The success or failure of this mission will have future consequences for air superiority and, ultimately, invasion plans."

    This whole project build and video should be nominated for an Oscar. It is actually very factually correct. Amazing work.

    Its great to see the not only the construction of the model, but to see the virtual story of the history of the actual plane played out in the sky. My hat is off to you for your creativity, construction skills, and story telling. It took a great deal of work and time to make this great little video, congratulations. You are truly having too much fun! 😃

    That's an amazing job, i always rewatch the build video, its one of the best builds ive seen. If you don't mind me asking - why ommit the two sirens on the landing gear? Sorry for asking. They usually don't sound right on small scale, but i like them anyway.

    • @punkworkschannel
      @punkworkschannel  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks for your comments! I guess I forgot to make the scale sirens. I was thinking about adding one of those whistles that go on the out side of your car to scare off deer and moose, just didn't get to it when I made this video. Thanks for watching!

    • @xxskippernate409xx6
      @xxskippernate409xx6 Před 6 měsíci

      Right with you. I tried that on my little 400mm mustang, it didn't go fast enough. You might want to enlarge the hole if it doesn't make noise in a dive for your bigger planes. If you do put the dive sirens or whistle on, I'd love to hear it.

  • @steveperry1344

    Great job on the video and was nice to see the model flying. What cause the crash (besides the Spit of course)?

    • @punkworkschannel
      @punkworkschannel  Před rokem +1

      Thanks, not exactly sure, but I suspect it was mostly do to my bad piloting skills (getting lost in the silhouette). There was only minor damage and I was able to repair it and get it back in the sky for more filming. The crash did come in handy in the making of the video though, glad I got that on film!

    the heart of the Luftwaffe the Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber fighter of the second world war.

  • @Glicksman1
    @Glicksman1 Před rokem

    The proportions of the JU-87Stuka make it a particularly good flying model as longs the size is on the larger side. Lots of wing area keeps the wing loading low and the generous tail surfaces help keep it stable. Too bad it was such a murderous weapon against civilians in the hands of the Nazi's. Still, a great model. Nice to see that the swastika was not shown.

    • @punkworkschannel
      @punkworkschannel  Před rokem

      Yes I agree, the wing loading was creeping up as I built it, but got it up in the air. It is an interesting and challenging subject for model building. It has a goofy and menacing look at the same time. Just trying to keep things fun, no historical accuracy here. Thanks for watching!

    • @Glicksman1
      @Glicksman1 Před rokem

      @@punkworkschannelYes, fun is the goal of our hobby.
      The biggest and most interesting problem when building scale flying models is how to add convincing scale detail without busting the maximum permissible wing-loading for good-looking, well-controlled flight. This is why simpler aircraft designs (Piper Cubs, etc.) work so well in this genre. Aircraft such as the JU-87 present constant problems for which compromises must be made. Materials such as foam and blown thin plastic parts help a lot.
      Size, in this case, and for many good aerodynamic reasons, really matters. Smaller scale models present an almost insurmountable set of problems that can and usually only be solved by so limiting their weight and structures that they can only be safely flown indoors or in absolutely still air (rarely found outdoors). For authentic-looking outdoor scale flying, go large or go home.
      As we know, full-size aircraft are mostly air surrounded by the most minimally necessary structure. Our scale models must be constructed similarly if we want them to fly with any reasonable scale authority. Otherwise, what we get are all of those flitting, super-speedy, mosquito-like things that can hardly be said to be “flying” at all.
      Cheers and good flying.
