One of the things that makes a woman truly elegant: Books, self confidence, being musical, articulate, knowing social graces and being kind and generous. These are rules for elegance that people dont mention and should mention regularly!
What you said. Elegance also involves naturalness and simplicity. Not trying too hard. There's a certain refinement that is subtle and understated. You can't quite figure out what it is about the woman that makes her so elegant because there's nothing obvious or flashy about her. Think Audrey Hepburn visiting impoverished parts of the world with Unicef. Or Michelle Obama facing rabid critics and haters with grace and intelligence. True elegance depends both on outer things like understanding the cut of a garment, and inner things like composure, grace and dignity. And it will all fall apart if the person is self absorbed, conniving, or unkind. ETA: I didn't actually see anything about "elegance" in the video.
@@IvyRoad I agree with you! It reminds me of Belle (or really any of the disney princess cartoons) from beauty and the beast, how she handles the beast and the way she is so kind and loving to her father...she is extremely elegant in the kind of woman that she is even if shes just wearing a blue peasant dress. It's a lesson that elegance comes from the heart and soul. It is easy to spot but difficult to master.
@@OpiumBride Yes, this influencer is very clear that her goal is to teach women how to land rich men. She's been interviewed about it and that's what this is all about. It's not about elegance at all, it's about dressing yourself to be the woman a rich man wants to have. I can respect her honesty, but let's face it, that is not the same thing as dressing or being elegant.
@@IvyRoad trying too hard could be having 3 bags of bleached hair on your head.
@@IvyRoad yes it’s more advice for call girls probably very useful in that case.
Like others have said, this would be soooo much more help if you provide alternate looks to the bad look.

'Plade' shirt ? Class...
Who care what this diva said , wear what you think is better for you and yours wallet
I live in New England farm country so I'm not giving up my 1940s Woolrich plaid jacket! It's great for pumpkin festivals and trips to the farmers market. I think the secret to elegance is to wear what is appropriate for the occasion, and HOW something is worn is just as important as WHAT is worn
Well said. Fashion sense is very personal.
Fall is Plaid shirts, T shirts with Fall scenes, Jeans. And if you live in the Southland or the West, Western cowboy boots. Great for Fall festivals & bonfires. Anna Bey wouldn't like this. LOL!
Your absolutely correct.
I'm from the UK. Every single thing you've said not to wear, I actually love. I say, wear whatever you want.
😂😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like cargo jackets but she’s right in terms of elegance it’s not it and sandals in the winter yeah not a good idea But yeah look bulky in a housecoat if you want it’s all up to you you’re the leader of your style choices
That’s exactly women in France , Italy and Switzerland look elegant and the ones from UK don’t
She says all that while wearing a purple sweater with her bright red nail polish 😂 I can tell this lady is the type to judge people as she walks down the street lol
A Malik, you think our Princess of Wales isn't elegant?
I would really like these videos to be more like: what NOT to wear in/on ____ and what to wear INSTEAD. ALL in 1️⃣
She does have a what to wear or what elegant ladies wear in fall video. But I would love an updated version. 😍

As for the long knitted top/dress, I’m reminded of Tim Gunn saying on Project Runway, “if you have to ask if a clothing item is a dress or a top, it’s always a top.”
lol thats great!
That's good advice!
DESIGNERS!
@@mindy561 😆
That's a great thing to keep in mind, thank you :) I have a long knitted top, but I don't know how to style it elegantly. Do you happen to have one more advice by any chance?
For any ladies watching, "basic" is actually a style aesthetic (also mine) so definitely don't feel discouraged. It also depends on how old you are, where you live, what the "style culture" is like there, etc. For instance, the skinny jeans and Chelsea boot combo is my go-to church outfit; it's comfortable, casual yet classy, not crazy and not lazy, and it makes me happy, which is all that matters!
It’s been a classic look for 10 years for a reason.
It is not a classy look! Not for the middle classes.
I wear dresses or skirts to church, I developed a great passion for vintage clothing and the music, so slowly started collecting here and there 30s-50s it’s like playing dress up but it’s not costume just part of my style!
I wear skinny jeans, a blouse, and a moto jacket for Devil worship. It's a dressy casual look that works!
Yes, I'm basic. With inflation and job losses, I'm happy just to have old basic clothes to wear. I mean I would like to get some new pieces, but food and shelter has to come first.
The Teddy coat is great for a cozy look. I will never give up mine
You do you girlfriend 😘
I love mine too! It feels like I’m wearing a cloud. I don’t really care what people think, as long as I’m comfy and feel good. ❤️😍
I love mine too, it keeps me warm 😃
@@christinecho779 don't improve yourself

It still boils down to how you carry yourself. I’ve seen very classless women in Gucci and Prada.

Karman Jane, that is not the point Anna Bey is talking about. Look at the point..🙏🤲⚘🎶🎷😊
Personality , self esteem and body language speaks volumes regardless of what you wear.
Look appropriate for every activity...My Grandma used to say this and now Mom preaches this.

Wow, you're gorgeous 😍😍😍
How true
Until "every activity" becomes me wanting to snatch off my heels so I can do sporty stuff lol
It really depends on the area you are from that affects your style. For example, in the southern part of the US it is VERY hot during the spring, summer, and fall (especially the summer). That's why, if you go there during this time of the year, you will see a lot of people wearing not very "fashionable" clothing. We are literally MELTING from the heat! We tend to lean towards your basic styles, because they tend to be cooler and easier to wear in sweltering temperatures.
Thank you. Yes. It can be humid and almost 90 in November in Texas. I’ve even worn shorts on Christmas Day.
As a Canadian, I will never not wear plaid in fall.

Reminder : don't compare yourself with others, each of us have our own time on our own phase. We will achieve great things too, but first we have to accept that we're unique in our own way and most importantly we should stop comparing ourselves because it just slows down our process and stops us from really fulfilling our own true potential. Let's keep working hard and take a break too! ✨🦋

I'm so basic with my Chelsea booties , but the teddy jacket?
Wear something practically affordable, comfortable, made you feel special and beautiful in your own eyes.
right! even just to be clean is enough
@@lilinew9453 yes, but not enough to be considered elegant. Elegant requires more than just a bare minimum of being clean.
Bingo
@@NATE2905 Not really. Audrey Hepburn is a perfect example of just to be clean cut and simple.
@@irinaivanovic9792 elegance is clearly a subjective matter
Im short, petite, slim and curvy.
I love a teddy coat and the boxy shape and feel good in clothes that dont hug my shape. If I feel good thats all I care about.
I think your videos are more about attracting a man with feminine attire rather than wearing what you want and making it work for your body.
I think all clothes can work and if you feel good you walk confident and that is then projected.
Elegance is not about the clothe you wear or how you wear it, its all bout attitude, personality, respect to yourself and others
No. It is about both those things. Elegance is about your attitude, but it is also very much about how you dress. You will never be elegant if you dress like a slob.
Wrong, buy yourself a dictionary lol. This video is about how to dress elegantly, not about your personality etc.
“A woman with class is timeless.”

Elegant ladies in the southern hemisphere watching this and taking notes : ✍👁👄👁
lmaooo
I haven't seen those hideous teddy coats in New Zealand, thank goodness. They look to be made from synthetic fabric which doesn't tick the sustainability box.
Girl 😂 we'll look elevated next autumn
😂😂
@@denisegore1884 we've got plenty of other hideous things women wear here though!
I think class means more attitude than wardrobe. Looking down your nose at people is not classy, it is snobby.
💯💯💯
It is about clothes and attitude. Both.
I totally agree with your comment. This lady have something against people who is not skinny. Watching this video was a totally waist of my time.
Switching off after 10 mins each to their own I guess I wouldn’t wear that lilac knit she has on but I don’t look down on her like she appears to do to others in some of her examples! Bloody rude!!!!
Clothes are meant to express one's attitude
Tip #2 is so spot on. I bought this coat a few months ago, wore it to dinner, but didn’t realize until looking at the single photo of the night: I looked three times my size. I have not worn it since.
Thanks for the smile 🤗
They look like the coat ate you!
Only Carrie Bradshaw could wear a coat like this contrasting with the naked dress, so everyone looking at her would not think of the coat. And it’s a fairy tale, in reality, not so many women are Carrie-shaped and Carrie-perfect so as addition of a size or a two won’t mess up the impression.
Anna actually says what our mothers used to tell us all the time, I think these advices are universal across time, culture, religion and race. My Asian Indian mom wouldn't approve of all that she doesn't approve of as well! I used to hate her advice, accuse her that she is making me look like grandma. But I think she only was making me look graceful and I was trying to pull off signature looks which was at the end making me look uncultured!
Yes. And it's tricky because we want, when we're young to strike out on our own and be supported while still be given distance and if there's any trauma then that throws off everything.
@@danielleleclair7506 can you explain What do you mean?

...and I'm sitting here, in my cargo jacket, knitting my big scarf 😂
And guess what it’s ok. I love cargo jacket , leggings, and booties. I think some of her rules are unrealistic
@@fashionandluxury101 It also depends where you live. If you live in a large city, those clothes would look out of place but are perfectly fine in the country or in a small town. Cargo jacket is good for hiking so you can keep your hands free but bring little things you will need.
You’re going to look fine, and those clothes make you happy, I think most things she says are ridiculous…she forgets we wanna be comfy and happy even if we’re not Elegant or on trend…..
😂😅Knit away!
@@artwithmamafairybreadd You seem to be on the wrong channel, dear. This is for women who want to be elegant and upgrade their lifestyles. You might prefer the prepper and survivalist channels.
I do the boot and skinny jeans outfit a lot with a nice chunky sweater or a nice jacket or cardigan. Men still approach me left & right - and I’m no supermodel but I could give one a run for her money! I feel that as long as your hair is done, your makeup is good, your nails are neat and 🧼 clean, you smell good, and you smile...you will radiate a sensual, feminine aura that men cannot resist even if you’re wearing a trash bag. 😉😉😉
Who has ever met a man in a trash bag? That's what I want to know. 🤦♀️😂
I would not think this way or dress up to look just a sex object to attract opposite sex for sex . In fact I dress up to look good, to feel good. It's about me just myself. Sadly many woman only think sex object about themselves. We should value ourself.

I just KNOW this one is going to call out my high school stuff. The American rural south can be brutal with the cheap-looking trends at times.
When I was working with the public, I noticed that there were different popular styles for different social classes.
Yes, like the cold shoulder look done present day is an example.
@@mmthomas3729 Absolutely yes. After watching the video, I realize that I didn’t fall victim to as many of these trends as I thought. I guess I was always anti-trend in high school and wanted everything to be “normal” so I don’t look ridiculous in any of these items but I also don’t stand out.
@@nancydegrassi5151 I hate cutouts of any kind but especially on the shoulders or on the waist of skater dresses
Major side note: Anna, have you ever thought about doing a funny story time series or perhaps reacting to fashion faux pas? You are HILARIOUS without even trying to be 😂
Her pretension is always hilarious! Be true to yourself. Life's too short to do anything else.
Agree 🤣🤣🤣🤣
YES I would love to see this!!! She really is effortlessly hilarious! Her reactions always make me laugh. She has so much knowledge, so we'd learn while getting entertainment! ❤
Anna can react to my fashion faux pas. I'm imperfect and have lots of them. I'm unemployed and overweight too, so she can tell me how my look is cheap and what a fashion and body wasteland I am. There's nothing like women supporting women! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 7:32 is where she totally had me 😂😂😂
Living in a warmer climate, where we have a warm or hot Fall season, we do not wear many of the cold weather items. It's a "one season" climate -- warm and humid most of the year. But, if you're traveling or visiting a cooler Fall climate, I wholeheartedly agree with the tips given by Anna.
Certain types of sandals look terrible and flip flops 🩴
@@lmusima3275 - Yes; flip-flops are more appropriate for pool & beach wear (or when gardening). Also, I think open-toed shoes should never be worn unless the feet have been tastefully pedicured.
I bought a ivory color teddy coat from aritzia and I got it tailored and now I’m obsessed with it. I didn’t want to get rid of the coat because it was boxy because it’s so practical for winter weather in New Jersey.
She is completely wrong on the Teddy coat!!! I've had my Max Mara since 2014. It's alpaca and silk. So warm. Indestructible! It's an icon! That's why it's been a staple of the house since 2013. Shearling dominated the runway this fall. Coats shoes and bags.
I don’t think any clothes can make a person can look elegant. Either you are or you’re not. It’s a soul thing. It comes from inside. Try to match your wardrobe to your personality instead or it will look off. If you’re the girl next door be that a 100% wear jeans and a t-shirt you will be authentic and you will be respected.
I guess her content is not for everyone. It is for people who need to look polished in their workplace or what is more controversial the ladies who want to attract 'affluent men'.
It does not suit my lifestyle either, I love and will wear a lot of the things mentioned in the video but dress elegant when I need to (which for now is rather rare). I pop in here from time to time but I really dislike how she mispronounces some words lmao.
Yes, the right close can make you look elegant. Trust me ;). Anyone can look good 👍.
@@anetabrlikova8454 it depends what each person thinks is elegant… your dress in your picture would not pass elegant for me.
Also Anna’s clothes, for instance I don’t fancy jumper she is wearing in this video. So to say what is elegant and what is not is not that clear cut.
For sure, too revealing clothes are not elegant for me, nor are too flashy, like big brands, visible logos..
So to each their own, even when it comes to elegance.
@@adk5997 Of course, I knew someone is going to comment my profile picture with something bitter hahaha. I only said, that right clothes can make you elegant. 😏

I just tested out one of Anna's thoughts about pinterest, and sure enough when I looked up fall fashion 2022 I got the skinny jeans and booties, the big scarves, the monster boots, the plaid, the oversized coats and sweaters etc.. these super tired looks have been around for over half a decade! So boring and cheap looking! Anna is so right!
Thanks Ana for the reality check ! We are all guilty of becoming too invested in a look which we convince ourselves looks great, but lacks alternative perspective... I'm tall and slim but am long-waisted and have learnt the hard way to keep the bottom half consistent when wearing black tights.
I have upgraded myself & life SO MUCH since I started binge watching your videos (it was much needed I do so).

I've lived in both warm and cold climates and depending on the weather it also dictates what's needed. If you're going to be outside in 30 below weather making sure your jacket isn't bulky isn't always an opion. And when you live where it's around 80 F in the winter and you're on a beach you're not going to wear closed footwear.

As someone with a Max Mara Teddy in beige for apres-ski purposes…. Oh, well 🤦🏼♀️
I find I can make it look almost elegant if I pair it with my usual classic style. It’s all in the styling and colour.
Unfortunately, wool/cashmere coats just don’t cut it in -40 degree weather for me, even with layering.
P.s. North American ladies, if you’re looking at Max Mara (The Manuela is really quite elegant), try either buying it yourself in Europe or having a friend do so… excellent quality that lasts a lifetime for almost 3/4 of the NA retail price. 💕
exactly! in places like Canada or Norway chic goes out of the window but warmth is essential
I think the teddy coat can look sooo chic! Definitely didn’t agree with a lot of Anna’s points in this video.
Best place is to buy it is Switzerland where its warm enough for Swiss weather. Max mara coats in the UK are ridicously thin. But agree, they are three times the cost in Australasia!
I also own a Teddy coat, and I find it very elegant when styled appropriately ... I think it’s way better then a puffer and it a great alternative for people ho don’t want to wear fur jackets or puffer jackets when it’s very cold. I agree whit Anna that a very difficult piece to style an the quality counts because it might look very cheap but I think I will keep being elegant event with my teddy !!! I just try to style it as a fur coat and it works!
I love the Teddy coat! I did a winter coats video styling it and in my opinion it looks very elegant. As you say when worn in a classic way x

She knows nothing about style. Look at that hideous purple sweater.
@@TrumpyBooden Thank you!!! Looks like it came from K-mart.
@@AccessoriesAddict5528 that color is not it 😆
I hate going to find fall outfit inspo bc these looks are flooded on social platforms. Do you have a list of feminine ladies you’d recommend for style inspo? Thank you Ana
Look for shirinatra, maybe is not your style but you can still give it a try
Highlowwlux is great
@@fers4822 jumping in and saying thank you for this suggestion. I subscribed to her youtube.
@@mzzzd818 thank you, I loved this one too. I subscribed.
Style Pantry is my go-to.
OMG! Love this video. I am getting back into the workforce and want to look more elegant and feminine. The struggle is real. I hate plaid, shorts etc. All of these things made perfect sense for me because I am short and curvy. So, seeing these inspiration images on pinterest is frustrating. 😂
Anna,
You make me happy watching your videos. Thank you so much for giving me the tips to not only improve my style but to help me become who I really want to be.
Kind regards,
Natalie :)
Thank you for this channel. You definitely know what you are talking about plus you promote the classic look that is timeless and beautiful, always, regardless of individual taste.
Hi Anna, This is one of the best videos I've seen on fall clothes. I am a bit older and grew up during a different time. I realized after watching this that I do not wear a lot of the things you mentioned so I feel better. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you!
I am young (27) and also happen to not be wearing any of these items. Just not my style 💁
Oh my, I love rider boots with tights and plaid shirts. I feel this is more about demeanor. I want to point out some "elegant" women come off basic. People always tell me I'm elegant but I am pretty sure it is because of my mannerism. I sometime go basic but prefer the creative/ cultured splash. It's the personality for me.
And you're totally right ✅️
I love Anna, she is so beautiful and charming and elegant. I trust her recommendations, she knows what she is talking about. Loyal fan here.
“No open toe shoes in winter” Us year long flip floppers on the central California Coast…
👁👄👁
My mom is from Southern California and she said she didn't even own closed toe shoes besides her work shoes when my dad moved her to NC 33 years ago. 🤣🤣
Yes!! Exactly.
I live in the south and I never wear flip flops in public unless I am at the beach.
✍️ Point no. 10 - When going outside, don't forget to put on pants . Got it 😅 In these post lock down times you never know actually, I might need a reminder
@@edennis8578 I was horrified to discover that I wore my slippers to a doctor's appointment!
Your hair and makeup is perfection! Absolutely stunning 💜
It’s fine if you like basics. Wear what you like and if others don’t like it oh well. As long as YOU feel beautiful in it. This world is forever judging anyway, people wear what you like. We are not all suppose to look alike. Fashion and Style are two different things.
"Is no bueno!". You got me!
OMG THE TEDDY COAT IS A CRIME 😂
Really 😁🤣😂🖐️😂
looks like a skinned labradoodle
Finally! Someone was brave enough to say it!
It should be banned along with leggings!
It looks so comfy though 😅
I just want to say your videos really helps! I your tips even though I don't take it all. I do what I think works for me but these tips are definitely help!
I agree with all....but I still love my plaid shirt so much. So I add a nice belt on it, et voila!
I really appreciate your videos Anna. The explainations helps me put things into perspective. Love it!
Hi Anna ! Love your videos 😊 they are so helpful and fun to watch. I have a request here, could you do a video on how to look elegant/ put together after a workout ? I know that sounds strange, but sometimes I will need to go somewhere after my workout and don't have time to completely change . I know others who work out and will make a few stops after the gym. This would be so helpful ! Thank you !
Anna your doing such a social service by pointing out how to wear clothes. I'm so so so happy abd thankful to have found you 😍🥳
I agree with almost everything here- with 1 exception- open Toe Shoes 🙂 I was born and raised in a cold country, where open toe shoes are a novelty for only a couple months out of the year. Now I live in South Texas. It’s sunny and warm here most months of the year, and I celebrate my open toe shoes as often as possible. With a little thought, and the appropriate climate, they can work in any season❤️
Same in South Florida
I can see how that makes sense, in such a warm place. I'm Canadian, I live on the freezing cold Canadian prairies, where open-toed shoes would only make sense in the summer, but in a warmer place, I can see how it makes sense pretty much year-round.
Well Hello my Fellow Canadian! The 'cold country I was referring to in my OP is Canada! I was born and raised in Alberta! Lived on Vancouver Island before moving down here to South Texas many years ago! I love my open toed shoes, but I do kindof miss wearing boots for longer than a day or 2 in February! You have that advantage for sure! Stay warm my friend! @@Julia-nl3gq
I love cargo in Autumn at the park, walking my beagle on the grass, with a big check scarf, feeling Queen Elizabeth in one of her huge properties 😁
Not with the flannel or plaid. I love it. It is cozy and just good, especially if the cloth used is good
Anna, you always make me smile with your comments! By the way, i agree completely.
Cheers from Argentina 🇦🇷
You should do more demonstrations for all body types with actual model's and full warobes. And lux for less, where to shop on a budget for luxury elegant looks. And luxury home decor!
That would be so helpful.
Yes yes 🤍
She has already made some of these videos
In Uruguay spring started a few days ago. But i trully enjoy your videos so, i watch it anyways ♥️ thank u Anna for helping us to be elegant an femenine.... you are amazing!

Thank you for helping me transform into an elegant lady. I have watched you for a couple years now, and I have come so far. So I thank you ❤️
Great video as always!! Thank you Anna!! I know vídeos take up a lot of your time to make so I appreciate them much more.
Could you please make a video on what shoes to where with different dresses or outfits? Like what type of shoes looks good with a certain length skirt or dress or outfit in general?
I have the hardest time looking for shoes that match my outfits, I don’t know why they never match.
I have no idea how I ended up on your channel. I had a 2 year old and 9 year old and a husband in the military. If I have time to change my underwear everyday it’s a win lol
I love your fall style breakdown lady!
