Mythos Pedals Extra Hot Overdrive Announcement
Built exclusively for Carter Vintage Guitars in beautiful Nashville, TN. The Extra Hot is the spiritual successor to the Hot Chicken* pedal we made a number of years ago with a handful of changes.
The updated Extra Hot has two different circuits than the OG unit. The Left "Dine In" side features our take on the ever popular ODR sound. This side features Cut (Tone) and Size (Bass) controls that let you shape the voice to fit any setup. We have dabbled in the circuit in the past with the Erlking, but we wanted to reduce the high end and make it a bit more approachable.
The "Take Out" side is an updated version of the drive from our Air Lane Drive/ 210 Double Drive pedals. The Flavor control allows you to adjust the Gain with the Sauce being a Volume control. The Take Out side is a simple single transistor, hard clipped overdrive that can be a boost, a low gain drive, to an almost fuzz like dirt pedal. Combining both sides yields a huge variety of sounds in a easy to use dual format.
We found that all the bells and whistles one might expect from a two-in-one were NOT necessary in this box. This dual drive is made to plug in, crank, and play. Both sides work independently, but there is no order switcher on the Extra Hot.

JD Simo // Bloomfield Strat

JD Simo talks about a historically significant 1963 Fender Stratocaster that once belonged to Mike Bloomfield. Bloomfield, a notable blues musician from Chicago, played this guitar extensively from the mid-'70s until his death in 1981. The Stratocaster was originally owned by Jimi Hendrix, who used it for recording before passing it to Buddy Miles, who then gave it to Bloomfield. Demo coming la...

This is what happens when two young legends that started at 4 understand the assignment
Tony rice is smiling down on you
What a dumb demo. Any Strat at all can give you a generic Hendrix front pick up tone. Buying a Strat this old you wanna hear it *clean* : that bell-like clarity of the clean tone; good twang on the 6th string, THEN end up pushing the amp a little.
too much NPR for this guy
You should get Tim Henson or Scott on here!
@MarcusKing is our generations Stevie Ray
Dueling banjos devil went down to Georgia and wtf just beautiful
while i like his 355 set up with amazing sound, this particular setup with his 60s gibson sounds too mudy for my taste. great player always.
Just great, Joanne is such a talented blues artist ❤
This was bloody brilliant! I know this recording is 5 years old now. Have these two made more music together? They are dynamite together.
Fkn love you Billy
I'm surprised they used a Celestion Greenback, I figured an old Jensen..
this is rad!
I just love her crooked smile! I was an instant fan the first time I heard her sing. If I was a betting man she would have all my money to go to the top.
And those price tags hangin from their guitars. 😁. Priceless. 😎
Nothing special. I don't understand the hype on these things.
I love the trio format. did he record as a trio?
Stunning stuff. I can't help comparing this with Kossof / Free. Epic!
Skål🍺
:- )
Hi what is the recording setup used? This guitar sounds lovely
Absolute Beast!
Is it a "silent" pédale from Mythos, for once 😅?
Man that collectors choice sounds CRAP! tha look on this guys face @ 3.21 he is saying to himself WTF???
i kinda agree, maybe amp wasn't set right. what a bloke, a true professional; just rolled with it.
Its amazing.... young woman who ... do this need to go over seas to make music
I cant believe she was working Sweden...
What tune is this?
No
She is ridiculous here...
She had the less to lose. God bless
the easy play is exactly what had me make the switch. i've got 3 of them already. lol
Billy Strings is the greatest to ever touch a 6 string guitar....lets argue about it....
I am picking up lots of Black Crowes vibes with the pedal. Really nice.
My first thought. 👍
The guitar has dark tone but the strings sound dead.. to My ears it doesn’t sound very loud.. it actually seems to lack sustain.. the guitar is amazing but I really think it could use a new set of strings.. it would make it come alive.
Just WOW! Completely different than the studio cut with piano which feels lethargic compared to this performance that moves along at the speed of an aching heart.
Dadario should collaborate with pedal builders with their loc knobs. Once I get all 5 knobs dialed in , it would be nice if theyd stay put.
Guitars the same age as me….. sounds a hell of a lot better though. Love the design of Telecaster… Take a rectangle, scoop the top and bottom, gouge a bit out of the end round the back off, put a neck on it, there you go, a classic timeless guitar.
Oh sure, Zach drops an ODR style drive just when I happen to be looking into getting one!
Okay so I just got off the commuter train from Recording in New Haven and got to Grand Central Terminal for my R&B gig in Manhattan. I barely have time to tune up. Do you make a pedal with On / Off and one dial? Who has time for that mess ? 😎🎸
.... ach ist das schön..... findet man immer wieder Sachen zum nachspielen .... great playing..man... 👍👍
Wonderful. I have a CS R4 . CLose as I'll get!
You got your pork soda in my hamburger train
he makes every guitar look tiny in his hands
Steve Earle is an absolute national treasure.
Very enjoyable. I dug the rythmic sonic right hand on the beautiful Taylor.
I owned one, had to give it up because I could not get used to the short scale and the tight spacing between the pick-ups. BB Kings backup guitarist played a Byrdland.
A friend owns 4very early Gibson Byrdland guitars. No two are alike. One is labeled L-5 Custom.
WTF WOOO
