Firefox for 2 years now, and I love it. Prior to Firefox, Google Chrome been my default from early 2009 to fall 2020. Throughout those years, once in a while I would switch to other browsers to experiment and discover what unique features I may be missing out on. The experiments would not last long for I would revert back to Chrome within days, sometimes hours. There was something about Chrome's design, extended extension library and functionality that I did not get on other browsers... and it just handled Google services exceptionally well across platforms. But in January 2021 I finally switched to Firefox, though I could not drop chrome entirely since the university I am pursuing my degree with is managed by Google services: from Mail, Calendar, Meet, Drive etc. Plus the university has some custom extensions it developed/runs with Chrome only. Therefore, I only use Chrome for schooling due to Google Services. Secondary to Firefox, I juggle between Brave, Vivaldi and Edge. The browser I have not used in decades, which was my love after Internet Explorer but before Chrome launch was Opera. I so much loved Opera for its Turbo Mode feature and Opera Unite... it was just the perfect web browser.

The one exclusive feature that kept me going back to FF after trying something else is the bookmarks sidebar that stays open rather than closing once you click a link. I work on Windows 10, and still use Chrome by default with necessary extensions for security, like Ghostery. & Eset Internet security. Plus I use postlight, web safety, clearcache, unhook for CZcams, and Bitwarden Password manager. to name a few). I just dropped Vivaldi this week (impossible to find needed settings and lack thereof) for Brave, which I am now setting up as my second Browser. I have also dropped Edge. (Bad experiences with Microsoft) and too much commercial as well as latent and shared data. See the privacytests org webpage.

I tried Edge last year. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! After twenty minutes of trying to set it up with codes and emails and errors flying everywhere ~ I gave up! It frustrated me so much it gave me a migraine!
    Nope to that for sure.

Can anyone help me. I need the best browser that will run on and old laptop (Vista) that can handle CZcams (and ideally block ads). The PC is optimized but still struggles. Currently Chrome is working the best.

Edge is a piece of garbage browser that no one uses. Everyone despise edge because is to bloated and crappy. Their bunch of liars and also forcing everyone to use it against user’s will. No wonder crappy edge market share is decreasing due to its dirty tactics. Don’t use crappy edge. Just stick with google chrome.

I like Brave, but it no longer supports any flavour of Win 7 so no updates in the future.
I'd no longer trust Opera now it is controlled by Chinese assets.
FireFox is my go to Browser, with TOR for any deeper private search and downloads

FF's auto-refresh, for whatever reason, has become bugged and runs like every 20 minutes. When you need to have a lot of tabs open, like me, the CPU and RAM hit is extremely irritating. FF is no longer #1

I preferred FireFox until I became legally blind.
I then switched to Brave due to the better DARK MODE feature.
I could not get the top bar in FireFox to go into dark mode.
The BRAVE Chrome browser is easier on the eyes especially for those of us with Low Vision issues.
I know there is a way to copy the Chrome script into Firefox however my vision issues hinder me from easily using that method.
FireFox is losing and growing group in the visually impaired community.

i don't know what are you talking about, for me dark mode in firefox work just fine, you need to spend just a little time for customization, moreover if you're blind, you can scale all your interface in about:config and type perpx you can change ui scaling by changing that number 1.5 mean 150%
