The man behind the Art Deco boom of the 1920's Philippines. Thanks for sharing this story. When I had my OJT at DPWH in Port Area, Manila, I was assigned as a Draftsman at the Bureau of Design under Engr. Tiongco. Luckily, I saw some of the yellowed drawings made by Juan Arellano when he was still working there in the 1920's. Most are manually drawn using pencils, but others were inked using Henry Tank pens and ruling pens. His penmanship and line work is very crisp and sharp. However yellowed by time, the parchment is still tough and the lines are still visible.
