These are my favorite kind things on CZcams. I Love steam engines and I love your videos. Please keep this up. Watching you content puts a big smile on my face.
I know other people have commented on this but, as I am a Ffestiniog Railway volunteer, I felt the need to point out that four of the engines are from that railway. The green tender engine is called Blanche. The small blue engine is a quarry hunslet named Britomart. The other green engine is a double fairlie named Earl of Merioneth (which has sadly been retired). Finally, the engine on the end is called Taliesin.

Amazing race. Also the little blue one is a Hunslet I've seen a 2ft one on the bredgar and wormshill light railway named lady Joan its truly cute

Oliver if you didnt know that that long green steam loco that was two-sided that is called the FR Double Fairlie and the red one next to it is called the FR Single Fairlie (Need help with more locomotive names that you dont know ask me cuz I know everyone of them)
The green one is known as the Mighty Square! Sadly mothballed as of 2018. :(
The light green one is Called Blanche or it could be Linda and the blue one is britomart and the green one is called a double fairlie and the red one is called taliesin

In your loco list, anything with the letters "FR" at the beginning is narrow gauge. They come from the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway.
I guess the green Fairlie engine would win since it has two boilers and more driving wheels

Engines 1-3 are locos from the Corris Railway.
Engines 4-7 are locos from the Ffestiniog Railway.

its a little unfair for the engines on the outside track because it takes longer to turn for them so the engines on the inside tracks have a better chance of winning because they don't have to go as far
They also lose speed due to tighter turn tho

I voted engine 3. Wasn't surprised with the result. The battery engine doesn't have a motor or a flywheel it needs to rev up, or need to wait for steam pressure to build. It just goes, because it's powered by a DC motor.

Also, a tip for a better race next time. You made it so the ones on the inside have a much better chance to win than the outside.
I recommend is either:
A. Make the corners alternate in the turns (1st turn goes to left, 2nd to right, etc.)
B. Have the engines start at points going farther back (If confused, look up track starting positions)

3:45 it's called a double fairlie, and you can find a few on the ffestingnog railway in wales.
3:57 is a single fairlie also from the same railway, you can see the difference

The first three are available in the game's store, they are the Corris Railway (comes with the first engine) and the Corris Railway expansion pack (the diesel and the battery-powered engine).
As for the others, idk

Narrow gauge locomotives aren’t as fast as standard gauge locomotives due to wheel size. Larger wheels allow for a higher speed while smaller wheels allow for more reactive effort(pulling power via traction). Do that’s why they’re all slower than standard gauge
