What makes a gray paint color modern? I find it's one that strikes a nice balance of warm and cool

This is my favorite color! My trim is SW Pearly White. I put it in several bedrooms because it's so tranquil,.

Guys, it's a Moonshine 9-1-1! We just painted our brightly lit bathroom with Chantilly Lace on walls and trim, and Moonshine on the wooden pieces: double-sink vanity, small makeup vanity, and floor-to-ceiling built-in dresser in the adjacent dressing area. The Moonshine was supposed to read mostly grey. But helllllp! The Chantilly everywhere is blinding, and it reflects into the room all the green foliage that's outside the window! On top of that, the Moonshine reads so green; it hardly looks like the grey we expected! We are now committed to repainting the walls to break the stark Chantilly "primer" look. Will Simply White do the trick, or should we consider another off-white to further take down the glare? Thank you guys so much...your videos have been a huge help to us.

Ouch. What did you end up doing? I would only use Chantilly Lace on trim, it’s so white. Just painted our bathroom with classic gray, it’s beautiful, but the old cream colored trim and doors have got to go. I’m going with Chantilly Lace.

Pretty color. Looking for “gray” color in Kitchen to work with Nantucket Gray in adjacent living room. Tired of Manchester Tan.

I like Moonshine. You described its characteristics very well. We just bought Benjamin Moore CUMULUS CLOUD to go with our Aegean Teal. I wanted a warm grey for the ceiling and adjoining hallway to bring in our tile taupe grey cabinets and warm grey wood= look LVT floor. We are painting the trim WHITE DOVE. Hope we did not make mistakes. Could you please analyze and/or compare CUMULUS CLOUD?

We are preparing for a remodel of our bedrooms, hallway and living room. I am overwhelmed with paint choices! I am watching your videos and really appreciate the information. Would you review Sherwin Williams Olympus White as a paint for multiple rooms?

So I just painted part of my entry way and kitchen with Moonshine. Some kitchen lights shows beautiful gray with little undertones, while darker entry portion pulls out baby powdery blue. Not really what I was looking for. You mentioned liking this color, but not really your go to for clients. What is your go to. I have a 2800 sq. ft house, looking for a nice neutral indoor base for. hallways, living space, recommendations?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love Moonshine. I am thinking of going a little lighter elsewhere and I am leaning to BM Titanium. I would love to see a review on Titanium.

Can you do an in depth review of taupes in the Benjamin Moore line. I love the grays but it just doesnt work in my home. I have I have northern sun in living room with western sun also if that makes sense. Basically I get a lot of warm sunshine on the main areas of my home. Any suggestions?

Any recommendations on what to use on painting the bricks of a fireplace that has seen better days? The rest of the room is going to be done soon and either Edgecomb Gray, revere pewter, or maybe moonshine. I’m looking to lighten up my fireplace with maybe gray toned paint.

@@thepaintpeople OH, thank you for answering. On either side of the fireplace are (red) oak built-ins in a medium oak finish. There is ivory carpeting. There is wainscoting halfway up the two walls of the family room, which opens to a kitchen with ivory cabinets, black countertop and medium oak floors.Right now walls are dark green. Going to paint the family room and kitchen, (still pondering colors mentioned above) and would love to get rid of those red bricks on the fireplace.

It's tough for me to judge without seeing it in person. It sounds like it may be a good idea to consult someone directly that can come take a look perhaps. We're trying to find a way where we can be of more assistance virtually, so stay tuned for that!
