The fact that fixing bugs is now considered a redemption arc shows the direction where the industry is heading and it only got worse with companies trying to do the same.
I have lil bros at age 18 and 20, they played a lot of cod and Skyrim. They haven’t played game that released finished and working properly in their entire life. It was heart wrenching one Christmas. I bought them Cod for Christmas and we sat there watching it download slowly and after that game crashed and throw them out from lobby etc. I asked are they sad, they answered a little but it’s normal for the game not work. Imagine 10 and 12 yr olds already accepted this concept of modern gaming industry and just roll with it because they don’t know better. That’s how generation changes and society follows behind. So sad that our beloved hobby is now tarnished. I don’t buy Bethesda or cdpr products, I will not succumb for their business model

I disagree. They should never had released the way they did. They ruined their reputation. Many people, including myself, hate them. They are getting sued by a class action lawsuit, sued by their investors, and the Polish government is investigating.

I get that, it’s completely fair to still be angry about it. However, although it will still never be what it was promised to be, if you look at it for what it is instead of what it was supposed to be. Today, I’d argue it’s a pretty good game. They’ve fixed most of the bugs and added much needed features such as a full police system, revamped combat and apartments. So I’d say it’s fair to enjoy the game now.

Take Fable for example. There were so much promises which never made it to the release but game still came out amazing and the series became legendary in some way. Stop holding a grudge over something which is not worth it. Go check out how the development was going and why the game came out like this and who’s responsible for it.
Yep. I booted up the game after the 2.0 patch, found a lot of features originally promised still aren't in the game, and even noted one instance of having fewer choices than I had before (there's a freezer in the first level where you could originally hide a body nonlethally, but while it makes sense for that to not be considered 'nonlethal' since the freezer locks, the choice has since been removed).
Many copium smokers need to remember this.

2:25 lol the first time I saw the flat texture cars in the distance I had to double take in game and under my breath I just went "oohhhhhhh...noooooooo, what?!"
I mean I get it, saves on a bit of memory but for real CDPR? Honestly at this point I'd have been fine with a playable demo and another year or so wait for the full game. But I think it kind of became clear that, as Witcher sales likely dwindled down after the Switch port, they were milking Witcher revenue to fuel Cyberpunk development and had to get this out the door quick to recoup or keep their distance from a break even point.

Honestly, Xenoblade Chronicles (1 and X as those are the ones I've experienced) slaps CP2077 hard from the open world and rpg standpoint IMO.

Only games I've ever preordered in my life were Super Mario 3D All Stars and Super Mario 3D World:Deluxe just because I knew that they would be nearly impossible to find. Nintendo as a business sucks. They make their stuff seem ultra rare and that causes people to buy the stuff and then those people turn it into a scalper's market. Nintendo were like "let's release stuff in low amounts to stores to make it seem that the stuff is better than it really is. It worked for Apple".
The police system is shocking. I mean, everything is, but that the police won't even get into car chases is astounding. Running from the cops isn't just a staple of open world crime games, it's a staple of literally any game with cops. Let's not even mention how vital it is to the genre of fiction they're in, where the cops are corrupt and scummy but since you're aligned against the interests they represent, they're against you. It blew me away to see that.

As someone who owns a pretty powerful enough pc, I'd like to ask them, how come red dead 2,which looks better, runs just fine on base consoles?
How come a game which began development 7 years ago, at a time when the current gen(ps4 and xbox one) were not even out , sucks so hard on the current gen?
It was all hype. I bet they hired keanu, and THEN started development on the game.
Those same idiots also say things like
"oh but it's an rpg, you don't need to focus on npc ai, just focus on story".
I'm like, if it's simply an rpg, why was it marketed as "the most lived-in feeling open world" by CDPR.
GTA 1,LITERALLY THAT 32 BIT 2D TOP DOWN GAME, released 20+ years ago, has better ai than this garbage. Amazing.

CDPR have completely screwed over the ps4 and xbox one fan base by not putting the dlc on ps4 and xbox one.
The ps4 and xbox one users were the main ones that were buying cyberpunk in the first place.

I think some games will be fine to preorder. Such as Silksong and Deltarune. But any big triple A game is a big no no
