I was informed that if a nuclear strike hits the UK , for normal people who aren't in a nuclear shelter, we are all dead, one way or another, I rather die in the blast than wait for radiation poisoning, only the rich will maybe survive.

Well being as the latest weapons travel nine times the speed of sound so if an attack did occur it is most likely you will not know until after the event.

I'd be out in the garden looking for the blast. no way would I be trying to survive thanks very much.
