I had the awesome opportunity to play a completely original 1964 and it basically made me cry. Huge thanks to the kind gentleman (the original owner) who let me pick up and play his baby. If only I could have made it sound like THIS!
This is one of those "dislike" head scratchers. I'm thinking they're simply doing it for the contrarian factor. No other explanation. Saw Smokin' Joe in Buffalo a few years back at a bar in Black Rock. Simply amazing!
Wow !! Unbelievable ! So well done , seamless and fluid ! The tune swings , the vocals are complimenting the guitar , the guitar work is heavenly ! Just Wow ! Loved it , appreciated it ! Want to hear more of it !
Magnificent Joe! You're streets ahead of everyone and better than the best! How can you play so many great old tunes so well? how about "taking a chance on love"?
Lovely work, Joe and ... that guitar ... I bought one just like it in 1964 or 65 when I was in my teens. (Cannot remember exactly what I paid for it, but only a few hundred dollars.) I sold the guitar (needed the cash) when I was in my late 20s; for $900. Then in my late 60s, went to a guitar shown in Nashville. There were 3 es-335's (red-semi-hollow body exactly like this guitar and mine) at the show. I had taken the guitar up again and was looking to buy an electric. Of the 3 at the show, the cheapest one was selling for $17,200. At that moment, I almost (but not quite) shed some tears. You just never know, do you.
You are telling me there 12 people in this world that listen to/watch this, and then think to themselves, "well that sucked, I need to hit the dislike button."? The internet will always reinforce that humanity just sucks.
Great Guitar. Great store. Great Channel. Great Joe Robinson. All of me. How many interpretations on guitar are they? Always nice. Boom - chick Joe delivers another gem
i heard him say he was set on going to nashville in one of this videos. honestly it sounds like he should have went to harlem, st louis, chicago, memphis, or new orleans lol. this guy is cold!
If you guys have never heard Django's version of this go listen to it. Good grief! Seriously incredible but that's not to take anything away from this. It was also outstanding. I just always associate this song with Django because his version is so awesome.
Chet would call him a “Certified Guitar Player.”
Funnily he also has a bit of Chet Baker vocally I find. Good combo with the Chet Atkins guitar skills.
I've been saying this for years now. Tommy,. Chet and now, introducing the next CGP - Joe!
Outstanding as always......cheers from Canada.
@@YannplaysguitarI'm sorry, but Chet was one of a kind.

Please bring Joe in...all the time!
So refreshing. 2nd time this guy makes me stop and write a comment, and I don't comment often.
So he starts with killer finger picking and, because it was not enough, he starts singing on top like it is easy.
My exact thoughts
Unh-uh. THEN he rolls out a verse-worth of jazz runs to seal the deal. VERY unkind of him ...
Wow
lol! exactly!
Yeah this is some of the best playing I’ve ever seen!
thanks for letting me discover Joe Robinson. What a fantastic musician!👍🔥
