It still amazes me to this day that of all the cast members, the first to know "Duke Silver" was Mark Brendanaquits
Well he was supposed to be the MC of the show like Jim from The Office
Tbf it was made known that Mark is/was a bit of a playing, so it might just be game recognising game.
It might be been April actually, her mom was a huge fan
@@mragin unlikely, Ron asked her and she said she didn't tell anyone and considering April's personality she might not be lying.
April knew 1st dippy
I think the most underrated part of this whole storyline is that it takes like 20 seconds for Andy to even recognize Ron and then he thinks it’s a twin 😂
I know!😂❤
“If my secret got out this office would be waist deep in women’s undergarments” omg lol
What an absolute chad
I love that April did her best to protect Ron’s identity as Duke Silver, although poor Gary.😅
Also, I love Andy’s confession spiel.😂😂😂
Terry! his name is Terry now!
You got to mean Jerry, thats a typo
I still want to know what the other 98% is. 😅
That one chick threatening Diane is playing with fire threatening Xena.
She's not Xena she's Lucy Lawless
@@WolfencreekUmmm not sure if you're being serious and not understanding the reference...
@@Gamerjoyjoy I think what this fella is saying is that you should be more worried about Lucy Lawless than the Warrior Princess.
@@Gamerjoyjoy"I'm not Xena, I'm Lucy Lawless." is a quote from an old Treehouse of Horror with Xena/Lawless in it. Check out the clip sometime, it's fun.
It's "Desperately Xeeking Xena" from Treehouse of Horror X @@JoeyKlu
Donna doesn't look surprised at all when Duke Silver comes out on the stage at the Unity Concert. I bet you all the money in the world that she already knew, she just didn't clue Ron in on it bc that ain't her business in the first place, she ain't gonna blab.
She's such a real one
She’s no snitch.
"Goodbye Duke Silver. May you rest *dramatic pause* in jazz."
“You’re so lucky,”
“I’m going to kill you.”
😂😂😂
You’re like the saxophone player for the Californian Raisins good
This is truly one of the funniest shows of all time
Totally, I too always lose it at 7:13 😂😂😂
Ben and Leslie figuring it out is still one of my all time favorite scenes in the entire show. The look Amy Poehler produces is absolutely perfect, what an amazing actress. Such a great cast and show.
Can we speculate that Donna & Jerry know before the Unity concert? Donna is a lady of a certain age who would have at least gone to a gig to find out what all the buzz is about, and Jerry's wife would 100% be a fan, Jerry just wouldn't have noticed until he introduced her to Ron at a function and she told him afterwards.
With Jerry I can absolutely see it being a Clark Kent thing. "There's no way Ron could be Duke Silver! Duke Silver wears a hat and sunglasses!"
But Jerry didn't know when he's at the studio. It's entirely possible his wife isn't interested in Duke Silver, as she loves her husband so much.
@@YouLousyKidswas gale brain washed or something?
5,000 Candles in the Wind is arguably my most favorite Andy Dwyre moment in the whole show. The more times I hear it, the more I’m about to cry.😢
2nd favorite. First you gotta laugh with the "network connectivity" sickness lol
Rest In Peace, Lil Sebastian. He’s more of a celebrity than the Kardashians will ever be.
@@davidmcaninch4714true that. He was too good for this world.
2:03 that slow look ron does always gets me
"Mark.. you hate Ron right?"
"I think Ron is fine"
I like how they all accidentally discovered it on their own
1:46 "So, come see me, come talk to me, come love with me, and maybe we can walk through fire together". It's really hard to imagine this came out of Ron Swanson 😂🤣
With that kind of phrases he's like a walking thirst trap for people over 40
@@halloweenallyearround4889lmfqo
Hate him though Ron might, he and other Ron really were always more alike than he'd be willing to admit
Only Lil Sebastian could get Duke Silver to Make his Sax 🎷 croon and reveal his tender heart. ❤ we ♡ you, Ron.😢
I’m convinced the lady who threatens to kill Diane is April’s mom.
Broooo... they do have similarities! That is an awesome theory.
That's not April's mom
does april’s mom speak english? am i remembering this properly? i thought she had to do translation growing up.
I love how in that first scene, Tom casually blackmails Mark but it's barely noticeable. Mark seems to wonder if Tom notices doing it himself. But at 0:19 Tom brings up how Mark has to know how it feels because he has a ton of dirt in his past, and Mark wonders just how much Tom knows and doesn't want to find out. If not helping Tom means some of those things might come out... well, it's better to just help Tom. Maybe Tom isn't even doing it. Maybe he is. Either way, Mark buckles.
that was my exact analysis of the scene too. especially the part about mark wondering if tom even realizes what he’s doing. it rlly characterizes tom as deeply manipulative and unwilling to even START by talking to others like human beings. manipulation is his first resort.
In a show with literally 100’s of great moments, my favorite is Duke Silver coming out for the Unity Concerty
LOVE the joke subversion of the banana skin, it's those little things that makes me enjoy the show so much.
that’s so special and i honestly feel like chris added so much characterization to andy that those jokes came super easily. i loved the banana peel joke easily one of the best at least in this video.
I think Donna knew all along but never said anything.
😂 she secretly sat in the back row at his shows and bought his albums. She actually listens to them too, I bet.
That is how you make a friend. She puts everyone else on blast.
I'm certain of it too
If you ask, she’d tell you.
Nobody’d ever asked.
This has always been head cannon for me since the first time I saw it. No way she didn't know.
I always like the fact that Ron is so secretive at the recording session when LITERALLY three of the six coworkers who were with him in the studio -- 50% -- knew the truth. (Yes, Donna knew. No doubt.)
Leslie makes up for at least 75% all on her own
It's the small continuity pay-offs like Leslie gifting Ron the door-closing remote that I really like coming back to.
I love how Tom's idea of "getting dirt" on someone is finding out he's more.skilled and has better game, but doesn’t let anyone know.
April is Ron's work daughter he appreciates her. And his duchess is his world. But dang are those girls thirsty.
Every video always leaves out Leslie and Ron's talk after the concert. Where Leslie confronts him about being Duke, and saying she hates him and loves him and he's going to teach her how to play saxophone lol
I want the part after this where Leslie confronts Ron about Duke Silver.
Duke Silver: the ultimate male sex symbol.
Sax symbol*
I mean.. it’s kind of a power move to be the guy everyone’s mom is thinking of
Bobby Knight Ranger clapping on the 1 and 3 is art in its highest form.
Others have already said this, but I agree, Of course Donna Knew.
"You have a Twin Brother" 😂😂😂
What, you're Duke Silver?
Yes I am Duke Silver.😂❤
8:15 makes me laugh every time
I like how Donna didn't look surprised in the slightest when Duke came on stage at the concert.
Drinking Lagavulin whisky is a next level of watching these clips. I do recomend, end of speech.
Ron/Duke: So take a nice soak in a warm bath full of my jazz
Andy: 🤨
How the hell did Mark even know about Duke Silver?
Mark Brendanaquitz was the only normal person in City Hall, so Ron probably dropped his guard around him, but trusted him to keep a secret once he found out.
I think it’s because Mark (a flirtatious womanizer) has been there in a bar before.
Probably bcs Mark had been on dates with women who listen to Duke.
@@halloweenallyearround4889This is the right answer.
You have a twin brother. 😂
Like California Raisins good 😂
Isn't there another scene from the studio where Andy drinks from Duke Silver mug and than April grabs it and throws it to the floor?
Yeah i love April at the studio
Tom’s 4th wall break looks like a legitimate reaction. Did they not tell him Offerman was going on stage?
I can't believe I never saw the similarities between Ron Swanson and Tony Clifton! 😎
I wanna learn the sax so bad. Ron is yet again the man
Duke Silver is an amazing guy
8:57 “Night Ranger cover band where they only wear red sweaters” 😂😂
this is one of the best archs in the series
Donna knew. But knew Ron didn't want people knowing so never mentioned it
I dig your groovy tunes man.
Great video ❤easily my favourite channel on this website
It was believable he could keep it a secret when it came out, today it would be impossible
I'm not so sure about that. Social Media was already a thing in the early 2010s and Ron doesn't use any of those, plus (possibly) doesn't have a cellphone either?! He would be O.K. even in 2023, I guess.
@@Srga91that doesn’t account for all the people who would post him playing on THEIR social media accounts. Knowing Tom, he’d have known about Duke Silver the instant he started having a jazz kick (which now that I think about it, is still out of character for him but my point still stands).
@@Srga91 social media was around, absolute zero privacy was not. Probably even the bar would post online - today's performermances are posted online all the time
Lol!!😂 Andy's face when he realizes who's Duke Silver.
Bit hard for Ron to keep this identity a secret when this is show is presented as a documentary 😂
Only lil sebastain could bring out the legend of the wider public
Rip lil Sebastian 💔
And also Bobby Knight
When duke came out at the unity concert I was hype lol
"in a bathtub full...of my jazz."
"Smooth as silver" "Hi ho duke" "Memories of now"
Duke Silver is the best character in terms of dialogue.
Is the drummer at 7:05 one of the accounting guys?
YO I never clocked that!
7:08
There are two types of women 🤣🤣
April only likes when Ron calls her "good".
I think it shows she respects him enough to consider his option important.
0:48..not me being convinced this was Courtney cox walking past thinking she'd return
I dig our groovy tunes, man!
"I would like to dedicate this song to... My Dutchess" Perfect
All the gold he buries are records
Andy overthinking looool
"ladies and gentlemen, My Man! ...... "
I can't believe they got Bobby Knightranger to appear at the concert!
Duke Silver is the only character that makes less sense than Ron Swanson who wastes the taxpayers money for a job. Nobody notices him except Mark And April's mom?
It’s in another town in pre-social media age, it’s not unheard of. Today, it’s unheard of.
@@Crudmonkey211 pre-social media? The show started in 2009.
@@pat2rome Back in 2009, Facebook was relevant and Myspace was a thing. Twitter wasn't really a thing, Instagram didn't exist, Tiktok didn't exist, and Snapchat didn't exist. CZcams was pretty major by then, but very few people knew how to upload a video or had a smartphone capable of doing so. We're also talking about a mid-sized town in Indiana, so the idea that a government worker was secretly a well-known jazz musician isn't all that crazy.
@LordWolven Twitter was absolutely a thing by 2009, that's the year it blew up. Facebook still had millions and millions of users, as well as the all-important news feed and "pages".
No respectable Pawnee citizen would ever go to Eagleton...of couse nobody knows it's Ron.
You have a twin brother is gold
No one makes Ron’s dimples appear like April
Mark looks like Bruce Banner
So what is duke silver? He named an album "The Memories of Now" Ron would throw up if heard that as a title and he openly invited the crowd to come talk to him. Ron hates getting to know strangers on a personal level. I think this was just early Parcs and Rec so they didnt have all their characters completely figured out but if not whats goimg on?
It’s an alter ego that allows Ron to express a different side of himself. He doesn’t want to be Duke all the time but he enjoys it sometimes in limited doses.
The show has demonstrated many times that beneath his steely exterior, there’s a more emotional Ron underneath. Duke let’s him express his feelings without diluting his rugged outdoorsman persona.
It’s like how he normally prefers to be forthright and is opposed to riddles on a philosophical but he loves solving riddles.
I find it funny that you think it’s the writers who are wrong for establishing this early on, and don’t consider that your understanding of the character might just be a little surface level, DESPITE the writers establishing this early on.
@@AliasA1 hahaha I know right? How funny
I'm surprised this didn't include Leslie at the end scolding him about her finding out.
“Waist-deep in women’s undergarments” 😂🤣 -killed me.
I tried searching for "I wouldn't want to be like you" by Ron and Saxophone. Both have no dice.
I know Ron's pain...
Andy's confession tho
I feel like Donna knew but just didn’t ever tell anyone
The fact that the only person who knew this secret for the longest time was Mark Brendanaquits. I am curious how this happened
Plot device: the character
My husband’s name in my phone is Duke Silver. My name in his is Anastasia Beaverhouzen.
I wanna get a guitar… practice for 5 or 6 years alone by myself. Then play it for my wife and our children someday. They might be the only ones to ever hear me, but it will be worth it, because I love them.
im the only crazy person who thought this was gonna be about Ron Weasely
Cover band Bobby KnightRanger, RIP Coach!
I am constantly forgetting that Mark was a character.
1:30 I WANT TO LOVE IS
9:31
Love that the poster is of the "Memories of Now" album
Has anyone noticed that Ron Swanson has an uncanny resemblance to Duke Silver? Its probably just my imagination.
Nah,I dont find any. It probably IS your imagination.
What is this song, and who's it by?
Why did Ron decide to play it?
This office would be waste deep in womans undergarments.
andy, no one knows what the othet 98% is.
So quiet out there today. Was I that loud? 🤔
I feel tom was what really prevented the show from being the awesome show without Tom in it and by Tom I mean aziz and by aziz I mean why aziz did he buy people cars on the show?
3:02 *Grotesquely Explicit And Sexual Phrases Need To Be CENSORED!!!!*
What sexual phrase was said?
I think you're the one sexualizing things, he said that thinking of April as a daughter, same as when he calls Andy "son"
Try the concept of context, this was said in a manner like a father would talk to his daughter. If this was said in a bedroom with jazz playing in the background than it would be sexual
you need to touch some grass dude, you're sick
I miss this show. Pre-2020. Not a trace of woke anywhere to be found.
They married two male penguins
@@Ohms_vs_Draaggs yes I remember that. I also wasn't bothered by it because it was just a gag and not part of some secret woke agenda. It was pure comedy.
Ron is an inspiration.
Duke silver ❤
