I actually find it incredible that you can make a comment like this. You start off by saying you’re a spurs fan and then right after that you actually speak sense.
I’ve been a Tottenham supporter for 52 years, and no other football club has a fan base as deluded as Tottenham. This caller is actually most of the fan base, and I agree it’s embarrassing!
Tottenham have drawn to Brentford, beaten a very poor United team who could have scored 3 goals in the first half, and then they have beaten Bournemouth and Burnley who most probably will be in the relegation battle this season. On Tuesday last week they were knocked out of the league cup by Fulham, who 5 days later were battered by City 5-1, and this fan believes wholeheartedly that Tottenham will challenge for the premier league title. The next game is newly promoted Sheffield United, which Tottenham should win, can you imagine the bullshit then?
Levy has never backed a manager, and never cared about trophies or success, all he cares about is making profit, and it’s fans like this caller who are Levy’s dream fan, and is the majority of the fan base.

I’ve always said why don’t Spurs ever aim to win the premier league title itself. It’s about ambition. You got aim for the stars ⭐️ ✨ . I remember since far back all Spurs managers ever say is we hope to do well and possibly a cup run. It’s never we aim to be the top club side here and in Europe. With that attitude you’ll never win anything. Players will just play for a lucrative contract and nothing else.

Look, I love how Tottenham is constructed and think champions league places is doable for them as there isn’t much separating them and the other teams beyond Arsenal and Ciry.
But even with Harry Kane I wouldn’t say the league table. I need to see them against the top of league and even then there are system growing pains. Now a league or FA Cup? Yeah I can see that happening.

I am not a Tottenham fan, but the guy may be right. Especially with Ange P. Every team he has touched has had success. From Australian clubs to National Coach success by winning Asian Nations Cup with Australia National team, then success in Japan, and then Scotland. He knows what he is doing, he is tactical genius, and he knows how to get it out of his players. He demands respect but gives respect back. He is also tough.
Tottenham have a good team, and unfortunately like a lot of clubs in the EPL, many coaches talk the talk, but when it comes down to it, they are inept and are just enjoying the big pay cheque, knowing if they fail, they at least will get the contract paid out. The longer the contract the worse it is. Not all managers of course, but most of them.
Ange has dignity and enjoys his job and is a perfectionist. He may be the difference between making this team of good players, some world class, a 7th or 6th spot team, and make them a winning machine and snatch the League.
I think they should snatch Lukaku from Chelsea at little price as possible, and he may be the difference for them this year too. He can score goals, and especially in key moments. And Ange would straighten him up.

His point is relatively sound when you consider some likely outcomes (though he's not saying he'd put money on Spurs to win the League and nor would I): Arsenal and Man City, there's a strong argument to say both will come back to the pack a little bit with CL commitments for the Gunners and a weaker City squad, but by how much? United look like they have a lot of work to do and don't have a recognized goal scorer. Chelsea is anyone's guess, but they have more work to do to catch up than Spurs. Newcastle to me present probably the strongest argument to be even better than last season because they had the strongest defense and most settled 11, and have added depth in all areas of their squad, although Champions League could mitigate their upward curve in the league.
Think Newcastle won't throw all their eggs in one basket ie the UCL BUT they now have 2 players of Premier league quality for every position in the squad and some very bright young players in the squad from the youth team..
