All artists has some degree of playback that is pre recorded in the background. When he stops playing you can hear that there is another melody to the violin in the background than what he played himself just to give the melody som depth

Everyone is complaining about this song but... watch him perform. He's so happy to be performing for ESC again and he's having so much fun. If you have an artist that performs a song with no passion what's the point? He's obviously putting his heart into it and his performance is showing it. For me, that deserves 12 points.

What good is a song if the person singing it doesn't feel it? And it's so fun and happy - honestly, the majority of people watching it are going to feel happier watching it just because of him! Imo this song has very special meaning. It might seem childish but I think it’s about believing in your creations. This song shows contrast between catchy melody + easy lyrics and deeper meaning hidden behind all of it. It’s about dealing with haters and believing in everything you create and stand up for it even if nobody agrees with your choice. When you’re an artist you have to face your own insecurities and people’s judgement that might be harsh. He just want to tell us that we should have faith in ourselves, have some fun and do what we love with a smile on our faces

I actually think his chances of winning this year is decreased a lot, due to the fact that there's a lot of people who are pissed about a previous ESC winner entering again. He has a lot of fans yeah, but so did Cascada and she didn't even get into the top 10 when she entered the contest in 2013.

Think some of you have misunderstood his song. "Thats how you write a song" wasnt written to be played a lot on the radio and he knows it isnt among his best written songs, however, the song was written especially to be a stage song. He had a vision of how it was going to look like when he got the idea for the song. He also said that last time he participated, his song was typical Norwegian. This time the song isnt typical Norwegian with Fjords and mountains, but the spirit in the song is typical Norwegian. The spirit that nothing is impossible. Fex in Norway people often say "I dont understand this idea, but I still believe in you and I know you will succeed". Thats who we are in Norway, says Alexander, and that is what I want to show this time with this song/performance. The Norwegian spirit.
The story behind the song isnt to educate people on the only way to write a song, but to inspire people to believe in their talents, their ideas, go after their dreams aso. He hope people sees that. The idea of the song came from letters from kids, kids who sometimes are 85 or 7. Kids of all ages.

This is a new year, new song, a more 'matured Alexander within music'. He wanted to try this one more time because he enjoyed it so much, and he is proud of this song, and Norway voted for him to reprecent us. The other entries Norway had this year weren't any better anyway, this was one of the better ones (in my opinion ofc) ^^
Just let him do what he loves to do. We'll see if it gets a spot in the finale or not. He's had a good run no matter what, and we norwegians are proud of him no matter what!

I think this song is the complete package. He doesn’t take himself seriously, and he’s having a good time and interacting with the audience. Staging is really good and effective. Lyrics are uplifting, even if the song title is a bit cringe. I hope Alex goes the whole way and brings it back home for Norway a second time.
