Thank you so much for this information! I had code P0018 and P0019 on my 2007 Toyota Camry and could not find anything that got right to the point. Then I found your channel and this video. I followed your instructions step by step and it completely fixed my issues. Also saved me so much money and time doing it myself. Thank you once again!

This is the reason I think you should always use an egine flush , such as Amsoil or Liqui-Moly . And for a heavy duty cleaning , BG EPR flush .

Hi, thanks for your video. One question, I cleaned the vvt-i and I did the tests and the solenoid excited it with 12 volts and the same thing happens as in the video, that is, it is apparently fine. Then I found that when I made contact and measured at the terminal of the vvt-i valve I have 1.84 volts, is it normal that it has such a low voltage? my car is a corolla xei with simple vvt-i from the year 2008 1ze engine of 1.8 liter displacement.

This is okay, I think it has a nice vvt now I used some lime sized seafoam run to the petrol as I tested on a mower when at the body the black soot removed the filter breaks down and it's the best perished I could to done , for leaks at times threads it's cause it's a plastic sensor rev s in wet weather there's nothing to dispel water a cleaner later

Just changed my engine oil but theirs soo much dirt on the solenoid when it was removed.. I warchanother video here abt engine flush which suggested engine flushijg a modern engine is a bad idea.. Now I'm confused. Changing my engine oil isn't fixing my dirty engine.. I'm seriously confused as to how to get my engine clean so stop the clogging of my vvt solenoid.. HELP!!

Will cleaning work if my solenoids are clogged with sludge and metal shavings? or do I need to buy new ones? (I just had them replaced in October)
Background: I have a 20x12 GMC Terrain with 165 that suffers from the well known high oil consumption issue (I've already had to get new timing/pistons, had a rear seal blow out from clogged pcv valve, and new exhaust system vvt from clogged cat) , most recently I had my vvt solenoids replaced in October when I took my car to mechanic for stalling when idling (mechanic noted that my original solenoids we're covered in metal shavings). Now it's stalling at idle again, so I'm guessing they are clogged with sludge and/or metal shavings, and aren't "bad" being just 3 months old. Cuz I really don't wanna shell out the money again to replace them, especially when I know my engine is probably going to go soon.
Follow up question, knowing that my engine has metal shavings from degradation, should I use the engine flush you recommended? or could that possibly make it worse?

READ THIS! A cheap 9V might not be strong enough. I had to use the car battery to get it moving to clean it. Don't think it's broke if it doesn't move with the 9v it may need 12v.

hello I have this code P0014 with my hyundai accent which makes noises and consumes a lot of fuel. I tested the solenoid as you did it gave the same result but I just noticed that there was a kind of mesh in the middle which was pierced, I want to know if this anomaly can allow the solenoid to not not work well.

I have a Ford 3.5l on an Explorer. Getting codes for all four VvT valves. Is it possible I have one bad VvT that’s causing all four codes? Doesn’t seem possible that all four VVT would go bad at the same time.

Decent video but not too the Honda CR-V 2.4L engine and what I asked. Changed oil and used the cleaner and ran 20 minutes. Then changed oil, a week later it started mmaking that sound but very loud so I was listening to engine, sounds like I need power steering pump on its way out but coming from engine, I took the oil gill cap off and I'm getting good preasure coming out like exhaust now and that's making a noise also and engine changes like it goes to stall out but catches itself as it does that like the timing advanced to keep running. Have plenty of preasure coming oit tail pipe, replaced both 02 Sensors with a new PVC VALVE TOO. I use 0W20 oil that's Fully Synthetic, anyone have any ideas what this can be, making appointment at garage hoping I have enough money to cover bill. Runs great and quiets down when driving it, doesn't make sense to me. Don't want to blow up engine. Have 147K I bought itv with 116K from a recently retired school teacher left 1 piece of paper with her name on it as owner, small dealer I bought from missed it too. So I looked her up and her Husband answered, I explained who I was taking a chance and he told me that he was retired and now his wife just retired, so they both traded in there vehicles for new, asked me if I mind how much I paid. He fell over since tires was a year old and battery just 2 years old, I took to dealer for oil changes at 1st until they scraped up my wheels on free tire rotation, wheels either fell over on Front face scratching them and I just washed the day before and took pictures like I do. I take pictures of almost everything for records even on gas fill-up so I can figure out mpg. I started changing own oil for less than half the cost. Need help if engine on its way out or what should I do next besides take to shop. Anyones idea's ?
