I knew Sw Chinmayanda in 1960s and early 70s in Northern California. I spent some time with him in Lokoya Napa. He was a very interesting man and dynamic, humorous and sarcastic speaker!

Many got the similar experience and they attained the same state Ramana Maharishi was in. Annamalai swami, robert adams, yogi ram Surat kumar, papaji, papa ramdas, Lakshmi the cow, Maharish's mother and om sadhu are the few prominent souls. Many who got realised coming in contact with him are not recorded. He is considered as human form of the holy hill, Arunachala. Still people who can still their mind for few seconds in tiruvannamalai will get to experience the grace of the hill.
yeah but Sadhu Om never made a claim to the Self Realization like Annamalai Swami and others did which I find weird as the only reason why he would never make a claim is because he is not Enlightened.

Sri Ramana didn't look to his life, his imperfections and strugles, as a Saint has no eyes for that. On the contrary, Sri Ramana just saw the true self, the perfection, on him as in everything around as only one supreme being. The power of that gaze is a miracle and eventually the illusory one disappears under that gaze.

I heard in this video Swami Chinmayananda describing how his meeting was with Maharishi - "I was sure that he saw all my shallowness, confusions, imperfections and fear". It's funny how we attribute what the Maharishi sees in us to everything other than our atman. Maharishi never saw imperfections or anything like that since they don't exist!! HE always sees the same atman in all of us which is no different than Maharishi himself!! Such is the power of Maya!!
