The easter egg in this watch is that although it's a dual time zone watch, because the 24 hour numbers move and the gmt point is fixed, the time for other cities will always be at the same point in the circle, so you can use it as a worldtimer watch if you memorize the fixed circle point of the 4-6 cities that you care about in a way that you can't for most gmt watches without the clutter and dst issues of traditional worldtimer watches and it's a rolex.

@@cjb5499basically the GMt time is always at 12 o'clock. So if I want to know the time im England for example, i can check where that is now, (say at 3 o'clock fot example) and england time will always be in the same spot

Great video Teddy.... I've been a fan of the Sky Dweller since it was first launched. Unfortunately, the solid gold price put it out of my price range. Fast forward to Jan 2020, I was walking the other day and while passing by a Rolex Dealer, low and behold there is Two-Tone Champagne face one sitting in the window. Someone put themselves in for it and apparently lost interest in the year it took for the store to acquire it. While, not a fan of the Two Tone/nor the Champagne face, I put it on and viola.... This is one beautiful timepiece. Since then, I have fallen in love with it. If you can find one new and afford it, I would say scoop it up, you won't regret it and I personally think the two-tone is really the only "untouched" market in the skyrocketing values that have encompassed the Rolex catalogue. Teddy, I'd be really interested in your thoughts on the two-tone marketplace and where you think it may or may not be heading in the near future.... Thanks!

I do think this is a great watch. I was visiting a well known online retailer based in Florida the other day and got to check this exact reference out. In real life I'd argue it is not a pure white face, but actually has a dash of silver to it. It is not, for example, the same white you get on an Explorer II, and you can see even in this video the contrast between the face and the inner ring which is pure white. In any case it looks amazing.
If you travel a lot this would be a sweet watch to own, but it is fairly bulky compared to a GMT, and unlike a GMT there is no bezel to calculate a third time zone or use as a rudimentary timer. Truth be told, most travellers would probably be better off with a GMT. But if you want something a bit more dressy and a bit less subtle, then here you go.

Not going to beg an AD on my knees if I could please buy a stainless steel watch for $14,400, plus taxes. Not going to go the grey route either. Buying a luxury timepiece should be a pleasant experience, not an exercise in futility and frustration. Takes away from the whole experience. Imagine buying a luxury vehicle and having to wait 1 year and the salesperson giving you an attitude of how grateful you should be. Rolex is getting on thin ice with me. Not bought one in 11 years and have dropped a few tiers. I can spend $2000 and actually walk out of the store with the watch I want, on my time table. The Sky Dweller needs to go on a diet before I get near it.

skydweller and daytona are my favorites. But I wouldn't say no to a yacht master.👍

Excellent review, Teddy. I am not a big fan of Rolex because, in general, I find them rather boring. I can’t say that this watch lights my fire, but at least it’s interesting and looks like it would be fun to own.

I hope someday, as technology/technical ability improves they can implement this in a 36mm, 38mm, hell even a 39mm! 🤞🏾

This watch takes not available to the next level though. Multiple AD's haven't seen a steel sky dweller since they first came out and were distributed.

I ordered the one with the black dial at a local AD in Luxembourg. They told me I had to wait about 18 months for it. Well, 3 weeks later they called me as it had already arrived. Guess I was lucky.

@@TeamChard awesome! Yes you were, they don't always know what they're getting. I'm surprised by that as Luxembourg is a very very wealthy nation.

@@laurensuyttendaele481 Yes, they told me every weekly delivery is a complete surprise for them, they never know what they're getting. I'm also on the list for a steel Dayton, but I should count on 6 years waiting time approximately.
