- In this video I show what to look out for when buying a 2nd hand Wildtrak roller lid. I will also point out what lids not to buy.
WHY LISTEN TO ME? I have fitted over 300+ of this style of lid for my Customers all over New Zealand. I know them inside out and even single nut & bolt and I make them 100% watertight when fitted.
Over the years I have seen first hand the evolution of the design of these lids from the very bad PX1 to the ok PX2 and into the great PX3 and then the perfect Electric Roller lid.
I have this style on my Ranger. Nice and watertight and secure.
Yes they can be made water tight if you fit them and seal them up as you go

Hi there I have a question I purchased a 2018 wildtrak went to use roller door lid for first time and there was a screw that holds the cover on lodged inside roller mechanism and it's scratched right along all slates. Took back to dealer they opened up and found it they can't work out how it got there and said maybe even from manufacturer it could have been lost and lodged there interesting original owner and salesman when opening didn't scratch it only when I got home and tried it it's somehow lodged there. No missing screws from cover either?
Hard to know sorry. Easy for a screw to had been left on top of your roller lid. Maybe even if they changed the number plate over or something. Hard to know if the screw is from the lid without seeing a photo of the screw.
Hi Joel.. hoping to pick your brain on the PX1 Wildtrak roller shutters. There are 2 black L shaped brackets on each side that bolt up under the roller shutter track and then bolt onto what looks like an identical bracket that is fixed to the tub somewhere. Can you advise what the brackets fixed to the tub are screwed into and how solid this might be ? I have accessories fitted to the roller shutter track that sometimes get on the heavy side and I am not sure how strong the roller shutter track is as Mountain Top say one thing and Ford say another....
They sound like the bracket that holds the front of the wikdtrak tub liner in place. If you are not using the wikdtrak liner then they will not be needed
Hey mate have you installed a sailplane on an xlt? Running into issues with what seem to be the alignment pins on the bottom. Do holes need to be drilled out for them?
Yes grind them off or drill them out with a 16mm hole saw
Hey Joel do you know if its possible to remove the sail plane and keep the shutter? Looking to use the extra space for a roof top tent. Cheers

Hey Joel. I have a 2020 Wildtrak & have a small amount of water coming through the slats. Can this be fixed?
No not with ease. Maybe been cut or damaged by the sun

You need to pull it off and then get a blanking plate to fit into its place or duct tape over the hole. If you pull the black plastic cover towards you with your finger nails in under the plastic it will pop this cover off. You will then see the 2x tork screw’s you need to undo

Les fixations et plastiques sont-ils compatibles ? J'ai peur comme tu le montre que ce ne soit pas possible.

Yes it will. You will just need to drill the holes into the tub liner for the drain tubes

Yes it will
What about a wildtrak shutter that’s been taken off a 2020 model, will it still fit on a 2013 model XLT ranger?

Yes it will. Just make sure you get the Wildtrak Tub liner too
