I LOVE the fact that you have your son learning and taking in all the knowlege you've gained as a contractor! Man! To be able to be an apprentice under you would be PRICELESS!
I LOVE working with my 2 boys!
Your channel deserves an automatic like for every video releases, great information and well explained!

I got inspired well watching all you home DIY VIDEOS, you make it seem so easy. I just started remodeling one of my bathrooms because of it. When I seem to miss a step I just fall back to one of your videos an everything makes sense. So far bathroom is turning out awesome, thanks for the help👍👌. I intend to finish with flying colors an keep on remodeling room by room.
@@frankdatank2529 Agreed!

G’day mate, I love listening to a bloke who know what he’s talking about. And you sir are a true professional tradesman. Well done and thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Can you please make a video on cutting baseboards and painting them? Same with crouwn mouldings. Thank you, Jeff!
U r amazing, thanks a lot really, best of luck for your upcoming projects
That freaking tip you showed at the beginning to flip the tie over and just rip it off BLEW my mind. THE AMOUNT OF TIME IVE PUNCHED MYSELF IN THE FACE TRYING TO RIP THOSE OFF.
mynillas lol I have always done this, and people look at me like I just did magic 😂😂
Excellent tips. Screw length discussion alone is something everybody needs to know. Also, the thermafoil moisture issue with wall cabinet placement is also great info!
I really like how u get into detail ,passing along this beautiful craft, not keeping it to ya self like some greedy foremans/veterans out there ,why not share knowledge? god bless u bro 💪🏿💪🏿
I can not express how much I love your videos!
Mate, just watched your dry wall vid and now onto this. Great work.
Tomorrow I start an install of 4 base cabinets which I bought from my local DIY store in Australia today. - I'm so impressed you can buy ready assembled cabinets.
Anyhow - great explanations provided - thank you!
Thank you from New Haven, CT
Your awesome, you supply tons of information and wisdom.
There is something odly satisfying watching you build a kitchen ! Thumbs up :)
Thanks kevin. lol Cheers!
;-)
I appreciate the concise description of install procedure in addition to the insider tips born of experience. Lots of heads up about stuff that you may potentially run into. I am looking to install a farmhouse sink on a corner cabinet and have found no topics on this situation. Any tips/ info would be helpful. Thanks!
Great Video thank you very much for putting the time in to make these I really enjoy your channel I have learned a lot
Glad to help. Cheers!
Thank you Jeff for the great video!
I love your DIY videos, they are great! I would like to see a garage renovated to incorporate a workbench area. One that could have a table saw and tool area. I would consider this as my man cave area. Maybe have the floor painted and weatherized. Keep up the great work on the channel and Thank you!
Great Video Sir! I live for these weekend videos as a new home owner.

Hey man thank you so much for uploading these videos! They keep me interested and motivated to improve my skills and knowledge about pretty much everything construction related! I do have a lot of negative experiences in construction but a positive and skilled craftsman like you is what I aspire to be!
Super glad to help motivate. We all need that from time to time. Cheers!
The video is sooo informative, and thank you sooo much.
We all said "that's good there" when you hit the right height. Guess you didn't hear us. Love this channel.
Nice tips! Just what I need. thanks!

You're just great man! Simple as that. Listening to you from across the river :)
Cheers mate and Cheers to Gatineau!
Good stuff Jeff!
Good stuff as usual !
Excellent presentation and great tips.
Thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video.Cheers!
Another great one.. this will definitely come in handy...
Glad you Liked it Cudda Brown. We appreciate you taking the time to comment on our vids. This is how we grow the channel. Cheers!
This video went to a whole new level 😱
Also make sure you plan for the under cabinet lightings before you install any backsplashes!!!
A laser level is so useful!! When I first got my house, after gutting it, the kitchen was my first big project. I figured I would invest in a laser level to help with installing the cabinets, but I didn't figure I would ever use it much again. Boy was I wrong... I bring it out all the time.
No nonsense install, well done.
Great tips Jeff!
Thank you Antonio!
Great tips. I think the quick grip clamps would be really helpful holding the cabinets together. I bought a Bosch laser very similar to this one in the video (2 lines). If I had to do it over again I'd spend the extra money on the one that throws the vertical laser (3 lines) up to the ceiling as well which can replace the use of a plumb bob for doing steel stud tracks and stuff like that.
very handy if you use steel.Cheers!
Jeff you're the freaking bomb!
love this guy. it looks like he can build a whole house one hand working one hand smoking cigar.
Lots of really good advice.
Thanks Lee. Cheers!
very helpful video, Jeff! Do you have any advice on properly shimming base cabinets without adjustable legs? Or could you point me in the direction of a good resource? Thanks.
Not installing any cabinets just enjoy watching your videos and supporting the channel! See in the next video!
Thanks Andrew! Cheers!
Your AMAZING!
Want to know a major bugbear of mine? Im a tiler and something that really gets my goat with some kitchen fitters is when they dont level the base cabinets properly when the kitchen has a free standing cooker. Was booked in to tile a kitchen only recently and the client chose bevelled metro tiles. When i put a level across the gap where the freee standing cooker will go, the base cabinets were out by 10mm. Dont sound much but if i had to tile that kitchen i would have had to start tiling at the 'low' end and when i tile across the gap, and in order to keep the tiling level, i would have had to cut the bevel off the metro tile! She would have sued me i think! Kitchen fitter has to come back and remove worktops, sink, plumbing, etc and lower the cabinets on one half of the kitchen and then refit. Ouch. Another fantastic tutorial. Cheers mate from London
only person ive seen flip their tool belt around like that! might have to try flippiing mine around.
very handy!
Good tips!!
Thank you sir for this video!
Thank you Magic. Cheers!
Love your channel! I am about to install some IKEA kitchen cabinets. They recommend installing the floating laminate floors first... your thoughts??
Hi Jeff good explaining
Thank you. Cheers!
I hate galley kitchens but nice work! Keep up the great content and work! :)
Great video! I am going to install ikea cabinets soon. To save an extra cm at the countertop, im not going to use the metal rail. (Cause i only have 62cm depth) So I assume I have to mount them to the back wall as you did? But I will have to use the square metal parts in the ikea cabinet right,to mount it to the wall.
great info fast straight to the point, intelligent,. handy, smart tips, not talking forever about dumb stuff. solid channel
You’re so funny 😂 like your witty comments in every video
Thanks Paula, I wasn't aware that I even had a sense of humor.😀
Jeff, would you be able to do a floating kitchen cabinet tutorial in future?
Fabriteq? Home Depot Canada. Very similar (same). Quality control was bad though. Both by HD and the QC company.
You’ve taught me something within the first minute just by opening the box 🤦🏻♀️
Hello Jeff, we are moving forward to cabinets installation for our kitchen reno. The wife preferred Ikea cabinetry. :( Would you recommend custom build base or stick with IKEA feet? I’m more concern with it’s not being level for final countertop install. I’ve seen CZcams demonstrates building base with plywoods and seems sturdy. Thanks.
Great teacher 👨🏫
Thank you very much! too kind.
Good stuff, Jeff. I would have spent a bit more time explaining how to find the highest point and why it's important.
15:28 "you gotta hit it from the front and the back" ok I'll try to be an adult here.
"You don't wanna start a situation where if you don't screw it in the back they can start curving around the room on you" yup. I tried. I really did.
Possibly do a video on making rustic wood cabinets? I'm planning on making rustic cabinets in a small kitchen in my garage apartment your tips would be awesome. Or rustic cowboy style bathroom? With rusty corrugated metal and fence pickets
We will be doing some more design elements soon. Not sure about which ones at this point.
Great drywall finishing haha
Hey Jeff, its me again. Would be great to have the standards measurements (hight from the floor and between counter top and wall cabinets, etc) in the video description. Working on a project to replace my kitchen cabinets and this info would help me a lot. I know I can just use the same measures I have now, but for people is installing it from scratch, this info would definitely help. Again, another great video. Thanks!!!
Frank Gonzales Thank you!
I saw this type of Cabinets installed 30 years ago been around for a while
great video . I you just gave me an excuse for a new tool the Dewalt laser level.
Thanks for all the information
Our pleasure Tim. Cheers!
should install vinyl plank first and place cabinets on top? or install flooring after to their edge?
i love your videos but i wanted to know how do you fix something like a kitchen cabinet with side panels bowing?
Standard cabinet is 34.5”
Awesome content Jeff!
Thank you Jordan. Thanks for the comment, we really appreciate it. Cheers!
Agreed, this is becoming one of my favorite channels. Love the way the information is provided, mostly straightforward with a little humor/wit blended in. And the editing is great, too!
Thanks Sam Jones , we really appreciate all the comments and viewers who are supporting us!
Thanks for sharing.. i like that lazer level...
Cheers I love mine. !
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY thanks for all the videos you shares ive learn alot...👍👍👍
Yknow you could use the extra space from the gaps to install a sliding spice rack wall like on pintrest but perfectly designed to fit the gaps remaining.
1:06 what type of sorcery is this? I'm never using a knife again. Thanks for the tip and the awesome videos.
Cheers!
Nice job bud
I love that you work in feet and inches
How do I install my floating floor to the toe kick and make a water tight seal? Would I need trim or quarter round to do this?
man you really sold me on the laser...
Thanks for posting all of this Jeff, it's amazing! My wife and I just bought a 115 year old house in Massachusetts and are planning to fully gut the kitchen, pantry, and mudroom in order to install a new kitchen (I'll be making custom cabinets and an island) and a half bath. The house has mostly original pine floors, but newer red oak strip flooring in the current kitchen (estimated around 15 years old). At some point in the future, we would like to unify the flooring - either restore the original look of the kitchen floors or put new flooring over everything since old pine isn't really our style. Do we have to remove the red oak under our new cabinets before we install them, or would you leave it in place and cut around the cabinets in the event of a floor replacement in the future? One thing to note is the floors aren't level in this house, so we've already got some leveling work to do - I was planning to use the EZ Level system or something similar for the cabinets.
that is a tough call. personally i would remove any flooring that is not destined to be there long term. it is really hard to cut out hardwood flush to cabinets. I would even drop in a vinyl sheet flooring in the mean time. that can be cut with a knife later and will be easy to clean in the mean time for a pretty low cost. Cheers!
that level comes from where I live XD !
Hi My Friend what Brand and Model of Laser Level are you Using? Thank You For Your Vídeos You Can Be a Teacher at The School because you explain really good everything.
So do you screw the back of the base cabinet every 16 in/ secure it to every stud? Since you put 5/16 shim behind it you're only securing the top portion?
I've opened the ties for years that way...necessity is the mother of invention.
Congratulations, I was wondering if that was going to be a tip or seriously obvious.
"VERTICALLY CHALLENGED" LOL
Could you place IKEA cabinet doors on these Nimble cabinets? That way you can have the higher range on the overall design.
This video makes me want to rip up my kitchen for no reason lol 😂 just so I can install kitchen cabinets
Loving iT!
Interested in how the kick plates went in...
What did u do with the piece of wood u put in the bacl of the cabinet before u screwed it in?
What happened to the shim that got drilled in between the cabinet and the wall? Did it get rotated out of sight?
His demeanor makes me a better man.
Is there ever a time that you would want to tile first and then put in the floor cabinets? How about under the dishwasher and oven?
hey buddy, quick question, Im having my small kitchen renovated and all the guys who came over to measure and sell cabinets they keep telling me to install cabinets above the stove to use the empty space wall. Since there are no windows in my kitchen I was told that no need to install a hood fan. There is a small 12 x12 vent on top of the wall at the corner of the kitchen closed to the ceiling. My apartment building was built in 1969. Please I would love to hear your advise, do u think it would be safer not to install wall cabinet at all above the stove? very much appreciated your reply. Thanks again
Tip for screwing in the feet: Assemble the feet after you screw them into the base. That way, you can screw the screws in straight, then attach the feet.
lol got him. or get a bit extension
Hi Jeff a we tap the cabinet feet you put them on wrong when you screw the feet to the base there was a long piece on the foot you point that to the Gable it's designed to hold the Gable and when you do that the front of the foot is flat the way you had it it was round and why you do that is for the kickboard so it's not sitting at an angle hope you can understand what I'm trying to explain 👍👍
Thanks for that concern however any other direction and they stick out where the finish panel goes. not like ikea at all. Cheers!
quick question forgot to ask: I bought vinyl plank flooring. That type of floor should be installed before or after the base cabinets? Im getting a quarts countertop on top of the base cabinets. Please advise, thanks
All floors should be installed before cabinets. Why install after?
