    Your videos are amazing. I just installed an ikea kitchen of my own and your videos were so helpful. I even emailed you about a design problem I was having and you were kind enough to draw me a sketch and email it back to me. I wish you continued success in your business and CZcams channel 🤘

    What length screws do you use to connect to cabinets together or cabinet and panel piece? Also what gauge brad nails and what length for those as well? Been watching all your videos as I’m about to install my own ikea kitchen next week and it’s very helpful!

      In this video I used 1.1/25in screws for both cabinets and panels.
      For gauge brad nails I use 1in Dewalt brand nails.

    What a real pro! The way you cut and measure gave me a lot of inspirations, because my drain is also from the ground and to be inside an island. Only thing I don't understand is your last part, why extend the 2 cabinets just with a side panel glued and bracket on, that's not a stable structure. Or it's something that's not finished yet?

      Once you attach the plywood, it all becomes very stable.

    Interesting way to wrap your Island with panels. I do it slightly differently.... but virtually same result. Have you tried an SDS drill for concrete yet? I was amazed how much better they are than a standard hammer drill. Looking forward to your next video.

      Yes, I use it too... I have it in some of my other videos :)

    What is the name of the back piece you are using that is the full height of the cabinet for the dishwasher? The side panel they sent me was so short it won't support the counter top?

    • @maxplus2849
      @maxplus2849  Před rokem

      I used a 36"*96" back panel, on the side I used a 26"*36" panel, they sent you a 30*25 panel and that's why it doesn't work for you

    What state/country do you do your installs? Is the empty stall on the right meant to be a dishwasher garage?

    • @maxplus2849
      @maxplus2849  Před 2 lety +1

      Northern California. Yes empty space is for dishwasher.

    Did you rip that cabinet top free hand on the table saw? I have never seen that!

    • @maxplus2849
      @maxplus2849  Před rokem

      Yes, I cut the panel with a hand saw, the main thing is to put the panel face down.

    Are those real cover panels you use for the back of islands available only for certain types of kitchens? They seem to be impossible to find for Lerhyttan..lol

    • @maxplus2849
      @maxplus2849  Před 2 lety

      Yes, the size of that panel is available for all kitchen variants, but certain types are out of stock... unfortunately, yours is out of stock for the past 2 months from what I know.

    Never again! We placed a $5,000 order at the Ikea in New Haven CT and they screwed it all up. As soon as we paid we were told half the cabinets and other parts were not available. A month later and we received 3 deliveries (which we had to pay each time). The last one came today and we were missing 15 items out of over 100. Driver would not take responsibility. Ikea customer service crated a list for us to go to another state (NJ) to pick them up. Got their (2.5 hours away) and they said they did not know what we were talking about. Tried calling the service number and they put us on hold several times, then hung up. NEVER AGAIN!

      I worked with Ikea cabinets for a more than 7 years and what you are describing is a pretty recent occurrence. I've noticed they had supply chain issues since 2020, and they are trying to find different ways to solve it. Hopefully they can fix it soon, but with Ikea in any case, you have to plan like 3 months ahead.

    becareful if you are building an IKEA island. You need to get specific counter tops. We got the Karlby to match the rest of our kitchen counters and its only 25 5/8" in depth and the cover panels are 26". so in order for us to use it we have to modify the cover panels somehow. Poor design choice by IKEA.

      The customer makes a 12" overhang and I don't do the design, I just installed what they wanted.
