Not sure if Mountain Top Industries supply the full roller cover to Ford including the associated Wildtrak sports bar for assembly at the factory. Whoever does manufacture the sports bar, the workers at the Ford factory do not install them correctly. There are gaps under the side profile of the sports bar on almost all Wildtraks leaving the factory which allows water to get in to the rear tub. The reason for the gaps is due to Ford unwittingly using oversized steel threaded inserts which are hand drilled in to the top of the rear tub in order to bolt down the side profile. As the inserts are simply too long for the required application, they hit the bottom of the upper box section at the top of the tub before they have been driven all the way in. This, in turn, causes the metalwork at the top edge of the tub to distort upwards as well as distortion of the inserts themselves. The end result is that the side profile then doesn't seal correctly on top of the tub. Strip down any Wildtrak sports bar and the raised damaged metalwork will be clear to see on top of the rear tub around each of the 6 steel threaded inserts. No idea why Ford hasn't identified this manufaturing flaw a very long time ago and how these Wildtraks have managed to leave the factory in their thousands without this being picked up by Fords quality control.

Now go and buy some big plastic boxes with lids to keep all your cargo dry ,also check to see if drain hoses at roller housing has been drilled 1.5" higher than the drain outlet this keeps water in the tray that houses the roller ,drill some new holes in the tub liner lower than the outlets and no more water hanging around in the housing ,also get some M3 door seal and seal the left and right gap in the tailgate but leave the bottom or you will have your own swimming pool

Hey i saw they install the rubber washer/ceiling behind front profile. Can anyway please tell me its purpose i didnt install it and wondering if i should remove shutter and install it

Bought a brand new Wildtrak (Oct 2017) with this roller cover. Placed laptop and gym bag in back to secure while at a function. It rained. Everything got soaked!!! Not impressed! Well, at least it kept the bugs out. 😑

I own one on my WildTrak, it is rubbish!
Not waterproof, take space off the cargo bed.
Also currently one of the cables for the lockingpins is broken after 3 years rust.
Not very expensive (bikestore) but I must completely remove everything to fix it, bad design!

Everything i put in the back of my wildtrak has to be in a plastic bag otherwise it gets soaked when it rains !! also when fitting the drain tubes when a bed liner is fitted in the instructions it doesnt say anything about drilling holes in the actual bed only the bed liner so where does the water from the drain pipes go ?? does the actual bare bed have drain holes ?? any information would be very much appreciated

@@iStuarttttXD I now have a ford ranger raptor and the roller shutter is waterproof so whether they have upgraded them I don't know its a black roller were as the wild Trak I had was alloy and leaked like a sieve !!
