architect Luis Z. Araneta. The theatre interior, though unmaintained, still has the Art Moderne bas relief. The stairs leading to the balcony is a cantilevered slab, and veneered with black marble. There were some renovations, but it still exudes the image of the period when it was built by the way, The Times Theatre is mainly patronised by gay men.

buhay pa yung building ng Boulevard theater dyan. katapat lang ng Life theater. nademolish na yung ibang sinehan dyan sa quezon blvd gaya ng Lider, Crown, Center sa may side ng isetann. buhay din ang building ng World cinema (New Love theater later) katapat ng central market. pati yung building ng Main theater (villarica pawnshop now) buhay pa din sa may side ng Times theater.

I thought you cannot take videos of the Lacson underpass? But I’m impressed, so clean and orderly. Last time I was there was 1990. Full of vendors and halos Wala ka madaanan. You really have to struggle to get out.
You mentioned Life theater but not Dalisay theater which is at quezon blvd and Raon. If I remember correctly those are the only theaters that show Tagalog movies. Then from there movies go to Illusion and Majestic theaters, second run theaters showing double programs. They are just few meters away from each other.

Quezon boulevard is a merge of Calle Conception, Calle Santa Rosa and Andalucia (change name into Regidor and M. Ocampo). Quezon boulevard is an offshore lowland area adjacent to Estero de Alix (body flows from FEU university quadrangle to Reten St, Sampaloc), Estero de Bilibid (from Old Raon/Bilibid Viejo to Central Market), and Estero Debunao (from San Miguel to Raon). kaya ho malalim yung part na daanan doon sa tagusan morayta españa.
Sa part ng sakayan/babaan overpass sa quiapo malapit sa globe thatre it's really a swamp area.
Andalucia is a different street before it connect to calle sta rosa/conception then emerge as Quezon blvd now. Lerma is a private own property donated by familia Lerma that pave way the street kaya ang End ng Calle Esapana(españa) is doon lang din. Calle Lepanto/Alix is one of the major street. it connect sampaloc to san sebastian. Then Hidalgo Street (san sebastian st) is a main road din from San Sebastian to Quiapo. Recto Blvd actually yung National Road dati connecting Sampaloc, San Sebastian, San Miguel ,Quiapo, Binondo,Tondo. this once called as Calle Iris then change to Azcaraga.
punta de colgante is a wood hanging bridge. then was turn into steel bridge. that's why if nag-pe-page ang mga fx driver dito tawag nila diyan is Tulay na Bakal. The bridge connect quiapo to intra and Barrio dela conception (from arroceros going east to ayala bridge, going south to Estero de balete yung bridge after PNU).tapos yung road sa Lagusnilad is another swamp area again kaya mababa din. Ang galing noh haha.
