Hi Jane, we rescued a Romanian dog 3 years ago, she was 2 at the time very nervous, couldn't even wee out on a walk and the vets said it's probably because she feels vulnerable for the very short time it takes to do that 😢. BUT we have a campervan and had planned months before a 9 day trip to Wales and 13 days after getting her we went with her in tow, in at the deep end no idea how she travelled, slept in an awning, walked long distances etc? She absolutely thrived ❤ we actually managed to take her off lead in a dog designated area on one campsite and she played with a fellow camper dog. Since then she is THE best.. as long as she has her people she trusts with her we can go anywhere and show her life is so much better than the start she had. I'm so excited for you and the life you will have together xx

We have a resue dog from Spain. He is now 9 and absolutely loves travelling in any vehicle. Nightmare as soon as the car door is open. We already had a black cat and they ignored each other. If anything the cat wanted to be friends but not my Toby. After that cat died we got 2 more cats and same situation. The cats love Toby, Toby tolerates the cats. We also have chickens which he just watches. Have faith that it will be fine. Alot is determined by how you feel. Animals feel your soul I am sure. Exciting times. Also love watching your leather processes. I have an old jug of my Grandma's in the blue and white and just love the old earthen ware stuff. Sucker for it too.
I would so love him and Sassy to be friends! I almost got her a kitten as I feel she’s lonely, but instead decided on a dog 😬
I agree that animals can see our emotional states, I need to stay calm and not get too excited around him initially, which as you can imagine isn’t going to come naturally to me 😆
