They actually simulated dropping down the spark arrester on the hinges, I can’t recall the hotkey off the top of my head, but I have dropped it down before
oh well that is badass! I will need to figure that out...

I love how in Derail Valley Hyce is adhering to the speed limits because of spicy numbers make train go flying off the track, but here in TSC hes "i paid for all of the speedometer, so im gonna use all the speedometer!!" Lol

Those spark arresters have always been interesting a video on them would be awesome.

Clear creek lol. A tributary of the south platte. You can still walk the old rareroad bed up the canyon. It’s a trail now. Also the clear creek is where your coors light beer is made from.
Some enterprising RR enthusiasts could reinstate the line on that trail. Now, that would be a reason to visit!
3:25 Yeah, the chime whistle is nice, but at the same time, I'm noticing that the locomotives seem to reuse the sound effects(both whistle and exhaust) from their PRR K4 addon. Man, Dovetail started getting lazy way back in 2016. . .
I don't think DTG developed this addon? that is lame though.

What a delight what's funny is I was driving a class 320 on a sim and had to drive back to the stations true ES&D driving

I just went up to black hawk and Central City. In Black Hawk they have Colorado Central #71 and in Central City they have Colorado and Southern Baldwin B4E #71.

hey there hyce, if all goes well, ill be going from Central Illinois to Golden to study at Mines, and when im settled, i think im gonna try volunteering at the museum for a few weeks, and see how it goes. all i gotta do is the 2 entry essays, and if i get accepted, the annoying part of moving there is gonna be fun

I believe the engineer to look up is Dante Porta. He worked to perfect steam traction up to his death. Exhaust system performance is very important. The Lempor system is praised.

This game highlights exactly what makes RO special: the fact that it is a game dedicated to narrow gauge railroading. You don't see that anywhere else. It's sad to see what's been happening with RO, and I feel kind of lost after the almost constant turnover. If only people like Hyce had been in the lead...
Why did all of the devs leave RO? I left on a ship for three months and looked on the discord when I came back a couple days ago and it looks like the whole team just abruptly quit while I was gone. Now I'm worried RO will be abandoned and never finished like its predecessor.
@@ChadTrainEnjoyer It sounds like the lead developer, keume, had some issues. You can find more on what happened on Hyce's discord. But, the shortened version is keume was difficult to deal with and took zero suggestions and all the money.
@@andrewkruszka1674 Now that's just really sad to hear. I was really hoping that Keume would realize the golden opportunity he and his team had and see RO through to the end with his team. The game had massive potential and it sounds like he blew it. You gotta treat your people right and listen to them...paying them their fair share is also pretty damned important too...
@@ChadTrainEnjoyer Me too. It seemed like the project would be a huge success at first, and in the right hands, it would have been. The main reason the spline update hasn't come out is because of Keume. In fact, it seems as though many of the new models might not come out, either.
@@andrewkruszka1674 What a damned shame. The spline update was looking so promising, and I was stoked to see what progress was made while I was gone sailing. Only to come back and see all of this happening. Very sad, I was really looking forward to the introduction of the T-Boiler Shay and the new spline system and all the other goodies that seemed like they were well on the way towards being introduced. When RO first started back last October it seemed to me like they had lightning in a bottle, a narrow-gauge focused train simulator with multiplayer and a passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable dev team. Really saddened to hear how the opportunity was squandered. This could've been a serious competitor to Train Sim World and the like. If only things had gone differently...

In historical Accuracy Railroads blowing the Whistle at crossings wasn't a thing unless they were going at speed and it was at descension of the driver. the bell ringing when the train was moving slowly however was a thing. the Blowing the whistle at the crossing became a thing in the post war era as everyone started buying cars and city folks being to stupid to see if the train was coming. You'll find very few railroads have the phrase "blow the whistle" when approuching the crossing in their Road rules and codes books. However every Railroad had blowing the horn in the Rule/code books. This Rule your referring too is also in the period the Modern Traffic light and Crossing barricades/flashing lights were being developed and finalized.
And yet people still choose to ignore the warning signals

There is a train game on roblox that is called Stepford County Railway and see if you can try and keep a good and sometimes on time schedule. There are other different train games on roblox that you can try if you want to.

I've been watching alittle bit.. but since you ARE the expert on these C & S steam engines.. the folks who modeled these engines outta listen to what you have to say about them to get them closer to realistic to experience how you would feel them run (also correct some of the equipment placements on the engine too) for your engine that you know personally.
I have not actually run a true C&S engine! I have run 346, which was leased on the C&S; but there's no C&S stock out there that still runs. What is left may be more modernized than what they were modeling; so it's challenging. I would love to help give pointers though.

But until then I wanted to follow your footsteps in this video and play some good old narrow gauge railroading from train simulator classic. If you or anyone else can help me my question is was this a DLC you bought for train simulator classic or did you buy train simulator classic and everything was included? Just a little clarification would be very nice thank you!
Trains leaking in the winter; is that due to low temperatures causing the metal to contract in some areas?
A number of things, but yes; cold shrinking fittings, pipe, gladhands; mostly it's the actual O rings in the gladhands (what connects the cars' brake pipe) not wanting to seal right when very cold out.

First i had heard of TSW3, went and looked and sure enough. I seriously wish people would stop buying them and make them realize we won't put up with buggy re-releases every year that basically are just routes added and instead focus on fixing things fundamentally flawed since the first TSW. They aren't doing enough to justify the repurchase and its insane.

Really enjoying these videos! Could someone please tell me how to fix the out of memory issue in train sim classic? I have rebooted my computer several times and even did a full factory reset. I have a top of the line HP laptop that I purchased this year. Do they have a patch that can fix this problem?

Dovetail games really suck at making an independent brake do anything at all.
People really don't seem to get airbrakes at all in any sim anywhere. lol
@@Hyce777 The automatic brakes, while flawd, will at least stop you to some degree. But heaven forbid an independent brake slammed on should ever stop a light locomotive.
