Princess is my newest obsession. It’s interesting as it’s nothing groundbreaking, the performance isn’t that amazing yet I am so in love with it. 😂❤️

The nose used the very expensive iris pallida and a touch of bergamot. It has grown on me to where I find it to be so very addictive!

I feel the same about Feve-everyone was raving about it, and I thought I was going to love it, but I only get powder and sharp spice. I actually have Starlight arriving today, and I can’t wait! I already sampled it, so it’s not a blind buy. The opening reminds me of good and plenty candy for some reason and I find that so interesting.

Glad Im not alone regarding Rogue Malachite. Tuberose foward frags just dont work for me. I didnt mind it a sample and the bottle was gorgeous so I got it during a Christmas sale but wow...what a regret. The tuberose is so overbearing and honestly gives me a headache, really thinking of how to sell it. How did you declutter yours?

If you don’t like Feve delicieuse, but you’re attracted to this kind of notes, trust me try tonka imperial. It‘s way better and smoother! It’s a masterpiece.
Cuir Beluga, i can see ur point. I had the same issue with it, when i first got it but I can assure u after a few of months of having this bottle, the performance totally changed! This is the case with most of the Guerlains from l‘art et la matiere collection for me.

At one point when I sniff cuir beluga at the store it was nice but I wasnt in love...now angelique noir was a completely different expierence. I loved it and ordered right away. Rouge Malachite was hyped up a lot. Saw it on a lot of list including Ms. Rowling's, when I sampled it I was not a fan and again I also don't like white florals because they give me headaches. The only tuberose sent that I like is Nishane's Hundred Silent Ways. I heard about Glossier and now I want to sample that one and I already know that Starlight is amazing and its on my wish list. Thank you for the reviews. Gives me something to look forward to.
Ahhh so happy to have you here! We have similar taste! Hundred silent ways is one of the very few tuberose scents I like too! Angelique noire is just so beautiful. 🤍
Princess by Kilian is amazing I got this in the old packaging which is longer lasting. It was also a blind buy but love it so much and it lasts 5 hours on my skin. i get the calming green tea and ginger and a huge dose of marshmallow its become one of my favorites. Sadly angelique noire gave me zero vanilla only green and soap smelling i just sold mine it wasnt sweet at all 😫 I actually loved Cruis baluga smelled amazing on me but my friend thinks it
smells like baby wipes but do plan on buying it for next winter. i used to not like tuberose but now I do i recently purchased love Tuberose from Amouage which is a very easy tuberose it has a gorgeous heavy whipcream note you may like it.
Ahhhh I’ve heard the old packaging formulation is better but I still love mine. Going to wear it again tomorrow I think! Shame Angelique didn’t work for you, I can see the green vibe being overwhelming for many!

Atomic Rose, AN, and Starlight were all blind buys for me and all loves!!! I always think of you and Starlight. Warm,spicy, sweet and airy is definitely the vibe.
Just tested Rouge M- not a fan either and also not a fan of Feve D… I always say you are my nose twin.

Starlight, Atomic Rose, Angelique Noir are a big love for me. Rouge Malachite too.I get always complements.
With Cuir Beluga I have the same issue. It's a skinscent and not the price worth if it comes to performance.
I do often a blindbuy, because I have to test a fragrance on my skin for a couple days. To smell it only on my hands is not enough for me
I am going to test Rouge Malachite again soon and see if I have changed my mind, it has been 9 months now since I decluttered it.

Princess was a successful blind purchase for me. . It's so addictive and i how it smells ages after wearing it. I do have to over spray though.
It's a shame that Cuir Beluga didn't work out for you. I love that fragrance so much. I bought it back in the original bottle so hopefully the formula hasn't changed. I agree though, it's definitely quiet. Over spraying essential, which is not what you want when it's so expensive.
Tuberose is one of my least favourite notes, but i do own and enjoy Hundred Silent Ways from Nishane which is a whipped cream fruity Tuberose. Very light and enjoyable.

I am wearing Princess again today, I can’t stop reaching for it. I did like Cuir Beluga but I find I don’t tolerate powdered vanillas as well as clean powdery fragrances. I did really want to love it. 🥺

I found it on a reseller website. In the UK I always check Vinted, Depop and eBay. Just have to be careful who your buy from!
I think the powdery note you perceived in Feve was the tonka bean. Tonka can go so many ways depending on the strength and quality used and I've definitely smelled the sweet, suffocating baby powder version of it lol. In fact, the first time I smelled Armani Code Profumo I recoiled from the intense baby powder smell and wondered why any grown man would want to smell like that! 🤢😆
I normally love tonka bean, it is one of my favourite notes.
I so agree for Feve Deliceuse 😅! Got a 10 mls decant and thought it was quite ‘ old lady vanilla ‘ - like … can’t believe it was David Beckhams’s fave 🤔
I also felt the same way and couldnt understand what the hype was about. I prefer Tonka by commodity over Feve.

I always find it amazing when my husband and I smell different from the perfume I wore. For Kilian Princess, I mainly smell the green tea and ginger (for when I need to feel calm) but he smells the sweetness. I love it more than I expected too even though I blind bought it 😍 #successfulblindbuy

I'm still sitting on a sample of Frederic Malle's The Moon because the opening is just so gagging to me. I was attracted to the red fruits and saffron, but all I get is the oud and leather that is supposed to be at the base. The first few seconds I get throat-punched by something that reminds me of soiled hay at the zoo 😭I've read some people experience the same thing but promise it opens up...for now I'm too scared and impatient to walk around with it on
Get a Room by Confessions of a Rebel is hands down my worst blind buy. Best has been Sun Fruit by Ellis Brooklyn. ✨

My worst blind buy was Roses Musk by Montale. I love rose and musk it had so many good reviews and the way people described it, I thought it would be right up my alley--- however when I got it the musk was harsh and synthetic akin to how the musk is done in Erba Pura, therefore I severely disliked it, the only pro is it is a beast ! Kinda reminds me of a deconstructed version of Delina and then the musk is a little harsh, anyways not for me ! My best blind buy was Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle even thought it was long ago and for some reason I don't reach for it a lot, it still smells amazing and I love it and I will always have it in my collection, it was a blind buy for me!
Angelique Noire is my husband's signature scent, I prefer SDV.
I know I’m in the minority here, but I absolutely HATE Rouge Malachite. The tuberose and jasmine used in it smells absolutely dated (I’m talking the kinda scent i used to smell on my grandmother). I don’t know if i got a dud decant, but I’ve read other people describe the tuberose in that as “bubblegummy”, which I’m surprised about. Tubereuse Imperiale by BDK, however. THAT I don’t mind, and actually smells bubblegummy.
Which reseller website did you get the Guerlain from?
I got mine on Vinted but I always check eBay and Depop too!

1st blind purchase of 2023- Guerlain Gourmand Coquin ❣ so unique ,gorgeous, delicious.... a little worried no one else will be able to smell it though.... same experience with Feve D ... sooooo powdery , I have struggled to find any Dior private line that I like enough to 💲💲💲, tuberose ..... uggghhh tuberose lol one of my struggle notes , I can smell it in Blanche Bete and I feel like I'm on a teeter totter with that one bc of the tuberose note in there .... best of luck with the blind buys of 2023 😍🥰

It’s very much okay to blind buy, like it and then change your mind and declutter it! Also totally okay to blind buy and not even like it one bit and declutter it even if it was highly recommended to you 🙂 it’s just part of how fragrance lovers are 🥰 I must admit I’m the frag lover that blind buys without sampling first, although I usually love my blind buys! But I’m definitely starting to sample more often lol!!

isn't fragrance experience so interesting? Powdery notes along with soapy or aldehydic notes can be pretty challenging depending on taste preferences. Some people steer clear of patchouli or earthy iris. While others don't like strong green notes like oak moss or galbanum. Scent exploration can be a long road and something we might not like can become a like or love in time and the reverse can happen too. 🙃 😆
I have found the more I smell and explore, the more I find myself enjoying challenging fragrance notes. I am sad that the Cuir Belugia was too vintage and soft for you. I really enjoy it. I want to test out Feve but I have a larger tolerance for some of those powdery nuances in fragrances. It's hard to test out where I live. It would have to be a blind buy for me. 😬
I do agree on tuberose being a powerhouse and I have to be picky with my choices. Rouge Malachite is a powerhouse. I have it, but only use it on hot Summer days when I am going to be outside. I have to spray it lower on my body or it can feel overwhelming if it's too close to my face. If you are interested in exploring tuberose a bit more, some people say green tuberose can be a better experience. Some tuberose haters like Guerlain's Tuberose in the Arts and Matetials line. I think the tuberose isn't dominating in that one. I find white florals in general can be a bit hit or miss for me.
I have sampled Atomic Rose and found minty nuances in the opening. I had a headache that day and I don't know if it was the fragrance or something else, so I have to revisit that one.
I liked Angelique Noire, but it wasn't one I felt the need to rush out to buy. I am going to use my sample again in the Summer to see if it grows on me.
I like tea fragrances but Princess is still a little too costly to be a blind buy. It isn't an easy one to sample where I live. Is the tea note like a green tea milk bath smell with a soapy powdery quality or is it more transparent and spicy?
Starlight sounds appealing and I hope to sample it in time.
Glossier You may or may not be one for me. I can be challenged by fragrances that open with a strong soapy or detergent note. It likely wouldn't a safe blind buy for me.

I know you were asking the creator but I thought I'd leave my two cents~ Princess by Kilian doesn't scream tea. If you don't look at the notes and you just smell it it smells like high end marshmallows that are powdery. Only when you read the notes do the tea and ginger make sense and you can smell them once you are aware of the notes but I'd say those notes aren't what (at least I) predominately get. It's in the same vein as PDM Oriana. Glossier You is so good in my opinion ! Only downside is it's slightly overexposed (you smell everyone with it) so there's that. In my opinion it's not soapy or detergent smelling, it's more pretty girl musky/powdery without going sweet smelling. xx
Glossier You, Dama Bianca, Gris Charnel, Sunset Hour, Minuit et Demi, La Perla Possibilities, Prada La Femme and Starlight were all amazing blind buys for me.
Pure Musc was my most failed blind buy. The musk did not work on my skin at all, it almost gave off a sweaty salty smell on my skin. The reviews sounded amazing and with the matte white bottle, I wanted to love it so bad ❤
Je Ne Sais Quoi was another fail. It is an incredibly unique and authentic gourmand but not something I want to smell like.

Funny story, but probably half of my collection were blind buys 😅 luckily, all of them were absolutely amazing and I love them all. There is only one, that just didn't fit me, even though the scent is really lovely, but it just doesn't suit me so well. It's from Afnan Perfumes "La Fleur Bouquet".

I don’t understand why you say that Dior’s Feve Delicieuse is being discontinued. They still have 3 sizes available on the Dior website.
Which country are you in? I am in the UK and it hasn’t been available for a while. Sometimes you can get it in store but very difficult. I was advised by a SA in Harrods it was discontinued, maybe it’s just in the UK?

I only bought a decant and it's so bad,, unless it needs to settle from the plane or something (bc iv'e had that with other fragrances in a couple weeks/a month they smell completey different) so I am going to revisit, but as of now it repulses me and I cannot believe the rave reviews !
I haven't blind bought in ages. A couple notable misses that come to mind: Ristretto Intense Cafe is the main one. Coffee was a note that I really wanted to explore when I was relatively new to niche, as I sought something that smelled close to the real experience of a coffee. And I own several in that scent class, e.g. Black Phantom, Intoxicated, and Mystic Experience. What I was looking for, after the original Intense Cafe, was something that seriously ramped up the intensity of the coffee note and while Ristretto does smell darker & less sweet than the original, it was still just an evolution of Intense Cafe, and not as coffee-forward as I'd like.
And this will sound weird, but I blind bought Aventus. Now it is true that you can't really blind-buy Aventus, especially a niche snob that at the time had already sampled several takes of Aventus (Morning Chess, Cedrat Boise etc), but we'll go with it. And I must admit, I was expecting the worst and it basically happened as I expected. Aventus notoriously has performance variation by batch, and my 2021 batch is an absolute tragedy to the point where I gave my bottle away.
Towards my earlier days, I was a tad more trigger-happy than I am now and while I don't really wear these that much anymore, Oud for Greatness and Naxos both were largely impulse purchases. Not complete blind-buys though. I don't really wear them much anymore though - for Naxos, I started to look for more niche-smelling niche, and for OFG, I struggled to find utility for winter fragrances like OFG/Herod that aren't that office-fitting.
You are very sensible. I blind buy a lot less than I used too but I am still guilty sometimes. Ristretto Intense Cafe, I nearly blind bought as I liked the idea of a more prominent coffee note. One of my favourite coffee forward fragrances is Akro, Awake.
I have totally nearly blind purchased Aventus for Her, surprisingly never smelt it as haven't felt the need. It is one of those fragrances where I just feel I 'need' in my collection as it is a classic.
Starlight smells like parsley to me. I am so happy to have avoided a unlucky blind buy the last moment!
I recently got a decant of Princess and adored it. 🩷 If anyone in Australia knows where to find it in the new bottle (like yours Hayley) would love to know. For some reason, it's all cue balls here. 🫤
The cue ball has the best formulation, lasts much longer than the new bottles so I suggest you cherish that
