Sweet, sweet sounds of stripping a tip.
Informative... I'll be installing my own cabinets next month. Thanks! Now I am a graduate of university of Tube.
Glad it helped!
looks great jim and nice install work
Thanks for watching. Yes it is coming along. Just waiting on replacement cabinets
Great job!
Thanks for the visit
Good job and informative, Jim I seen you as a auto mechanic also and have enjoyed those videos too
Cool, thanks!
Using shims to level up your cabinets is fine initially but their small cross-section will likely allow the cabinets to sink down towards the out of level floor over time and more so with heavy counter-tops like granite etc. We leave the kick-space trim off until we have fitted pine blocking, resting on the floor, and screwed on both sides of each cabinet. Johnny in the UK.
Thanks for your input.
wait a minute...wait a minute....i was thinking where did i hear that voice..humm... i did all my brakes ...properly done mind you....and if it wasnt for you i wouldn't have done a good job...the dealer wanted $1300 for all four wheels i did the job for $350...thank you jim.
Great I'm happy to help on both my channels.
What size screws do you recommend for counter sinking the attachment screws?
The screw that attach the cabinets together are between 1.5-2 inches long. Thanks for watching.
On this video you have plumbing coming from the floor and the wall. This is what I have in bathroom remodel. How do you measure but more importantly place the cabinet with pipes coming through floor and wall? This cabinet is like a built in with walls on both sides and no access to plumbing from below. Thanks
Unfortunately you will just need to measure very carefully and make some cuts in the cabinet. Thanks for watching.
When I removed my old cabinets all the wood shims were loose and dried out. Should I go for the plastic shims over wood shims? Thanks!
Personal preference but I use wood.
What is the size of the drill bit you use to make the pilot hole before securing the base cabinets together?
I use a 1/16 or a 1/8.Glad it was helpful!
Of all the videos on CZcams, I've yet to find one that shows how to shim. They all say, shim as needed. This showed a little bit. But don't you need to fasten the bottom shims?
No need to fasten just the weight of the cabinets will be enough to hold them in place.
How did you get the pipes thru the bottom and the back?
You will need to drill a hole for the pipes. Glad I could help!
i want to see how you did the waterlines cut outs 🧐
Here is the video of the tools that we used.

Put the screws into a 'stud' not "beam" my friend.
:)
Sorry about that you are correct.
What screw size should I use when attaching two cabinets together?
It depends on the cabinets . The screw needs to go through on cabinet and halfway into the other. Thanks for watching.
@@getitdonehomerepair Got it thanks!
Why aren't you using a laser level on the whole cabinet bank? Also, your shims will be off in a few days. I'm installing my own kitchen cabinets right now and using Easy Level cabinet levelers. Takes all the guesswork, trial and error out. Don't see any cabinet clamps being used either. Small investment but worth it as it makes the face flush not just pull the sides together.
