From a question to a quest: When an inquisitive journalist met an inspiring saint, he undertook a journey that would change his life forever. On a Quest, follows the life of Swami Chinmayananda (born as P Balakrishnan Menon) as a naughty child, rebellious youth, patriotic freedom-fighter, inquisitive journalist, yearning seeker to a spiritual Master.
It features the birth of the Chinmaya Movement and subsequently, the Chinmaya Mission established by a group of seekers under the inspiration and the guidance of Swami Chinmayananda.
With stunning visuals and inspiring sound track, On a Quest will introduce you to the dynamic saint, compassionate teacher and visionary leader that was Swami Chinmayananda

🌸About Swami Chinmaynanda🌸
Hailed as the second Swami Vivekananda, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda (1916-1993) is an orator, writer and leader par excellence, a patriot and spiritual giant, one of the finest representatives of Indian spiritual heritage who spearheaded a global Hindu spiritual and cultural renaissance that popularised the religion's esoteric scriptural texts, teaching them in English all across India and abroad.
He worked tirelessly with tremendous energy for more than four decades to spread the message of Vedanta, leaving behind a great legacy for man. He has authored 95 publications, including commentaries on the major Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. He was a visiting professor of Indian philosophy at several American and Asian universities and he conducted university lecture tours in many countries.
The sprawling worldwide, spiritual, educational, and charitable organization of Chinmaya Mission that encompasses more than 300 centres in India and internationally, carries on the bright torch lit by this great saint.

Yes, my father was a staunch Krishna devotee and worshipped my parents only as I was an atheist then. But studied all eastern and western books looking for god. SO swami’s teachings are for knowledge. Start Rama bhajan and then Ramayana parayanam at28, start having visions at51, but kept arguing mentally and intellectually so long that my mentor insisted me to surrender everything in total faith to god…and start vanaprastham….
YES, I recorded all his lectures at 17 and started writing all my spiritual journey that fills in 4journals now.

We were so blessed to have Chinmaya Mission-Sandeepany West open in nearby Piercy, California. Swamiji gave many programs on the Gita, Upanishads, etc. He was my first real guru. This film is a sweet tribute to his work, but does not begin to capture his dynamism as a teacher. I found myself weeping at the end because he has left such a legacy for all of us. I am grateful to the entire mission.

Brilliant. This film takes us on the spiritual path along with Swamiji Chinmayanada. As he seeks and finds, we learn and grow. This contains the essential teachings for awakening.
Watching this took me back to my childhood years when my siblings and I used to attend the weekly Geetha classes run by the Chinmaya mission along with our parents and grand mother at a school near our home as there was no mission building then in the place where we used to live. The mission has its own building there now. The biopic is a great attempt. Thank you all.

This is an amazing documentary on Chinmayananda Saraswati gurudeva. 🙏🏻❤️ However, it could have been much more intense if they could have given more details on his sadhana days especially the Shiva Mantra Sadhana he does. Unless the there is an order from Shambala there won't be these kind of enlightened mystics walking the planet earth. Glories to Rishi parampara. Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambho! ❤️ 😊🙏🏻

@@redpillmatrix3046 There are many ways of doing the Shiva Mantra Sadhana. There is a 5 letter mantra that should have been got from a master who has invoked the energy in the mantra of lord Shiva. The one Chinmayananda Saraswati has done is a manasika japa of the mantra while travelling to badrinath or kedarnath. (You can get more details about this on his book). Also there is one type of sadhana that a person has to chant the mantra 5 lac times within 9 days during navaraatri. That roughly takes about 16-18 hours of effort daily 😊 one should have a spine to do these kind of sadhana and have been supremely blessed by lord himself. If he wills it's not that difficult though 😀 anyway... All the best to your inner journey... 🙏🏻😊 🧘🏻♂️May lord gives you the strength and endurance to retain the spark of spiritual curiousity till you realise the truth ❤️

Hari OM, Just finished watching “On The Quest”. Did not realise Guruji was once a freedom fighter. In this film I saw lots of photos of Subhash Bose (founder of the Indian National army). I really admire Bose. Once the British Prime Minister Clement Atlee was asked, “why did you grant independence to India”. His answer was it was “NOT due to Gandhi, but the fear British had about the returning Bose’s INA soldiers.” There is really good movie on Bose on CZcams “The Forgotten Hero” -
Very inspiration documentary. Indian culture is based on true knowledge and values. The aim of this culture was to find out and experience yourself before u leave.

Casting soundtrack and visuals are so perfect 🙌I've seen Swamiji in person just once as a 6 year old at a program in 1990 at Chinmaya mission school where I studied. He had a powerful impact on everyone present . Even after all these years I still remember his tall frame and elegant walk using a walking stick and his graceful demeanor.
