I’m running one of these on my 17 VW Passat 1.8 turbo. I'm putting out right at 200hp now using premium fuel. It really woke the car up from the boring stock version. Volkswagen needs some real performance outside of the GTI/GLI.
They offered the Passat GT V6 which was fun natural and smooth but they sat on the lots for awhile and they only offered it for 2018. Just very easy to spin the wheels with the DSG and no turbo lag. Nice car though.
@@entropy8000 Volkswagen has enough parts in stock to create a serious performance car out of the Passat at a minimal cost. They won’t do it because they want you to level up and buy an Audi.
@@alanholmes2366 No I think it's just a numbers thing. The Passat went away because it doesn't sell well in NA. It wouldn't make sense for them to introduce more version of a poor selling vehicle. The main issue right now in NA is everyone wants an SUV and so car sales have plummeted. Which sucks for those of us who enjoy them.
@@sinappanis Definitely some truth to this. Another thing though is the fact that VW did very little to market this car. I’ve ran into a bunch of people that had no idea VW made a car like the Passat. Can’t sell what people don’t know about especially in a market that has Camry & Accord in it. That in part is why they sold poorly. SUVs sell well in the US because they make more money for car brands and they market them to consumers to help pad the manufacturers bank accounts. Model is dead now replaced by more SUVs…
Any comments on results!? About to pull the trigger on a 2020 Tiguan and only issue is power... APR working on a tune but no release date. I have a jb1 on our 19 golf R to keep warranty intact by removing before services... made a very noticeable difference. I’m considering the jb4 for the Tiguan but really rather not have to run a line inside to the obd port.
I'm in Cambridge MA and looking at a 2020 Tiguan. This sounds like the perfect upgrade! Is this module dealer purchased and installed or solely aftermarket vendors? Thanks.
Video is useless without performance numbers or updates. I have a bone stock 2021 Tiguan SE (non-4motion) and want a little extra power but not too much cause I don't want to spin the wheels every time. Don't want to do a tune, because it would void my forever-warranty through the dealer. Please give updates when able on the gains if any.
Sorry that I didn't film undoing the top clips. It is very clear where they go as the kit includes pictured directions. The problem is the instructions never show where to do the bottom plugs.
@@TheBostonVeeDubGuys There are three general types of learning, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Know that your audience is looking for specific things when you title a video a certain way. People expect to be able to see things not just have someone "go over it" because you couldn't be bothered to do it while filming. Title the video in a way that leads to you showing mostly the bottom clip. Why do people find this so difficult!?
any update on how the car feels after the module?
Is this worth it? I'm between this or the JB4. I just want a little bit of power since the Tiguan stock is slow, very very slow.

It should work on your passat. Always check the part code and compatibility but I know they make one for it.

Which Neuspeed Power Module is it? Doesn’t show one available that fits a Tiguan newer than 2017
