Brilliant! The wing construction is fantastic, and how fortunate that this way was chosen when considering adding ailerons. The Lewis style gun on top of the servo is likewise just amazing. I shall run out of superlatives soon. What a great aeromoddeling film! A Nieu subscriber borrows a pun. 👍
Thanks for the feedback! I searched for that plane for over an hour each day, thought I'd never get it back. I ran an experiment with the camera I used to determine it's distance and lined up the trees in the video. Found it within 10 minutes on the third day just a few meters from where I had searched before. Just lucky it didn't rain!
Fantastic video on so many levels. The video quality is amazing with clever use of B&W and fonts and music choices. I might share this with my multimedia students for inspiration! And the airplane...so beautiful! I love how you used the machine gun to cover the servo! The ending...so...historically accurate and a tribute to the many the lifted off to a quick end. Can't wait to see more from you!
Thank you! Each model has its own character and "personality" and I try to let that be the guide to the creative direction of the video. With no talking or narration I need to make the visuals and music be as interesting as possible and tell the story. I like to keep the descriptive frames to a bare minimum like the old silent movies. It's a real compliment that you would consider sharing the video with your students, so please feel free to do so. Thanks again for the feedback!
Really lovely scratch build, and what a kick to fly! Glad you found it (almost became a submarine 😉). For what it's worth, it took me years to learn that opposite rudder is the best way to get out of spins, since aileron drag can actually cause the spin to tighten. You probably already knew that😉. Great job!👍
I think I shouldn't have been flying on that day as it was windy and the plane being so small just got away from me. I couldn't really see it so far away, it had that reversed silhouette effect. Not sure I'm skilled enough to recover from a spin anyway. I really thought I lost it for good, but one more look and there it was. Made for a good ending! Thanks for subscribing!
What a nice-looking model! And the whole video so artistically done. 👍 I see that you're from Canada but a bugle "Taps" played for the crashed plane would have been awesome.
Nice. I built one from scratch 30 years ago for an OS 30 gas engine. It's a hanger queen now, maybe I'll convert to electric some day. I recently posted a video of my Bristol Scout on my channel check it out.
The free plans are from the June 2021 edition of R/C Model Aeroplane magazine. Might be able to find it online. Check out the build video on my channel if you haven't already. Thanks for watching!
Nice scratch build! The next time, I'd glue the servo on its side, on the bottom of the top wing though. It could have been completely unseen from the top side. Just my friendly 2-cents. 🤷♂️
Ya, I think that would work as well. If I did this model over I would probably build the wings conventionally with ribs, spars and covering. It wouldn't take much longer and it would be more aerodynamic and have space inside for cables etc. and more options for servo placement. Might fly better as well!
All I can tell you is that I found the plans in the June 2021 edition of R/C Model Aeroplane magazine. It's a British magazine but it is available in the book store near where I live here in Canada. You might be able to find it on the R/C Model Aeroplane magazine web site.
You can't "scratch build"from someone else's plans. That is called "plans built". Actually scratch building requires you to draw your own plans, as in starting from scratch, my friend.
It is a quick way to build and you're right, you do have to be careful of warping. I think if I built this again I would take a bit longer and make traditional spar and rib wings for it.
You build beautyful little planes! 👍🏼 But, your flying is not so good… Ever heard from CG? Or amplitudes for the rudders…? Please practise a little on a PC-Simulator… ✌🏼
Brilliant! I cringed when I saw the servo sticking out of the top of wing, but then you covered it with a machine gun. Great looking plane!
Then I saw the end, uughhh...so sorry, what a bummer!
Thanks! It's still tricky to fly with the ailerons installed. It was kinda fun building the machine gun.
It had surprisingly little damage after being outside for 3 days, just lucky it didn't rain. Got the battery charged again so all is good!
Same... ✨
BRAVO ! Brilliant engineering !

That is the cutest little Newport. Nice job on your build.
Thanks!
That was fantastic, very entertaining and so glad that you found her and repaired her. Many thanks. 🇦🇺👍🍺🍺
Ya, I was lucky it didn't rain while she was lost. Thanks for the comment and watching!
Good as Nieu...that had me chuckling. Nice job! -Dan
Thanks!
This is like a marvelous miniatures channel. But better!
Thanks!
Excellent work. You have great models and all the videos.
Thanks!
What a great video, thanks for posting it! I hope the pilot survived.
Thanks! The pilot still hasn't shown up at HQ!

very nice little N11! Good job! Got a 1/4 scale balsa usa Nieuport 11 I built a few years ago, new nice, easy flying plane
Thanks!
great job, great, professionally made video, thank you very much for the pleasure.
Thank you! That was a fun video to make!
Beautiful Nieuport great job friend.
And flying again,amazing.
Greetings from Colombia.
Thank You!
Lovely build
Thanks you!
What an artistically done video(and model) maybe someday i will start building....
Thanks, hopefully you'll get to building sooner than later!
@@punkworkschannel thanks for the encouragement!
Good idea to hide the servo under the gun. Nice work. 👍👍👍
Thought it needed ailerons and a machine gun, two birds one stone.
So nice, enjoyed that one.
Thanks! I had fun making this video.
I will take you idea for that ailerons servo install, that was brilliant, thanks.@@punkworkschannel
Just saw this, beautiful aircraft, glad to see she didn't fall into the hands of the enemy
Salvaged and repaired, ready for more sorties at dawn over enemy lines.
Great Introduction !
Had fun making that video. Thanks for watching!
So cute deadly machine!
Lots cool paint schemes to choose from with this model. Thanks!
Amazing
Thanks!
Thought your plane pulled a Guynemer on you. Good to see it recovered and repaired, it looks great.
I thought I lost it for good, I was happy to eventually find it relatively intact! Thanks for watching.
very nice
Thanks!
nothing less than superb, as all of your models are. Also, you should produce movies. :)
Thank you! Just having some fun.
What a nice-looking model! And the whole video so artistically done. 👍
I see that you're from Canada but a bugle "Taps" played for the crashed plane would have been awesome.
Thanks! Ya, it's hard to find music that is copy right free, but Taps would have really worked for this video.
It’s only considered “scratch-built” if you drew the plans, otherwise it’s “plans-built”. That being said, beautiful job
Thanks! It was a fun and challenging build!
nice plane, good story...
Had fun making that video. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant!
Thanks! Had fun making this video.
😎👍💞 Awesome Work .
I see you fly a long time become your Reaction is verry stabiel 😉👍
and Axidends happens some time.😩
Thank you! Yes the accidents are part of the fun!
Very nice flyer.
Thanks!
it is magnificent, 😍😍😍I built the Nieuport IV. I built it a month ago and it still hasn't made its maiden flight.
Thanks again!
Ficou lindo, parabéns pelo trabalho. Acidentes acontecem.....
Obrigado (Thank you!)
i look for that issue and plans no luck but i did see outer zone has the original plans but IC version
Sorry, I'm not sure where you might find that issue.
Nice work! Just to check: it looks you have too much throw in the commands. Also do you use negative expo in your commands?
I might have, and I think I need to fly on calmer days.
I Love a Happy End ... maybe you could change the gun .. for a camping set . and a barrel of repellent :)
I was lucky it didn't rain for the three days it was missing. I like the camping set and repellent idea (perfect for exploring jungle areas).
Nice. I built one from scratch 30 years ago for an OS 30 gas engine. It's a hanger queen now, maybe I'll convert to electric some day. I recently posted a video of my Bristol Scout on my channel check it out.
Thanks, I'll have a look!
What plans? I need to build one. Great job!

Are these plans on Outerzone yet?

Hi if you don't mind me asking what's the A U W when finished plz
Love the plane and the gun lovely job
Thanks for your interest. The total flying weight with battery is 385g.
Thanks!

OK, thanks.
Keren 👍👍👍🥰
Kembali
NICE....
Thanks!
Thanks!
How hard is it to make that type of wing with the ribs glued to a sheet? I always picture warps and have stayed away from it. Very nice looking model!
It is a quick way to build and you're right, you do have to be careful of warping. I think if I built this again I would take a bit longer and make traditional spar and rib wings for it.
Air rates, are too high
Could be, thanks.

Ever heard from CG? Or amplitudes for the rudders…?
Please practise a little on a PC-Simulator… ✌🏼
Thanks, I'll try that.
lol
Thanks.
