- What does a nuclear strike look like on TV? It could look like this.
THIS ISN'T REAL!
I've decided to update some of the first videos on my channel - namely, the classic BBC Nuclear Attack Warning. It's a crash course on how to survive the apocalypse for over 60 million Britons - preparing for apocalypse to strike.

Just before you enter the comment section... *This isn't real.*
It's an example of what it could look like if there was a nuclear attack against the UK. There has never been a nuclear attack against the UK - and hopefully there never will be. The truth is, the public has no idea what would be communicated. This remains an example of what could, out of millions of possibilities, be the communications during a crisis like this.
This is scary . My dreams are predicting that there will be a big necluear war with Canada and China and that there will be wanting s out there and bad things could happen . My dreams predict stuff even before it happens
Sounds like the updated Protect and Survive films, and just about equally useless...as the ending proves.
But like where would we go cuz we don’t exactly have shelter or somin cuz we don’t really have these types of problems

As a brit I can confirm whenever "I hear we are stopping normal programming" I already think I am dead.
I like this. No unnecessary jumpscares, no generic sirens in the background, no loud noises, just the realism of the situation.
Fr I feel like the loud alarms would scare people/children if it's calm, everyone else would be calm
That is how it literally happened during WW2 followed by the speech of the prime minister Neville Chamberlain declaring war on Germany on the radio. The speech is on CZcams.
It's the British way. For example, look at a British ghost documentary compared to American ones. No flashy editing, no jump cuts, no loud music wirh a fast drumbeat. Just quiet narration and intensely creepy music.

What's funnier is that all important people royalty government etc are already in nuclear bunkers before the announcement has been given.
Any known privately owned bunkers would be known about and would be already planned for taken over by military to use as sub command post's.
Forget racing off in your cars to safety as roads will be shut by armed military allowing only V. I. P pass holders through.
Rest assured government and military bunkers will be well stocked with food, water and have a filtered air supply.
You are nothing more than a sitting target a potential sacrifice.
If you manage to make it, you'll be escorted with other survivors under armed guard to work in the clean up operations, don't work don't get fed, simple as.
Able bodied citizens work for food, the rest get shot, huge food shortages meaning there is no other possible way of recovery
Get the whisky out and drink as much as possible . There will be no point hiding in any makeshift shelter.

It's scary how this is in reality could actually happen at any moment right now with what's going on
Do no be afraid, no matter what 🕊️
Seriously doubt it would go that far as any world leader who fired a missile would know that was it a missile would be aimed back at them. More likely tactical nukes would be used.
Yeah, the fact we've been threatened to be bombed is worse.

I live about 3km from a potential target. IF it did happen I'll be grabbing my finest bottle of Scotch and a deckchair then heading to the front yard to get a wasted as I could and watch it happen. There is NO WAY i'd want to be alive in the aftermath.
You’d be bollocksed 3km away, that’s not in the fireball but it’s not very far from it, you’d be cooked alive by fire storms and shockwaves travelling at 500mph
Bring a bottle to the end of the world? Heck, why not! I've done the reading, seen Threads etc, and I couldn't agree more: I'd rather we'd never developed the damned things to begin with, but, failing that... Over here, son, on the head!

Tip: If there were a nuclear attack, first you’d see a white, blinding light. You have eight to ten seconds to do these things - Lay on the floor in an inside area, with your thumbs in your ears, and fingers covering your eyes. Extreme heat will burn you, but it will not cause physical harm to your body. Breathe through your teeth, and just hope your hair doesn’t light on fire 😊

Thought this was real ngl
I don't agree, you've got less than half an hour to find shelter, so you wouldn't have any time to follow the advice being given here. This video is more of a way of waking people up to what they should do to already be prepared before such an emergency broadcast is made.
@@4TheRecord we would probably get about 4 minutes notice that's it
Actually it's a coppy of the 80s one the 80s one is better
@@gameglitchgone I reckon little to 4 seconds more like lol
Given how quickly everywhere ran out of bog roll in the first day of the pandemic, I don't fancy anyone's chances of securing 14 days worth of food and water in the event of a nuclear strike.
Everyone would be put robbing everything lol . There wouldn't be any staff in Sainsburys to get 2 weeks of shopping, t would be chaos . Plus we would be the last ones to be notified anyway, after the government are tucked up nice and safe in a bunker in the west country.
You don't need 14 days of food
@@d283jdsk2 exactly, humans are very very good at surviving without food for a surprisingly long period of time. some people have survived for up to a month on just water
@@zaccccccccc What about getting water tho? I am in a family of five, 3.5 liters per person for 14 days is 245 liters. Where would I get that much water? Maybe quickly fill up some bottles from the tap but I dont know if we would have enough time to do so.
@@Ivann1005 I’d go with hurricane advice and try and keep a bathtub full with as much as you can, but knowing that we’d all likely find out at the same time i doubt the water system would be able to cope with everyone trying to get some at the same time. ultimately it comes down to having some prepared, but i don’t have any prepared and i know most of us don’t too. i might get some of those office water machine water barrels and keep a few in my basement just in case.

by the time you listen to this you’ll have like 30seconds to get 2 weeks worth of food and drink to survive 🤣🤣🤣
Depending on where the missile is coming from its more like half an hr to an hour.
😂😂😂😅😂😅😅😅
If the country which was going to nuke us was planning to, assuming from what we know from nagasaki and hiroshima they may most likely try and warn civilians before the bombing to leave the area probably a few hours prior at the least
As I understand it, nowadays it's nearer 45 minutes than 4. To be brutally honest, I preferred 4: just enough time to say goodbye.
The jumpscare by the BBC Clown at the end scared me lmao
Tv licensing will still be in operation so expect a visit at your shelter during war.
I've just spent 11 months living in a makeshift bunker eating tins of baked beans thinking this was a real broadcast.

very well put together. Smart that it’s longer than 4 minutes as well because we would have only 4 minutes notice before a strike and this would, as grim as it sounds, keep the majority of population stuck in front of their devices awaiting instructions which would reduce the widespread chaos in the streets that would ensue following the announcement.

I was spooked by the first few days of lockdown and basically stopped watching telly for six weeks. If this ever actually happens to anyone, lock all doors and try cover up windows with blankets if their broken or if you have blinds , fall out dust making contact with you can result in very bad sickness or death. You can not see ,hear or feel it. Use bags of sand or grass or dirt to block out fall out dust , go as far away from windows and doors . if you come in contact with fall out dust wash your hands and face immediately. if you have someone’s corpse cover your face and hands with something while putting it in a bag or covering it up while disposing of it ( you can take it off when it’s outside your house) and you should dispose of it within 3-4 days of the person being deceased. If you have anything like paper put it far from your home, it can start a fire. turn off all electricity.

If this ever happens just know…
Stay calm.
The three threes:
3 minutes without air
3 days without water
3 weeks without food.
Also.
It’s best to stay with another person preferably one and get into the smallest room. This is because of 2 reasons. 1:The other person will make you calmer and you will both have to try calm each other down. And 2:there will be more room depending on the amount of people there is in your house. And sadly, if you can’t find your pet. Or can’t move them from their cage, etc. Then it’s best to leave them. For you and your family.
Some more tips:
- Never look out the window when you know a nuclear strike is imminent - the flash will burn out your eyes and permanently blind you from miles away.
- Go as low to the ground as possible, and lay face-down while protecting your head - the shockwave of a nuclear detonation will topple most buildings. Open spaces aren't good, because you will also need cover. Things like the engine block of a car can shield you from the initial flash's heat and radiation in a pinch if you can't find shelter.
- Once the bombs have detonated, you need to find shelter IMMEDIATELY - nukes throw up irradiated ash, dust and dirt which will rain down as debris and then as black rain later. If you stand in this rain for more than ten seconds, you will die.

A lot of these mock EAS videos people go overboard and start writing in these war narratives, but in reality if an actual emergency alert system would go during a time of war it would be something neutral in tone like this, which is why I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I had a question about the final image with the girl and the clown doll? Is that an actual thing with the warning system in the UK? What’s the cultural significance of it?
Girl with doll was bbc's test card that bbc used to use in 60s 70s 80s when they went offline before channels where 24hrs
It's called Test Card F (now Card X in HD) - @m s has got it spot on :)
As a failsafe all BBC TV channels will broadcast that image (without the text) when the transmitter looses input or is otherwise disconnected from the transmitter control equipment (other channels and organisations have similar systems)
Like for example during an episode of comedy TV in the late 90s where they had to pull the plug on the transmission due to the joke being obscene
